Technicolor Floral Dress - Retail Value Unavailable

This vintage dress is such a wild mix of electric neons next to a tan brown. The fabric is rather thin and extremely stretchy. When I initially saw this piece,  I was not sure I would be able to get it on this bodacious bod. I did, but it is a slight bit tighter than even I would prefer. It may look different with some Spanx on, but I rarely wear body shapers these days. I don’t mind the short length since I love mini dresses, but my chest is a bit too big for this dress. The fabric hem hits me about midway on my chest, which is a bit of a peeve of mine.  I could see styling this with a ton of gold accessories like Nicole and her team suggested (including my sparkly, gold, platform shoes) and giving my hair some Farrah Fawcett feathered curls in this ensemble.  I need a gold plated “Nicole” necklace to complete this look I am envisioning.  This definitely would not be appropriate for work, but would be perfect for a girls’ night of dancing out on the town with my best gal pals!

Verdict: This month’s selection was a unique one from CHC Vintage! It had some sizing issues, but you will have that with vintage pieces especially when it comes to plus sizes! I feel it definitely appeals to my aesthetic and as always, CHC had me in mind when they sent me this dress! CHC Vintage’s subscription always feels so personalized and considerate. I am always impressed since finding quality, vintage, plus pieces can be like looking for a needle in a haystack!

Nicole I wish you could go through my closet and help me come up with outfit pairings. I love all of your reviews and read them just to see the outfits you put together.

The color and pattern on that dress is so cool! You couldn’t ask for a more flattering color for your skin & hair.

I try and avoid anything where Spanx or other “body armor “ is required in summer months- too hot!
This is the kind of dress where the size label isn’t important- you just gotta go with whatever fits and looks good.

Always enjoy your reviews.

Hi! This is Nicole from CHC Vintage. We picked this piece for Nicole based on the color scheme, her love for bodycon cuts and showing off her body. The fun of our service is that you can play with fashion with no real risk because every piece is returnable for a replacement. Sometimes risks work and sometimes they don’t. Thank you Nicole for all of the great reviews!

Hi! This is Nicole from CHC Vintage. We knew that this dress was a risk. It was picked based on the color scheme and her love for bodycon and showing off her body. The fun of our subscription is that it allows you to take fashion risks which sometimes work and sometimes don’t. That is why every single piece you get from CHC is fully returnable for any reason. Thanks for your great reviews Nicole!

You are beautiful and the colors look amazing with your skin as hair. The dress is an unflattering fit and fabric. It doesn’t do you justice.

That hemline is terrible! I always hate seeing that and just knowing my chest will look ridiculous.

That being said, you are rocking the rest of that dress! It wasn’t a good shape for you, but you still look great.

Love your review, as always.

Amy

It’s a terrible tight unflattering dress on a pretty girl.

Actually, I think the print is really fun, and the colors look great on you! If the fit were different, I think you would kill it in this dress. Maybe I am the only one, but I would totally wear it – I think it would look cute with platform sandals, cute sunglasses and gold jewelry!

I, too, think it could be cute, if only they had sent the correct size.

It’s definitely not the size. The cut of the dress is very unflattering for the fabric. Bodycon dresses can be very flattering if cut right or right fabric is used. This babydoll-cut dress style wouldn’t look good even if it was looser.

amarante

This is hideous in every possible way and completely unflattering. I’ve seen you in stylish stuff that is way more flattering.

They couldn’t pay me $35 to go out in public in that shmatta 🙂

I think you’re being a good sport about this but the dress is cruddy in every respect. I resell vintage and this stretchy style is a dime a dozen at second-hand stores. You can typically find those dresses in clearance section because literally no one wants to buy them.

It isn’t my favorite piece from CHC, for sure. But I do like stretchy tight materials so I am weirdo in that respect. But this one was a wee bit too tight and didn’t fit me well. Especially in the boobs. I do think they had me in mind, though, Especially with the color scheme. And I never shy away from tight stuff! Haha
