How to be a Redhead (H2BAR) is a monthly subscription box that was started by two redheaded sisters, Adrienne and Stephanie Vendetti. Their goal was to empower all redheads to feel confident in their looks by providing products that are “Redhead Friendly.” This means all items are free of heavy chemicals and complement red hair.

How To Be A Redhead June 2018 Review

Included is this adorable message about how the redhead emoji is being released in June! The message advises to relish in this representation and to enhance your beauty routines with these great redhead geared products!

On the back of the card is a handy listing with information about the products and their values.

Also included is info for a giveaway for a $25 card for the Howtobearedhead.com shop! You qualify if you post a selfie and share on Instagram and/or Facebook with the #h2barbox hashtag, along with your answer to the statement of “When the redhead emoji is finally released, I will feel…”

Finally, an ad for Gem Lites Colorwash was provided in this month’s box.

Celeb Luxury Gemlites Colorwash, 8.25 fl oz. —Retail Value $35

Celeb Luxury Bond Fix Strengthening Conditioner, 0.75 fl oz. packet - Estimated Value $4.38 (Buy a 6fl oz  bottle for $35)

I am in a committed relationship with my Overtone Color Depositing mask and daily conditioner, but this will work well together to keep my hair vibrantly red in between trips to my hair stylist. The Colorwash is rather effective, especially after two or three uses. The Bond Fix strengthening conditioner has a great citrus smell and left my hair smooth and shiny!

Damone Roberts Am1 + Am2 Wipes, 10 Day Supply—Retail Value $20

This two-step face wipe system is fantastic! I used these after my trip from the Bay for my post-vacation/PMS break out for a few days straight and I saw a real change in my skin. These also came in handy on those days I was running late into the office. The first wipe is water based and refreshed and cleansed my skin. My skin felt rejuvenated and less dull. The second moistened wipe worked as a toner and further brightened and toned my skin. I am immensely impressed with this kit!

GloBiotics Probiotic Revitalizing Cleanser, 10ml - Estimated Value $2.13 (buy a 150ml bottle for $32)

GloBIotics Soothing + Revitalizing Eye Cream, 5ml — Estimated Value $25 (buy a 15ml tube for $75)

The GloBiotics line is based on topical probiotics. The definition of probiotics ( per GloBiotics site) are body friendly bacteria that help balance your “good” and “bad” bacteria to help strengthen the immune system and support your body’s ability to remain healthy. Benefits of topical probiotics are the reversal of problematic skin conditions, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, detoxify stressed, acne prone skin, to rehydrate and give skin a smoother texture, and also to increase oxygen for a healthy rosy glow. With all this info, I was game to try the product. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the face wash, but I am enjoying the eye cream. It had a soothing effect and made my under eyes look better. I will use that sample until it runs out for sure!

Glo Skin Beauty Precis Micro Browliner in Auburn—

Glo Skin Beauty Precis Micro Browliner in Auburn—Retail Value $20

I have received various brow liners and gels from How To Be A Redhead so far, but this is the first one that claimed to be auburn and actually was! If you are seeking a brow liner that will actually show up as red, this is the one for you! On me, since I don’t dye my brows, it pops out and doesn’t blend with my naturally brown brows. The first application was incredibly faint, but the more I have used the pencil, the better it has applied. This is a wax-based formula with decent staying power.

Hum Hair Sweet Hair Gummy Vitamin, 2 gummies — Estimated Value $0.83 (buy a 60ct, Month supply for $25)

Hum Nutrition vitamins are chock full of herbs and minerals to help make your hair stronger and shinier. Their ingredients include Fo-Ti (traditional Chinese herb), Folic Acid (Vitamin B9), Biotin (Vitamin B7), Zinc (vital mineral), PABA (Antioxidant), and Vegan B12 (healthy follicle support). These gummies have a rather tart flavor. I can’t say if I saw a vast change in my hair or skin after since I only took a one day supply, but I wouldn’t mind trying them out for a month to see if I see a vast and noticeable difference!

Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Hydrocolloid Acne Absorbing Spot Dot, 6 patches — Estimated Value $3 (buy 39 for $17.99)

I was excited to try these out since my skin was in an uproar due to traveling and my period. I love that you can wear these patches with makeup over them to conceal them. You truly can’t tell they’re there! I wore one overnight while I slept, but didn’t see that the zit I had minimized all that much, sadly. That pimple was relentless and most of the products couldn’t combat it that week though! I am willing to give the Mighty Patch another go next period again: FINGERS CROSSED!

Verdict: How To Be A Redhead remains one of the boxes I am eager to receive every month. I love that you get a mix of trial and full size products. Most of the brands I receive are new to me as well, so I get a real taste for a variety of products! My favorites in the June box without question were the Damone Roberts AM wipes and the Celeb Luxury Gemlites Colorwash! Both are fantastic products I would buy once I run out of them. I am always stunned and amazed by how many quality products are included in H2BAR’s box for a mere $18.98, including free shipping! This month's box has a total estimated value of $110.34, which is such an incredible deal, especially when the Celeb Colorwash retails at $38.25 alone! H2BAR is everything!

I did 5 months of this box and then canceled. I have sooo much shampoo and conditioner and wipes – and these seems to be the mainstay items.

The most recent box came with a pretty pallette, which was a nice change. But for the most part, I feel like the items included are cheap. I like trying new items – and there has been a few I’ve really liked – but it just doesn’t justify the cost. 🙁

I very rarely use every product that receive in any sub box, but I really liked and tried everything. The colorwash has kept my hair glossy and bright red this month-love it!, I love and use the brow pencil daily, the pimple items are great and I need more, the glowbiotics eye cream and cleanser were both nice and refreshing, loved the hum hair vitamins and bought more and I’ve used the Damone Roberts Am-1 and A2 wipes. They are great for travelling. I not only liked but used everything we received. Once again, a great How to be a Redhead monthly box and it’s so nice they deliver early in the month. Thanks Nichole, great review.

Those acne dots only work on pimples that have already come to a head. IT won’t work if the pimple is under the skin at all. but they are amazing on ones that have fully surfaced! I swear by them!

Oh, gotcha! That is good info to have, Dani!

Yes! They are so good! Two pimples I had were gone overnight after putting this on when I got home for the evening.
