June unboxing on YouTube. Canceling sub and trust me I won’t be only one!! Not worth $14. All samples mostly skin care except get this a single eye shadow!!!

JuJu

I would not have been happy to receive that, glad I am unsubscribed.

I watched this month’s Ricky unboxing on YouTube: https://youtu.be/UDhlXazGakk

I haven’t seen any full spoilers on here but it looks like we’re getting the rose toner, some sheet masks, Murad acne cleanser, hair vitamins, and a full size eyeshadow for a z palette.

Im excited for the toner, eyeshadow, and sheet masks. Need to check out the ingredients in the cleanser before I get excited. I’m not sure how I feel about the hair vitamins.

So I try, even though sometimes I fail, to be positive. Doesn’t stop me from asking a lot of questions or observations though. Occasionally I will be a bit negative… while I don’t want to disparage any company, something seems off. In order to not make false accusations I am going to just post my observations…

Observation 1: The feedback and comments are unusually positive on the Cult Crushes instagram page.

Observation 2: There was at least one comment that was clean but very matter of fact calling into question the double billing on a cancelled account that has disappeared in the last couple of hours. There are no other such comments either.

I’m all about transparency and free/honest speech. I do not like fake or hyped up products. Let me see the true reviews and feedback to decide for myself. I hope I am wrong but I at least wanted to make people aware and encourage them to observe for themselves.

Robb Vices, Rachel Zoe BOS and a few other boxes have deleted post from their social media accounts in the past too and I don’t like the practice at all. I’ve had issues getting a response from Cult Crushes.

Jamie

You’re correct. The same thing happened last month. They deleted an entire post along with all the comments on it and then reposted the same thing with comments disabled. Then they made another post, this is all on Instagram, where I noticed many comments went missing. It was a big reason as to why I chose to cancel last month. I don’t trust a company when they do things like that. The month before Lola box blocked me on Instagram when I asked where they got that Tarte palette fro since it had been discontinued.

Nice. I live in a wetland. This looks like it will be good for the skin and keep insects away with it’s ingredient list! Excited to try this!

Anyone else get this email?

June Cult Crushes Billing

Hi Cult Crushers!

Thanks for sticking it out with us this May!

We wanted to let you know that you can expect to billed this weekend for your June Cult Crushes order and will be receiving your box before any new subscribers do.

We’re working hard to improve our customer service and will be sending you a survey soon to see how we can improve!

I received this email as well. I hope it works out!

Yes. No big deal. Obviously, they have seen big changes over the past eight months as demand for this sub grew, and there are always transition periods. I can’t see an objection to that.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Umm I didn’t object to it or make a big deal out of it.

Lisa

Yes I received that email last week and was billed June 2nd. But box has not shipped.

I just got this in some box (maybe an Amazon prime sample box, I can’t remember for sure), it’s pretty nice.

Reply ButtonReply

Shawna

I’m interested! People from the waitlist are supposed to be able to subscribe sometime next week.

Audra

I forgot to cancel this box last month, so it looks like I’m stuck with getting it. I’m hoping there’s more exciting reveals to come, especially since the price increased to $14.

Hmmm. Hoping we get more makeup and a little palette like previous boxes!! That’s why I was so excited to come off the waitlist last month because of all the awesome previous boxes. I hope we don’t get a lot of skincare. I have my favorites I use regularly and don’t need anymore, seeing as im an esthetician and I buy all my professional products at salon supply stores…

I’ve subbed since they started in November 2016. I think we’ve gotten 3 eyeshadow palettes and a highlight palette. So yes, they do send palettes sometimes, but it’s by no means every month. I think there’s only been one month where there was just nothing I wanted in the box. Most of them have been pretty good.

Reply ButtonReply

Olivia

I guess I shouldn’t have just said palettes. I really like all the tools they’ve given, and full size products!

Jamie

In last month’s comments someone posted an email they got from Ricky’s that they received in regards to the box where some ppl got the chi chi palette and some got the pinky rose palette where Ricky’s said palettes wouldn’t be coming anymore. If they sent any palettes it would be once in a blue moon. In other words don’t get your hopes up. Seems to me like Ricky’s is going to a sample box more than anything and most all the samples I’ve seen on their site aren’t makeup.

