Now, onto the snacks!

Hippeas Far Out Fajita, 1oz - Total Value $2.60

These chickpea puffs are already a favorite of mine! I first discovered them at Starbucks, oddly enough, and always grab a bag when I stop there. They have a great airy, crunchy texture with tons of fajita flavor without being spicy. As a vegan, it's easy to miss the texture of cheese curls but these totally satisfy that craving! I love seeing more products out there made from chickpeas instead of wheat or corn.

R Bar Cranberry Cashew, 1.6 oz - Value $1.75 (buy a 10-pack for $17.50)

This bar (or rather, disc) has only three ingredients: cashews, dates, and cranberries. I’m usually not a fan of chopped nuts and fruits shaped into a bar but this was so good. I think the unsweetened dried cranberries were the key. There was a great texture from the cashews and perfect sweetness from the dates and cranberries. It was a very satisfying snack that really filled me up!

SunRype Fruit Source Apple Strawberry 1.3oz - Value $0.89 (buy a case of 25 bars for $22.25)

Mmm! This was so good. I love fruit leathers and this was like one thick fruit leather. It’s got tons of fruit in (apple puree concentrate, apple & pear & elderberry & strawberry & lemon juice concentrates) it and was so nice and sweet with only fruit sugars. Plus, I didn't notice any crunch from strawberry seeds which was very nice - no one likes picking seeds out of their teeth!

The box included a buy 1 get one free coupon for a SunRype bar.

ilMorso Americano Coffee Bar 4g - Value $1.56 (buy a box of 16 for $25)

Loved this! This small chocolate square tasted just like a chocolate covered coffee bean, which is something I’ve always loved. It was smooth like chocolate with no coffee grit and packs the caffeine equal to a cup of espresso. The light bitterness of the espresso was perfectly balanced by the chocolate. I split this one with my husband and he was a huge fan. We've been watching our sugar intake and didn't feel guilty enjoying this treat with only 1 gram of sugar.

Surf Sweets Organic Fruity Bears, 0.5 oz - Value $0.35 (buy a 12-pack of 2.75 oz. pouches for $25.71)

These were a repeat from last month's box, but this time I got some of the berry flavored bears instead of just citrus. There were six fruity bears in this tiny pack. Because I've been eating less sugar, these tasted especially sweet with the sugar crystals on the outside. Just like last time, they weren’t too gummy (didn’t stick to my teeth) and had a crunch from the sugar crystals they’re coated with. The cherry and strawberry flavors were so tasty, I definitely prefer berry flavors to citrus!

Roar Chocolate 0.32 oz - Value $0.99 (buy a bag of 25 for $19.95)

Yum! This little chocolate square was so creamy and just enough sweet even without any added sugar. It wasn’t bitter at all (like dark chocolate can be) with a great smooth texture. I split this with my husband and he loved it too! I've had vitamin gummies and chews before but never chocolate - this seems like a fantastic way to get me to take my vitamins. This little treat is packed with vitamins including vitamin C, B12 calcium and folic acid to name a few, all things I should be getting more of in my diet.

The box also included a coupon for 30% off a purchase of the vitamin chocolates which makes a purchase even more tempting.

Wild Minis Pink Himalayan Salt - Value $1.55

I love salt. I am one of those people who adds salt to food before trying it because I never trust that anything is salty enough for me! I sprinkled this pink Himalayan salt over some asparagus and tossed it with olive oil, garlic, and ground pepper before roasting. So tasty! It seemed even saltier than my usual sea salt. The mini package gave me plenty of salt to use in a lot of recipes - I make roasted veggies for dinner at least one night a week.

Stur Powder Drink Mix Lovely Lemonade - Value $0.47 (buy a box of 42 for $17.95)

I don't usually add anything to my water, and if I do it's bubbles or a squeeze of lime. I usually avoid drink mixes like this because they're often full of sugar or artificial sweeteners, and I don't need extra motivation to drink more water. This drink mix packet is 2 servings but doesn’t clearly say how much water to add it to. I had a 12 oz water bottle and guessed at half a packet. I gave the bottle a quick shake and it dissolved quickly, making the water cloudy and lemonade-looking. The flavor was as refreshing as lemonade without the intense sweetness of traditional lemonade. This Stur mix is sweetened with cane sugar and stevia resulting in 4g of sugar per serving. The stevia aftertaste wasn’t very strong and I don’t typically mind the distinct taste of this sweetener anyway. This was a nice treat but not something I would consume regularly.

Your Tea Energy Tea 1 bag - Value $0.63 (buy a box of 40 teabags for $25)

I've been seeing the Your Tea brand of tea in a lot of subscription boxes lately but this was the first time I gave it a try. I steeped the tea bag in hot water for about 5 minutes as recommended. I noticed that the tea steeped water settled at the bottom so I gave it a quick stir before drinking. It had a very typical and unexciting regular tea taste- my husband had a sip and said it tasted like the tea they serve at our favorite Chinese restaurant. I sipped on this cup of tea when I was feeling like I needed a cup of coffee in the afternoon but it didn’t give me quite the pick me up I was hoping for.

Verdict: This month's box had a value of $10.79. This lands well below the $19.99 cost for the box (and only a bit above with the $10 savings with coupon.) Just like last month, I hope Urthbox works to increase the value in this box and includes fewer small samples. This month's box had a great variety of snacks and I really enjoyed them. The Hippeas, coffee bar, and vitamin bars were al HUGE hits for me and things I would buy again. I appreciate being introduced to some new things in this box but seeing a repeat of last month's box was a disappointment.

I was not a fan of my first Urthbox. I got it for free from their promotion, first box free just pay shipping, so a total of $5.99. Honestly? I feel ripped off paying $5.99 for what I got. A bunch of powder water flavor packets, a little packet of 4 overly sweet gummy bears (that tasted and felt more like blocks of jello-y jam), a tiny box of instant jell-o (really?!) and a couple snack size bags of organic puffs. The only thing that seemed like it could be retailed for more than $1 was a bag of cookie chips which took up the majority of the box and weight. Unfortunately they were insanely sweet and I wasn’t a fan. But I felt altogether the variety was poor, plus I know a LOT of people who tried the gluten free box and received items containing gluten in their boxes. What kind of company does that B.S.? Also you don’t know when your package will arrive unless you hunt down their support email (which isn’t listed anywhere on their website) and ask for the tracking number. Why can’t they just email it to you in the first place? No idea.

Luckily it was easy for me to cancel my subscription and I won’t be trying it again, nor recommending to anyone.

I ordered the gluten free box for my son. The first box took awhile to arrive, maybe about 6-7 weeks or so. However, he really didn’t care for it, so I contacted Urthbox to cancel. Last week I noticed they still charged my credit card $119, so I would be wary doing business with them. Canceling doesn’t seem to be so easy and surprise charges are no fun, especially when they are over a hundred dollars.

I like that they have additional offers for saving and a decent first coupon. However, I have read on other sites that this box is difficult to cancel..
