Jewelry Subscription Box Review April 2018
Flower Gem Necklace
Well, I know I love big statement pieces, but I am not hook line and sinker on this one. It just isn’t my style. The material is a lightweight, antique brass with gold finish. The ornate flowers are detailed with iridescent plastic gems. This could be a great piece for a prom or a wedding, but I also imagine one of my queen friends would wear this well. Alora and Dixie— I am looking at you two babes! This necklace could also be worn with a subdued LBD to bring some glitz.
Golden Disc Earrings
These earrings may be my favorite item in April’s box. I find myself drawn to lots of circular and ball-shaped jewelry. These earrings caught my eye immediately. The material is an incredibly lightweight gold plated material. The finish on them is shiny, yet looks like someone used sandpaper to give them a more worn look. I paired them with a dress I reviewed in my most recent Gwynnie Bee review to add a touch of gold.
Pink Prism Ring, Size 8
Finally, I received an Emerald cut rose pink gem ring with hot pink opalescent accents. The band is made of a deep, gunmetal silver. The piece is not cohesive with the other two included, but it stands out alone perfectly well. The iridescent pink accents are what truly make this a standout piece.
Verdict: The collection this month was a bit of a motley crew of styles, but each was a vibrant statement piece. I didn’t feel this month was really selected for me, though. I don’t feel that my style was necessarily in mind when these were picked out. However, I did like the earrings and am pleased knowing I will get a ton of wear from these versatile beauties! Jewelry Subscription box recently updated their pricing, but I still find $36.99 to be a fair cost for three jewelry pieces, especially since that cost includes shipping!
