Fruit For Thought "Picnic Time" July 2018 Review

Here is the card that gives you some more information about the items included.

Sweet On You Foaming Body Wash in Blueberry Cobbler, 6 oz - Estimated Value $7.20 (buy the 10-ounce version for $12)

If you like blueberry baked goods this foaming body wash is just what you need—the scent is identical, without smelling artificial! This foaming body wash feels so luxurious thanks to the bubbles, and it left my skin feeling clean and hydrated thanks to the sunflower oil. This is a perfect pairing for the Ahhh Sugar Sugar Blueberry Yum Yum lotion I got in a previous box, and I really enjoy smelling like blueberry baked goods (Duchess is a fan, too!).

Zen Bath Candies Watermelon Bath Fizz, 6 oz

Zen Bath Candies Watermelon Bath Fizz, 6 oz - Retail Value $5.99

I love watermelon scented bath goodies so this adorable bath bomb was right up my alley. The juicy watermelon scent is strong (just how I like it) and it makes me feel like I just cut up a bowl of fresh watermelon. Plus, I was happy with the beautiful bath art this bath fizz provided!

Dia Direct Neoprene Gingham Can Wraps, set of two - Estimated Value $8?

These can-wraps are a great way to keep your drinks cold while insulating your fingers from the icy chill, and I love how the gingham matches a classic picnic blanket design. I couldn’t find these online, but I could easily see paying $4 apiece for these koozies—the neoprene is nice and thick and the Velcro is secure. These can-wraps will last for many picnics to come!

Sweet On You Beauty White Tea and Lemonade Perfume Oil, 0.33 oz

Sweet On You Beauty White Tea and Lemonade Perfume Oil, 0.33 oz – Retail Value $10

This perfume oil came packaged in an adorable picnic-themed bag from Sweet Thymes, and I love that extra attention to detail that Fruit For Thought provides throughout their box! This perfume oil is truly perfect for summer—it smells just like an Arnold Palmer, and a picnic is a perfect time to enjoy the classic drink! I was happy with how refreshing this smelled without being cloying, and it lasted throughout the day on my pulse points.

Ugly Flavored Sparkling Water in Cherry, 12 oz – Estimated Value $1 (buy a case of 24 cans for $24)

This cherry flavored sparkling water allows you to get your carbonated craving out of the way while still being calorie-free. This is sparkling water is sugar and sweetener free while also being free of artificial ingredients. I am not a big sparkling water fan, but I thought this drink was refreshing after a hot day when pulling it out of the fridge.

Emerald 100 Calorie Dill Pickle Cashews, 0.62 oz bag – Buy a box of 7, 100-calorie packs for $3.59 (found here for $3.00)

Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Bite Size Cookies, 1.2 oz bag – Buy a 12-count box for $5.54 (found here for $4.54)

No picnic can be complete without snacks, and Fruit for Thought set us up with both a sweet and savory option! The dill pickle cashews pack a punch of briny flavor while keeping the calorie count reasonable, and the cookies are great for soothing a sweet tooth! The portable packaging of both of these makes these perfect snacks for on the go, too.

Marzipops Marzipan Hamburger- Estimated Value $3 (buy a set of 5 similar treats for $15)

Marzipan is one of those treats that fascinates me- I grew up seeing it in the Nutcracker, but I was well into my teens before I tried it for the first time! This hamburger version is the perfect way to enjoy a mess-free hamburger on your picnic, too (which no worrying about food poisoning from the mayo)! I enjoyed the flavor of this I could only eat a little bit at a time due to the overwhelming sweetness.

The above items were included in both the full-size and mini boxes, and this last item is exclusive to the full-size box. Let’s see what it is!

Food Huggers Silicone Food Savers,

Food Huggers Silicone Food Savers - Retail Value $12.95

These are a new concept to me and I absolutely love it! These food huggers are flexible thanks to the silicone, and you can use them on round veggies to help preserve them without reaching for plastic like saran wrap and ziplock baggies (my usual go-to).

This helped my half onion last for a few additional days in the fridge without drying out or making my fridge smell like onions, which is a big plus for me. These can also be used on cans, which is great when you only need half of a can of tomato paste. I recently got a few cans of wet cat food to give as a treat to Duchess, and I only let her have a little bit at a time. The food hugger fit the open can perfectly, which means that my fridge does not smell like cat food! This is a truly great product if you are trying to be more conscientious of the plastic waste you use (or if you just want to save money in the long run on buying saran wrap!).

The Verdict: Fruit for Thought continues to be a joy to receive—the July box was a perfect mix of functional and whimsical products that remind me of picnics when I was a kid! I calculated a value of $48.14 for the items I could find online, which is just under the $44.99 cost of the box plus $4.95 shipping. This isn’t the box for you if you’re interested in a steal of a deal, but if you want thoughtfully curated unique items that are of a high quality, this is a great one. While I enjoyed all of the items in this month’s box, I am tickled pink over my new food huggers—what a great invention!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first box will be the August box (which is Juicy Fruits themed!).

Value Breakdown: This box costs $44.99 + $4.95 shipping, which means that each of the 10 items in the box (counting the can-wraps separately) has an average cost of $4.99.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.
