CHC Vintage (Crazy Hot Clothes Vintage) is a vintage fashion subscription box. You get the option of selecting a dress box or a t-shirt and jewelry box. For the dress box, you can also choose from categories like “90s Grunge,” “Bohemian,” “Vintage Prints,” “Romantic,” and “Minimalist.” Their site has some great examples for each category to help in making your box choice.

There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box; you get a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions instead. I love all the styling tips Nicole and her team included! Their selections for me are always so thoughtful too.

Blue Flower Babydoll Nightie by Eve Stillman - Retail Value Unavailable

This month, Nicole and her team sent me a dress that is intended to be a nightie by the Eve Stillman brand. I am all for wearing lingerie and nightgowns as everyday clothing because fashion is all about breaking boundaries and exploring different styles. I was a teen in the mid to late 90s, so you know automatically I have a soft spot for baby doll style dresses. I would wear dresses like these with my dad’s old flannels and my favorite metallic cherry red metallic boots I got from DEB shop. This piece is truly taking me back! For a modern-day take on grunge, I opted to style this dress with a faux leather biker jacket from my July Shoedazzle review,  a hair net from Pinup in a Pack (review coming soon!) that I wore as a beret, necklace from Jewelry Subscription box (review coming soon!), and finally some rocker open-toed heels from ShoeDazzle (review coming soon for that too!). I was concerned initially due to the silky fabric of this piece since it would have limited stretch, but it fits me perfectly! This dress would be fantastic for the summer in platform sandals, a floppy peasant hat, and multiple silver chain charm necklaces. This could easily transition into fall with a denim jacket or a bulky sweater cardigan, tights, and Doc Marten boots.

Verdict: This CHC Vintage selection was pretty dang cute! I love that Nicole and her team sent me a lightweight dress ideal for hot, muggy August days! I am consistently impressed with the variety of high quality, vintage items that are sent my way from CHC. I am always eager to see what will be in my next box, especially since the stylists at CHC seem to have a real gauge on what appeals to me in terms of style and fit. It feels more like a care package from an old friend than a business, particularly due to the cute handwritten note cards they include! Finding decent plus size pieces can be an absolute challenge if you are a thrifting fiend, so having a convenient service like CHC that finds quality vintage pieces is fantastic!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? CHC Vintage curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. It is a vintage clothing service, so there rarely are duplicates of pieces. CHC offers an extremely personalized service. Sign up and see what they choose for you!

I used to shop the lingerie rack in my twenties, looking for items I could wear as regular clothing. I loved finding silky t shirts meant for sleep and bodysuit that had a conservative t shirt style or tank and the wear these as regular tops. I also liked taking Victoria Secret nightshirts and tucking them into jean skirts.

This strategy was economical and fun.

I love that dress on you, Nicole!

Leslie, yes! I remember being in highschool and not being able to find a leopard print skirt for the life of me. I ended up buying a leopard skirt slip from Kmart and would wear it as a skirt! i still have it though i doubt it will fit. hahahaha

I think that dress/nightie looks super great on you!! I’m usually not into floral print, but this is CUTE!! Also, while I love the reviews for the dresses that this sub sends out… I REALLY want to see the t-shirt and jewelry sub reviewed!! I personally never wear dresses, but a sub that sent me an awesome t-shirt and jewelry each month would be right up my alley!! PLEASE consider?!?!

Kris, glad you enjoyed this review! CHC generally sends some amazinf pieces! They generally do just dress boxes ans accessory boxes too. i don’t think they do a t-shirt box, but that is a good idea!