Lisa

From all the YouTube videos I have seen of new subscribers unboxing people think Cult Crushes is new and palettes are all they know because that is what got their attention. They don’t realize Cult Crushes has been around for 1 maybe 2 years and before Feb I only saw one palette?

Paula

I got the “failed payment” email as well, only i have a valid credit card on file, and they didn’t even attempt to charge it.

When I emailed customer service asking why the automated payment failed, I got no response. I only got an automated email saying my payment has gone through. So no explanation about the payment SNAFU in their system. That’s a pretty bad way to deal with a customer. If it happens again next month, I’m going to cancel. I’m beyond irritated by this company already.

Shelli

I got that email too… So weird.

Toners are great for your skin! Not the astringent type we have here but the nourishing types. They add concentrated levels of the good stuff and prep your skin to absorb the following serum (yes, we should use serum next) and moisturizer better. It’s like dry sponge doesn’t absorb anything, wet sponge does. Since I started using toners and sheet masks, my wrinkles are gone.

I started to get this box at May. So far so good. It’s mean, I like their choice! It is not like ipsy and boxycharm. I can’t wait this month box!

I like Toner. I use every day. That’s why i’m difficult to get wrinkle. My husband is 9 years younger than me. But people think i’m younger than him. (^^; But This country is a little bit difficult to find good toner. I’m really interesting this month.

Dea

I love toners too! I love the rose toner from Pixi (I get it at Target). Rose toners are always good in my book!

Reply ButtonReply

Rashma

I hope we get full size item in this month box.

Reply ButtonReply

od

And that Rosewater Toner looks like sample size to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

I have never used toner and not a fan of skin care so was kinda bummed to see this. Especially since last month was light on make up. Their theme is the prep step. I would like to skip that part and get right to make up!!! This seems like it might be ok suppose to smell good and has many uses.

Reply ButtonReply

TheOtherJulia

Toner is really great for your skin. It helps remove any excess makeup and gets your ph level back to where it needs to be. You can use it a couple of ways; on a cotton ball or round, or spritz it on after you cleanse your skin. I have a couple different ones; I use one in the morning, and another one at night (I got a few in my sub boxes). I find if I don’t use toner my skin just doesn’t feel as soft. So I would encourage you to try it out for a little while. See if it makes a difference in your skin tone and texture, you might really like it! And if you don’t, that’s ok too! 😊

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

It says you can use it as a make up setting spray which is weird if it removes make up? But that is probably what I will try. I think spraying a mist of Rose water on my face will be refreshing.

Sherry Fralic

Oh… I don’t like rose scented products. I love Rickys so hopefully there will be other great spoilers and i can trade this item.

Reply ButtonReply

MzBev

I’m not a fan of the scent either – unless its actual roses! I hope the smell isn’t too strong on this.

There should be a disclaimer that if you get their subscription and use PayPal it doesn’t rebill and you can’t edit your payment method afterwards. I guess it’s great way to keep from being billed for another month but I wanted to keep my subscription alas there customer service was no help.

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

I used a credit card to pay last month, and still see no evidence that I was actually subscribed. Which I suppose is a good thing considering I didn’t want to continue at $14 after the totally disappointing May box, but I don’t like this uncertainty, especially since I haven’t been able to reach their customer service and they don’t reply to emails.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Juju,
When I go to my subscriptions it only shows the number after I hit edit. It does show that my last box shipped but that’s all, is that all you see or is it blank?

I removed my CC# and made my address nonsense with the thought I’d resubscribe through a different email but now I’m not sure I want to.

Em

I’ve been trying to figure this out… So does it automatically cancel or can you go in and put another PayPal CC info in? I’d MUCH rather use PayPal than trust another company with my CC info if I can help it.

Anna

I received an email saying my payment failed and this is what it says:

Thank you.

Apparently since it didn’t set my subscription up as recurring there’s no way to edit my subscription information. It’s disappointing and I’ve been waiting for a response from their customer service for a week. I emailed because I couldn’t edit my information but five business days since I sent email is ridiculous time frame to get no response.
