Now, let’s talk snacks!
Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop. Sea Salt Popcorn, 0.6 oz. - Value$0.56 (buy a 4.8 oz. bag for $4.49)
I LOVE popcorn! I normally just pop it myself on stovetop, but this was just as good and a lot easier. This was crunchy and lightly salted. I now need to try all of the other flavors.
Hippeas Maple Haze, 1oz – Value $1.33
Objectively these are good, but the flavor wasn’t quite for me. It tasted a little like maple glazed bacon which generally is fine, but in a snack is not necessarily my thing. I do want to try the other flavors though because I think I would like them!
Nii Bar Peanut Butter, 1.8 oz. - Value $2.99 (buy a carton of 12 for $32.99)
First thing, I am not vegan. That being said I don’t mind giving these types of things a try because sometimes they are very good. I am just generally not a fan of the consistency of these kinds of snack bars. They are a little too dense for me, but the flavor was pretty good. It’s hard to mess up peanut butter!
Included in this box is a coupon code for the Nii Bars.
Aloha Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bar, 1.9 oz. - Value $2.50 (buy a box of 12 for $30)
Again, this type of bar isn’t something I am a huge fan of, but the flavor was pretty good. This one is a little different because it is a protein bar, but it still has that dense consistency.
Another coupon is included in the box for Aloha Bars.
The Spice & Tea Exchange Cinnamon and Sugar, 1.5 oz. - Value $4.89 (buy a 4.5 oz. bag for $13.89)
I was so happy to see this spice mixture in my box because I really love cinnamon and sugar toast. That’s exactly how I tried this little package too! The sugar is turbinado so it’s a bigger grain and the cinnamon flavor was very strong, in the best possible way. Very good!
Stur Powder Tropical Punch Mix, 0.35 oz. - Value $0.43 (buy a box of 7 for $2.99 at Target)
This powder mix was surprisingly good! This tasted very much like tropical punch and was quite flavorful for just a small amount. It’s only 15 calories per packet, but it doesn’t taste like it! It’s a great way to liven up your plain water.
NuttZo Smooth Organic Peanut Pro 2Go, 0.67 oz. - Value $1.40 (buy a box of 10 packets for $13.99 on Amazon)
This small packet of peanut butter not only has peanuts in it, but also brazil nuts, hazelnuts, almonds, cashews, flax seeds, and sunflower seeds. You can definitely taste more than just the peanuts. I don’t think I would put this on toast, but it is a nice snack to have for the energy. Really good!
Fruit Bliss Organic Turkish Apricots, 1.76 oz. - Value $1.97 (buy a case of 6, 5 oz. bags for $33.54)
Dried fruit isn’t my go-to when it comes to snacking, but these apricots were really good. They were sweet, moist, and filling. You could mix these with some nuts for a snack or throw them in a salad for a sweet bite.
True Citrus Powder Drink Mix, 5 packets - Value $2 (buy a box of 10 packets for $3.99)
True Citrus Lemon Flavor Packets, 8 packets - Value $1.25 (buy a box of 32 packets for $4.99)
This variety pack included both powder drink mixes and also lemon flavor packets. I myself tried the lemonade drink packet in a tall glass of water. I love lemonade, though I am not a huge fan of these no calorie drink mixes typically. This tasted like lemonade and was refreshing, but I did get that slight Stevia aftertaste which is why I don’t typically go for these types of mixes. Worth trying!
Verdict: This is my first time trying UrthBox and I am not sure that I would again mostly because the item I liked the best was the popcorn. Not sure if this is because I am not vegan so these aren’t snacks I typically go for, but perhaps in the future I would try the non-vegan option. The value of the box is $19.32 which breaks even with the $19.99 box price tag, but is much improved from last month.
