Bluum October 2018 Review

This Bluum box was sent for my son, Parker, who is 2 years old. Let's see what we received this month:

Bumkins Junior Bib in Cacti - Retail Value $9.95

This cacti print is super cute and actually matches a set of bags I received in a previous Bluum box so I was happy to have a matching bib. This junior bib is meant for ages 1-3 and is much larger than a regular bib so it covers more clothing. It is stain and odor-resistant, as well as waterproof, making it easy to wipe clean and features a catch-all pocket on the front. It's also BPA, PVC, Vinyl, Phthalate, and lead-free. Parker actually refuses to wear bibs at this point, but I actually think it will be a great bib for the baby who is just starting to eat solids!

The velcro strip is nice and long so that you can adjust the neckband and it has arm holes so that it really covers the entire front, which is great for messy toddlers!

Eco-armour "Outdoor" Botanical Insect-Repellent and Moisturizer - Retail Value $14.99

This insect repellent is actually fairly unique in that it is moisturizing and deodorizing and you can rub it into your skin to help reduce pain and swelling from insect bites. It is DEET-free and biodegradable and it says it has a "refreshing scent," but to me, it smells like citronella, although not as heavily as most citronella products. I like having a spray that I can feel safe using on all of the kids, especially Parker, who seems the most prone to getting insect bites. I am excited about the fact that it might even relieve some of the itch and pain!

Melissa & Doug Mini-Puzzle Pack in Animals - Retail Value $9.99

We own a lot of Melissa & Doug puzzles, but I had actually never seen these before...until I just ordered them as a Christmas present for Parker a few weeks ago. Whoops! At least I know that I was on the right track though because as soon as he saw these, he kept asking to play with them and has been putting them together all morning. Luckily, I think the other set I bought will be a great gift to donate! What really appealed to me was that they all get stored inside this case and have that elastic strap to keep them all together.

It comes with four separate 4-piece puzzles featuring animals, which Parker absolutely loves! This is a great activity to keep him entertained independently for a while.

Lalaboom Snap Beads 12 Piece Set - Retail Value $9.95

These are completely new to us and one of those simple toys that the kids just went crazy for! This set comes with 6 beads that break apart by twisting into 12 pieces and you can do a lot of different things with them like thread laces through the center to connect them all.

You can also mix and match the bottoms and tops.

You can snap them together.

You can even stack them on top of each other. This is such a fun, versatile toy that even my 4-year-old had fun playing with them. Since the pieces were larger I also wasn't too worried about them being out near baby either. I have a feeling we will be adding more pieces to our collection!

Verdict: I really loved the toys we received in our Bluum box this month! They definitely appealed to Parker and I'm excited to discover the Lalaboom beads as a toy that we can possibly expand on. I think the insect repellent is great to have on hand and this one is particularly neat with its moisturizing properties. The bib is a cute pattern and we can always use a nice smock style one like this, which we don't actually have already. Overall, the total value came to $44.88, which I think is a decent value considering the cost of the box is $34 including free shipping.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
