BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review – October 2018

HI! I just subscribed to boxycharm and it says my weight is 0.8? Does anyone know what that box will contain?

No matter what I do, Boxycharm never sends me any spoiler emails or emails of any kind. My boxes just show up every month and I notice they’d charged my card on file..

The good part is, they almost always send me the really nice variation. I got the Farmacy balm and the lace masks. My KVD lip color is very pretty, Loving, I think it is. No hint of gray, orange or red, which makes me happy.
My box arrived almost smashed but the palette was just fine. Yay for Boxy boxes. 😉

I got variation 1 with the farmacy makeup remover omg im in love. It works so well. After im out definitely have to buy more. My box weight was .9.bJust an fyi. I was praying for this one.

I got variation #2 (boooo!) with the AHAVA hand cream (this my favorite hand cream of all time, but I already have two of these sized ones, an oversized one, plus like three other kinds of their creams; it truly is amazing but I don’t need another), Briogeo leave-in hair mask (again, I already have the mask and the rosarco leave-in, so I have no need of combo), and the KVD liquid lip in Bow n Arrow (it’s a dark nude – I love these lipsticks, but this color just washed me out; i really only wear red lipsticks and would jump for joy of anyone wanted to trade). I’m not partial to keeping any of those three, if only on the basis that I’ve already tried them. If anyone is willing to trade, I would love any red lipstick- I swear, just about ANY red lipstick would do- and would absolutely kill for the Farmacy Green Clean cleanser. If anyone wants to trade I’m down!!!

No Ahava, but I did get a full-size Farmacy cleansing balm. I’ve tried it before and it’s nice.

The Superhero mascara is a full size.

The KVD liquid lip shade is “Mother”. Yuck. The box for it came a little crushed and the bar code was scratched out with black marker. That just seems odd.

The palette looks nice. The box was sealed on both sides with sticky tabs and the color pans were protected with plastic sheets that were stuck on with the sticky tabs.

I am afraid to publically say what color KVD lippies I don’t want to receive because I will end up getting them, and afraid to say the one I really want because then I won’t get it. Just hope they treat me right this time.

I love my box!!! I got the good variation though. I got the PUR palette, the mascara, my Kat Von D lipstick shade is Lovesick, which is a gorgeous mauve color, the Farmacy cleansing balm and the black bamboo charcoal peel off mask. PUR palettes don’t excite me that much, but they aren’t bad, and I love all the other stuff, so overall I like my October box!!!

The colors in the PUR palette are much nicer than the promo photos show. I am still unsubscribed, but I would have reconsidered if I had seen real-light photos of that palette. The only other item I would have used is the Briogeo. I really like that line of KVD lippie, but I’m sure I would have received some hideous brown. There were only two colors offered that interested me.

Still hoping for something better that will tempt me to resubscribe.

Got my box today, I was worried I don’t get spoiler e-mails so had no clue my variation. I received bow & arrow for my KVD, the lace mask and the briogio leave in. I wanted the Farmancy but I’m quietly happy with my variation #2.

Finally got my ship notice. It should arrive Thursday, same as Birchbox.

I have a full size Superhero and a sample size. Not really a fan; it’s okay but doesn’t wow me.

I got a worse variation than this one unfortunately. Was really hoping for the farmacy product and would have been ok with the travel size Ahava hand cream but instead got some cheap looking eye masks! And my Kat Von D looks used, it is a dark brown color (crucifix), which isn’t something I would ever use anyway. If it didn’t look used I would have passed it on to a friend. Pretty disappointing box overall, the only useable products in here are the mascara and Briogeo spray (which I have been wanting to try out so I’m happy about that product, wish it wasn’t so small though). I have only been subscribed to Boxy for three months and the boxes have all been quite underwhelming. I will not be renewing after the 6 months I purchased are done! My Ipsy on the other hand has been amazing!

First box, and last. Didn’t get the Pur palette, IT mascara, or Kat vonD lippie. But did receive cheap brushes, Violet Voss Feisty (ugly brown), Girlactik highlighter (yawn), Luscious es base, and Pretty Vulgar Nightingale palette. Really?

I noticed his month everything was in box??? (Mascara,lip and pallet)🤔

Mine arrived today. Variation 1 per the card, I almost always get #1. Farmacy Green Clean and black bamboo peel off mask. Lip in Lovesick but it doesn’t have shade on the card. And yes my email silhouettes showed the Farmacy and mask.

The emails revealing your items aren’t necessarily accurate. I had what appeared to be the face mask & farmacy product as my spoiler but today I received my box and got version number 6 which variation items include the briogeo spray shown in this post and undereye masks from a brand called south mane beauty. Just a heads up. The shade of lipstick I received was Crucifix.

I had such FOMO after finally cancelling last month. What a relief. 🙂 I might be upset I miss next month, but this month is okay.

I received both my boxycharm packages today and they both have the face masks and the green clean. I’m not sure how to check the weight though. I DID receive the email everyone was asking about where it looks like the green clean jar and the face masks.

Mine says .8lbs hmmmmm..

How much did your box weigh? Mine says 0.9lbs.

This looks like it’s 3 full sized products and 2 deluxe sized samples 🤷🏼‍♀️ Wtf?!

Ugh I got this same bow and arrow lip shade so I’m assuming this will be my variation. After December luxe I’m out for awhile. The theme actually went great with the masks and green clean but alter ego with hand cream and hair conditioner… not so much!

I am confused about the Briogeo item. They are listed on MSA as the same item but one is a spray on but the labels on the containers are slightly different. They are both 2oz. The one Liz received isn’t even on the Briogeo website. I wonder if it’s a discontinued item or an upcoming item. The link takes you to an aerosol item.

I like how Liz’s box containers items that are all more than a one time use item. The other box has a face mask. At the same time the other box has a Farmacy item which tends to be a more desirable item.

I would have preferred the second box only b/c of the Farmacy. Both are ok, but I think with the new Luxe box it looks like they are pushing more not so full sized items. I wonder if this is going to be the new trend.

I thought Boxycharm’s claim is that they provide five full sized items. I have the Briogio — it’s 5oz, not 2oz. I have received Ahava before, and this is a sample size. They are great products, but I will also be unhappy if I get them over the Farmacy, and the lace mask has unique appeal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My comments are not showing up so I will try again lol my label says .90 lbs and this variant is supposed to be 1 pound even according to a youtuber. So math wise, I think there is a good chance of getting tge other variant spoiled after I do the math. We will see I guess. Lol
