The Bookish Box is a book-inspired subscription box from Appraising Pages, which is now called The Bookish Shop. They recently released Limited Edition Harry Potter House Boxes! As a hardcore Harry Potter fan, I knew this box would be perfect for me.

This is a review of the Ravenclaw House Box, which is no longer available for purchase.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Bookish Box Limited Edition Ravenclaw House Box Review

Here is the info sheet included for the box. As you can see, not many details are provided and the cup was forgotten completely!

A sticker was also included.

The Bookish Box Ravenclaw Tee - Estimated Value $24 (based on all other shirts sold here)

This is my second LE box from The Bookish Box and they have some seriously soft t-shirts! I like the simple contrast of the charcoal shirt with the blue Ravenclaw and white details because while I love supporting my fandom I don’t like wearing t-shirts that are too out there. Another thing I appreciated is that the torso of this tee was a bit longer than standard, which makes it more comfortable. My one complaint is that I sized up for maximum comfiness and incurred a surcharge as a result - boooo.

Ink & Wonder Ravenclaw Pillowcase

Ink & Wonder Ravenclaw Pillowcase

I am a bit of a home décor noob—I didn't even realize that the pillowcases on my current throw pillows were removable. This discovery definitely means cleaning my pillows in the future will be easier (before I was just sticking both pillows in the washing machine and hoping for the best). Because of this, I didn't realize that the pillow I stuffed this pillowcase on was a bit too small until after I had battled the zipper. Oops. On the bright side, I love the gorgeous watercolor-esque design and the pop of color this provides. And my formerly floppy pillow is now firm supportive since it is stuffed into a too-small pillowcase. Wins all around!

Novelly Yours Ravenclaw Common Room Candle, 2 oz – Buy a set of 4, 2 oz candles for $14.50 here

I really love candles, so I am always excited to see them in subscription boxes. Unfortunately, I loved the idea of this candle more than the candle itself. The scent of the Ravenclaw common room is described as “fresh air, mountains, bookcases, and stars,” and while that sounds pretty in theory once burning this didn’t really put out much scent at all.

Authored Adornments Ravenclaw Necklace

This fun necklace was a box exclusive, and the larger pendant features snippets of a Ravenclaw quote while the smaller pendant is deep blue with gold accents—aka Ravenclaw colors! This necklace was a bit hard to put on as there is only one loop to hook the lobster clasp on, but the slightly longer chain helped when I was reaching behind me.

Here I am wearing the necklace and the t-shirt. I really liked how the necklace hit right above the start of the letters on the shirt.

Happenstance Coffee Ravenclaw House Blend, 2 oz

Happenstance Coffee Ravenclaw House Blend, 2 oz – Estimated Value $4

I don’t drink coffee, as caffeine can make me sick, and I have never found the taste of coffee to be worth the side effects. Oh man though, does this coffee smell amazing. No information is provided on what kind of bean this is other than being called the “Ravenclaw house roast,” and by the way this smells I can definitely picture studious Ravenclaws drinking this while heading to class or staying up late to study. I do think it is a bit of a missed opportunity to not package this in a resealable bag to extend the freshness of the coffee.

Ravenclaw Tumbler

This fun mason jar-esque tumbler is just begging for a generous pour of iced coffee… or decaffeinated tea.. or water. Whatever your beverage of choice, this plastic screw-top tumbler can make it work (except hot beverages. Don’t put hot liquid in this plastic cup). I found the straw to be a bit wider than a typical straw, so this would also work well for my occasional morning smoothie! I’m not sure if this is dishwasher safe, but it will be going on my top rack regardless.

The Verdict: I love the limited edition boxes that The Bookish Box puts out—they are always so fun and include unique products! I think including a high-quality shirt in the box really makes the overall box a star. Even though I couldn’t find values for most of the items included, knowing that the shirt would cost $24 makes the rest of the items seem like a good deal for the overall box cost.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, this box is now sold out.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $37 + $4.50 shipping, which means that each of the 6 items in the box has an average cost of $6.92.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
