Piibu Box August 2018 Review

Coconut Milk One Pack -

Coconut Milk One Pack - Retail Value $2.00

Another familiar face! I’ve tried several of these family of masks in last few months, and they were hard to beat - coffee and matcha were both enjoyable, but I’m a sucker for anything coconut! This particular mask contains white mushroom, which does most of the hydrating, and also offers its powers of elasticity. It smelled rich, like fresh coconut flesh, and was extremely hydrating - as promised!

Skinfood Ginseng Mask - Retail Value $1.00

I wasn’t sure of Ginseng’s properties at first, and I really had a lot to learn! Ginseng is a major powerhouse for beauty products and has a lot to offer. Really known for revitalization, many swear by its attributes, and I have to say, I was really impressed. I left this mask on for nearly half an hour and afterward my skin was definitely brighter and super-smooth after using.

Leader’s Insolution Vita Bright Renewal Mask -

Leader’s Insolution Vita Bright Renewal Mask - Retail Value $2.00

I love the masks that look super-heavy-duty, and this one looked very science-forward! The Leaders Insolution line really tends to boast high-performance results, and while they’re usually extremely hydrating, it’s hard to say if they truly produce firming or lifting results since I’m not able to use them every day. The best thing about this brand of masks is that the moisture they offer lasts for ages! I put this on in the morning as I was getting dressed, and I still thought my skin looked soft and glowy a day later.

Leaders Cosmetics Amino Clearing Mask - Retail Value $2.42

The second one of the Leader’s brand didn’t disappoint, either! This was absolutely packed with serum; I was able to apply the leftover in the package to my arms and neck for an added boost. It had a light, faintly floral and pleasant scent, and skin really seemed brighter post-mask. The best part was that a small pimple that just wouldn’t budge from my chin this week was remarkably smaller after using!

JAYJUN Honey Dew Red Mask

JAYJUN Honey Dew Red Mask - Retail Value $2.40

I’m a big fan of JayJun masks after using a particularly luxurious one back in May. The packaging was, again, vibrantly colored and beautifully designed, and the mask inside really delivered. I received the red one of these, containing ingredients like grapefruit, tomato, and strawberry; there’s another version in “green” containing different ingredients. It smelled very sweet, like its star ingredient, manuka honey, and even though it was packed with serum, it wasn’t sticky at all. I thought my skin looked much clearer after using this; any redness in my face was gone!

the SAEM Natural Charcoal Mask Sheet - Retail Value $2.00

I was so excited for this mask, and while it didn’t work like total magic, it did help clear up my skin a bit! This mask contains charcoal, which is meant to clear out the impurities in the skin and clean out your pores. It didn’t dissolve the blackheads in my nose like I had hoped it would, but I definitely saw a difference in some other areas on my face where the pores were clogged to a lesser degree, and my skin felt hydrated afterward, too!

Real Big Yogurt One Bottle Apple - Retail Value $1.50 (found here for $1)

I was able to try the plain version of this mask last month, and I was happy to try the apple version for a little change of pace! Like its plainly-flavored kin, this mask boasts lifting and firming properties. That’s hard to speak to since I don’t use this specific brand every week, but I can definitely say it has a lot of good qualities - it’s refreshing, smells fantastic, and seemed to really hydrate my skin.

Verdict: Another solid offering from Piibu Box, but again, the valuation this month is low - I only received $13.32 worth of masks this month. As I said in July, I would love it if they sent just one more mask a month - I think it would add to the value tremendously. I also think it would be great if there was one extremely high-value mask in the bunch, just to round out the valuation and make this subscription even more special. That being said, I think I got some great masks. The high-performance offerings from Leaders offered some skin benefits; I love the coconut mask, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the JayJun and charcoal masks. Despite the low valuation, I do love the convenience of having these masks curated for me every month, though - every time I see that gold mailer, I know it’s time to take a moment, decompress, and to take some time out for pampering!

I’ve seen this box listed on other sites stating it only has 6-8 masks per box so maybe that’s part of the issue?

Facetory is my go-to mask subscription. The value is usually double the cost and they do a lot of multi step masks, and really heavy duty or unique ones.

I could be mistaken, but I’m also pretty sure there have been several months with only 7 masks. The subscription is described as having 8-10, and I don’t think I’ve ever (personally) seen a 9 OR 10 count. I think I’ve seen a few 8 counts, but I’ve definitely seen several packs only containing 7 masks.

Agree! I notice it every single time, because it states “8-10” and I always think how cheap it is to never send more than eight, anytime I’ve seen the reviews. Granted, I don’t stalk this subscription, but I’ve definitely never seen more than eight…not even once, in the times that I have read the reviews. Good job to all of the mask reviewers! Thanks for such detail, from every single reviewer at MSA.

That is really really low value for these masks versus what you paid. Especially when you can get some of them from Walmart or Target.
