Welcome to my favorite time of the month: the time when my Joya box arrives and I literally run into my house to open it! Lately, Joya has been including this "thank you" card with some info about where to find them online. It's a nice little intro to the box.

collections by joya canvas pouch

Lately, all the jewelry in my Joya box has been tucked into a canvas pouch just like this one. I appreciate this both because it's an extra layer of protection in the mail and because pouches like this are great for packing jewelry when traveling or gift-giving.

This month's pouch was filled with three items: a necklace and two pairs of earrings. I love the mix of bold color and simpler gold tones that was included in this month's assortment.

Mayan Necklace — Retail Value $48.95

This pendant necklace is simple with a twist, which is exactly what I look for in jewelry! However pretty I think it looked against my dress when I popped it on for the photo, it wouldn't have worked out for real-life wear—when I walked, it tucked itself under my neckline. That's part of the reason I don't have a ton of pieces that are this length (18"), but I'm going to hang onto this one to wear when I'm dressed in a more accommodating neckline.

Perfect Stud Earrings — Retail Value $36.95

I also don't own very many pairs of stud earrings, partially because I often wear my hair down and feel they get hidden. But, this is one pair I'll definitely add into the rotation. They're a little oversized and their curved circles catch the light in a really lovely way. They also have a hammered finished—my fave!

Jori Earrings, Magenta — Retail Value $68.95

I recognized these earrings right away both because they were featured on Joya's Instagram page as a summer must-have recently and because I received them in a different colorway (ivory) back in March! They have since become one of my most-worn pairs—I love that they're fun and whimsical without looking too juvenile. They also add an easy pop of brightness to my often neutral and earth-toned outfits. I don't think I have a single article of clothing that's this magenta color, so my first instinct was to pass them along, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder if they'd be a fun way to change things up. I might hang onto them for a few weeks and see if I can work them into my ensembles in a way that feels organic and 'me.'

By the way, this is the first time in the 10 months since I've been subscribed to Collections by Joya that I've received a repeat item, but it was a welcome surprise!

collections by joya gift packaging

Here's a quick shot of the gift wrap that comes in almost every month's box! It's a cardstock squeezebox that arrives with a pretty piece of raffia ribbon. I always save a little bit of the sizzle from inside the shipping box to pad whatever I might put in this gift box—in this case, the cuff bracelet.

Quick Note: For anyone who follows my Joya reviews each month, you might remember that I had a slight quality issue with the Ayla earrings in last month's box. After repairing them with pliers, I'm pleased to say I haven't had any more issues with the earrings breaking, and I've been wearing them with regularity since. They're so versatile!

Verdict: Collections by Joya has surprised and pleased me once again! Yet again, this month's offerings introduced me to pieces that I may not have chosen for myself but am really looking forward to wearing, as well as an old favorite in a new color. It was such a welcome selection. This box costs $49.95, including shipping. The three items in my box added up to $154.85, which, as always, is an unbelievably good deal.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Order by 7/8 to get the July box!

Value Breakdown: At $49.95 for this box, you're paying approximately $16.65 per item. For such high-quality accessories with beautiful detailing, that's a fantastic deal.

Anyone interested in swapping for the Jori Earrings? (I’m new to swapping so I don’t know if I can say that here…)

Eeep, I think they’re so fun, but even as someone who’s into it, I do think there’s a limit. There are a few amazing, statement geometric pairs of earrings on Joya’s site that I really hope I end up with down the line, like the Geometric Statement Earrings or the Sonia Earrings. I’m also into the Half-Moon Bay Pendant Necklace and the Tribeca Bar Necklace. Lots of good non-tassel options. 🙂

Oh no. I just cannot bear another tasseled anything! When will they go away??

I know!!! Right? I’ve yet to see a pair I’d wear. None of these items are impressive nor worth the cost of the box.

The only thing I love is the necklace. I would have to shorten is to a 15/16 inch. Your right 18 is too long. I don’t understand the tassel trend but C’est La Vie . Different Strokes for different folks. I think the price is too high.

I hadn’t even considered shortening the necklace, that’s a great idea! Sometimes I just fasten the clasp of awkward-length necklaces a little farther down the chain, but that doesn’t always work if the link is too small. I like your DIY spirit. 🙂

Ahhh! I had to put my subscription on hold this month but these Jori earrings were the ones I was waiting for! I think I may just pull the trigger and buy them. Christen, you say you have worn the ivory ones a lot? I’m leaning towards those although I probably should put more color in my wardrobe.

Ah, dang it! I’m sorry that happened! I’d say I wear the ivory ones 2-3 times per week. I know what you mean about adding more color into your wardrobe (like I mentioned above, I wear a lot of neutrals), but I have found that the ivory gives a nice pop without being too loud. I love love love them!
