Piibu Box May 2018 Review

Natural-Tox Mask Sheet Carrot

Natural-Tox Mask Sheet Carrot - Retail Value $1.50

I was happy to see this brand again because I had a relaxing experience with its grape and apple cousins last month! This carrot one was nice; the scent was kind of grassy and sweet, and was an easy-to-use cotton mask. I thought this mask had a bit more of a brightening effect than the other two - it’s supposed to contain collagen to soothe and protect the skin.

A’PIEU Coffee Milk - Retail Value $2.00

It was great to see another familiar mask, again, in another flavor! I had just said last month that I wanted to try all the “flavors” of this mask, so I was thrilled to see this coffee variety. It’s funny - I didn’t start drinking coffee regularly until long after college was over, so there were a lot of years in my 20’s where I didn’t think I’d ever be considered a coffee-drinker. However, I have always adored the smell of the stuff! This mask smells so good, like a nice light latte, and it seemed to have more serum than the green tea one I tried last month.

Etude House Calendula

Etude House Calendula - Retail Value $2.00 (found here for $1.50)

What bright, sunny packaging! Calendula refers to the family name of several varieties of marigold, which seems like an interesting ingredient for a mask since marigolds aren’t famous for smelling very good. This, however, had a light scent that was sort of cotton-esque. It held a pretty good amount of serum, but I didn’t notice much difference in my skin after using.

Pureness 100 Shea Butter Sheet - Retail Value $2.00 (found here for $1.00)

Tonymoly is a classic for a reason, and this comfy cotton mask was a nice stand-by for the week! This smelled awesome I thought the mask fit pretty well, but the forehead piece was a little large. I personally didn’t mind getting some serum in my hair, but I could see how that might be a concern if other users got a fit similar to what I experienced. I found this one to be really hydrating!

JAYJUN Anti Dust Therapy Mask

JAYJUN Anti Dust Therapy Mask - Retail Value $4.00

This might be the most gorgeous packaging for a mask that I’ve ever seen! Seriously, I was actually a little sad to open this three-step mask because it was so beautiful. I really like these more intensive skin treatments; they force me to take a longer time-out from my day and really focus on self-care. This included a cleanser to start, followed by a green (!) mask, and then finished with a soothing cream. I really liked the cleanser; I felt like it washed off the dirt of the day, and when I was finished, my husband commented a couple of times how good the cream smelled.

N.M.F Aqua Collagen Essence Mask - Retail Value $2.00

This mask is full of really hydrating ingredients to add moisture to skin - the first they boast is sea water, and the main ingredient is hydrolyzed collagen. This cotton mask fit a little strangely around my nose, but was a good fit on my chin and cheeks, and had a nice clean, slightly mineral scent. It had a lot of serum, and my skin looked calmer, less red, after I used it.

Mediheal Revital Essential Mask

This mask is easily the most scientific-looking of this month’s batch! I wasn’t super-familiar with this brand when it arrived. It has a nice thickness to the mask itself, so it was easy to put on and held a lot of serum that I rubbed into my neck and shoulders after I was using it. It didn’t have much of a smell, but it was so hydrating and made my skin feel like it had been revitalized after I was done using it.

Verdict: This month’s batch of masks gave me new varieties of sheets I received previously as well as a nice variety from each other. I really liked the coffee variety of the milk mask, Jayjun blew me away with their three-step treatment this month, and the Aqua Collagen mask really offered up some serious hydration for my poor skin.

Did the coffee mask feel like it had any firming effects to it? Just curious, since it may have caffeine in it.

Also, I totally understand about the beautiful packaging, and not wanting to ruin it. I’m a sucker for beautiful & cute packaging, and these mask boxes seriously bring a smile to my face every month I receive them because the masks usually so cute! I’m always a little sad when I do use them and have to cut them open.

I didn’t notice a huge difference in my skin after using it other than feeling more refreshed, but that could’ve just been me, Luna! It may work better for someone else. ^_^
