Vadine Sister Sunhorn Necklace - Value $86

This piece is made of brass and gilded with gold (or soaked in a silver bath if you went with the silver option.)

UPDATE: Emma & Chloe let us know this necklace is not meant to be adjustable.

You can adjust the length by pulling the ends, too. I love that I can put this over my head and not have to worry about a clasp!

Here it is on:

All Emma & Chloe pieces also come with a certificate of authenticity:

And jewelry care instructions:

Verdict: I think this is a fab jewelry subscription. And I really love the necklace this month! The adjustable length makes it super versatile and easy to wear. If you love delicate jewelry like I do, I highly recommend this subscription.

Plus I love that they let you specify if you want gold or silver - I think that really helps cut out the risk of this subscription. And the packaging and presentation of this subscription box are amazing. This definitely qualifies as a gift to yourself - it was so fun to unbox!

I’ve been stalking the Emma and Chloe site while waiting on mine to get here, and I noticed that there’s a bunch of instagram photos of the necklace up now and it looks like everyone does have it at different lengths so now I’m wondering if it IS supposed to adjust? I know they verified that it wasn’t supposed to be, but I wonder why it shows it at what looks to be a 16, 18, and 20 inch length in the different pictures?

Is it still possible to receive this months box or would I be receiving July if I signed up?

Sarah

Yes it is Janie! The designer piece is being revealed today, you have time 🙂

This is my first box and I was REALLY worried about the quality of the jewelry. But once I received it, I was pleasantly surprised – this piece is so delicate and does not look cheap at all. I got a silver version with the blue stone. So pretty. And yeah, I agree with another commenter below- I don’t think the length is adjustable which is fine with me 🙂
I think I am going to stick around with this subscription.
Thank you for the review, Liz!

It’s beautiful. Does anyone know what the horn is made of? Thank you

I just received mine (am actually wearing it right now). I do NOT think it’s meant to be adjustable. I think the closure is crimped closed so that it can’t be moved. I used to make jewelry so I think I’m right on this. I just tried again to move it and it’s not budging! I noticed the ends are exactly symmetrical so I think it was meant to stay exactly as it. I love it regardless!
Also very cool how they have the ends in the front and the horn hanging in the back on one of the pictures in the booklet.

I ordered this with the half off coupon, and am excited to receive it. I think both the gold and silver versions of this necklace are super pretty.

How easy was it for everyone to adjust the length of their necklace? Mine seems to be so tight that I didn’t think it was adjustable! I’m afraid of breaking it…

Erin

Mine was crimped shut. I was able to adjust it only after (gently) pushing the crimp open with needle-nose pliers. It just took a sec and was worth it to make it longer.

Andrea

I can’t get mine to budge either, afraid I’m going to break it. Just wish it a little longer or shorter, don’t like it sitting on my boobs, lol.

Lesley

I was wondering the same thing. Mine doesn’t seem to want to budge!

I definitely had to use a little force – it didn’t adjust super easily. Hope that helps a bit!

sarah

thanks, Liz! I’ll check mine again tonight. When I first tried it on, I wished it was like an inch longer, so I hope I can lengthen it!

Rhubarb

Liz are you certain it’s supposed to be adjustable?

Alex

Oooooh I like it. I don’t think I’ve had a month that the jewelry wasn’t lovely. 💕💕

They recently had a flash sale, of 50% off items in the shop. It actually is lasting through today (6/20), though the one I had in mind has sold out (the braided bracelet).

They also have a sale now, of 20% off shop items with signup for a subscription. I don’t know if it holds for ongoing subscribers, or is an enticement for new ones only.

Melissa

Hello Carol,

This is Melissa from Emma & Chloe. The 20% is ongoing throughout the duration of your subscription. You can buy any item from our online shop using this discount. The discount will be placed automatically once you sign into your account.

There were a couple of months earlier this year that were major misses for me (and for a lot of people, from what I’ve read) – I came close to cancelling, but I’m glad that I didn’t. I’ve been very happy with the last few months, and what I especially like is that these are very original pieces. I like originality, and this sub is a relatively inexpensive way to find original jewelry that’s surprisingly high quality, for the price.

Happy to hear you’ve been enjoying the past few months! I agree about the high quality for the price – I’m very impressed with the jewelry!
