Goodbeing Box Subscription Review – February 2017

Good Being box is a natural and organic beauty box. Each month you’ll receive a box customized to your beauty profile. (This is a box that will have some variation between subscribers.)

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: GoodeBeing Box

The Cost: $21 a month

The Products: Eco-friendly beauty and wellness products.

Ships to: US only.

Check out my Good Being reviews and the Eco-friendly Subscription Box Directory for similar boxes!

Every box comes with cards detailing each product.

Now, onto the items!

OSEA Ocean Cleanser – 1 oz (Travel Size) Value $16

I really love the OSEA brand (another fab subscription box discovery for me!) It’s made with only natural and organic ingredients – and I just love the formula. It’s non-foaming, but it still does a great job of cleansing my skin without drying it out. (And the scent is amazing!)

The Seaweed Bath Co. Restoring Marine Serum – 5 ml Value $7.50

(Good to know for swaps – this has an inner foil seal.)

This is a cream/gel hybrid serum that absorbs almost instantly and left my skin feeling super smooth. The natural scent is a nice bonus, too.

Biodara Coconut Matcha Brightening Mask – 15 ml Value $6

This powder mask is designed to be mixed with equal parts water to create a paste mask. I love the matcha tea scent of this mask, and it was super gentle on my skin. (I can’t say I noticed a big difference in my skin after using it, though.)

American Provenance Natural Lip Balm in Cardamom – Value $3

This lip balm has a subtle Cardamom scent, and it provides a lot of moisture and a little sheen.

Mi-Me Gray Label Bright Lemongrass Salt Scrub – 2 oz Value $18

This salt scrub smells bright and citrusy! (It’s salt instead of sugar, so make sure to avoid using it on any cuts or scrapes.) The formula is made with a blend of oils, so it’s a little oily going on, but it rinses away to leave the perfect amount of moisture.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $50. I think that is good for a $21 natural beauty box, especially when you consider that Good Being lets you pick a sample every month.

  1. I had my first Goodbeing box this month and really wasn’t impressed… my box value was only around $30 and the products just weren’t a good fit for me. I mentioned rosacea and extreme skin sensitivity/ dryness as my primary concerns in my profile. The only item that was a good fit was the one I picked (Osea cleanser). Besides this item (valued at $16) I received the Kaia detox deodorant (valued at $7.50), Biodara mask ($6), tiny seaweed day cream sample ($2.50), and tiny dried out lipstick sample ($1) that was definitely leftover from the summer since my profile shows a promo code that expired in September… in short the Biodara mask caused a major skin reaction, and the day cream sample caused irritation in a spot test. Going to give it another month and unless it’s markedly better I plan to cancel.

    • Hi Megan – We’d love to help you trouble shoot here to make sure your next box is a better fit for you. The products you received are all (usually) good for sensitive / rosacea prone skin (mine is too). Of course, part of the process with a trial and discovery box like this is tohelp determine what’s not a good fit for you since we’re all so different, as well as also hopefully finding some winners 🙂 What works well for one sensitive / rosacea prone person may not work well for another! Regarding the Suntegrity, it is something we have had in stock for a while, but it should not have been dried out at all and we’re happy to replace it if it is. Most of our samples/products have a shelf life of at least a year, usually longer, like any product on store shelves, with a few exceptions. Of course, things happen from time to time and we’re happy to address it. We hope to receive an email from you 🙂 [email protected]

  2. So glad that you are reviewing this box. It is my all time favorite. I am always happy with the products I receive and really like that I can pick products. They do a good job following my profile and I like that I can choose not to get makeup, all vegan, scent preferences, etc. The $21 price point is great for a natural beauty box. I couldn’t be happier!

  3. This box is always a hit for me. The value can vary greatly from month to month depending on what you pick and the other items you’re sent, but it’s always well over the box cost, and I’ve been introduced to some great brands!

    • That’s great to hear! Yes, they can vary month to month and member to member for exactly the reasons stated, as well as what are the best fits according to the Member Profile are and what we have available. We hope you keep enjoying it and mission accomplished if you’ve found some new brands you love!

  4. This box looks tempting! I have so many subs already though…

    • I’m dropping Allure and Popsugar for this 🙂 (well, I already signed up, but I’m dropping them after th BF deals run out! lol)

  5. The value of my first box was significantly more than this review. I got the lip balm, serum, and mask, but I also got a yuri body lotion travel size and a mychelle perfect c radiance lotion in full size valued at $45. I had planned to open my Sunday riley tidal next after finishing the tatcha from my byrdie box, so I’m torn. Does anyone have experience with the mychelle lotion? I believe it’s new.

Great first box and am looking forward to selection for next month.

    • Hi Michelle, what did you think of the Tatcha? Is it as amazing as you’d expect it to be given it’s super high RV? I’ve been holding off on opening it, both because I have several other products open at the moment, ~and~ I’ve been debating if I want to keep it or swap it for something (hopefully) fabulous! Would love to hear your thoughts on it. I have dry skin, and at 49 can use all the anti-wrinkle help I can get… I don’t have experience with this particular MyChelle lotion, though my experience with the brand in general (or at least the particular items I tried) was that even the ones that were for dry skin, weren’t quite as moisturizing as I would have liked. But I may just have not been using the right products…

      • Hi! OK thanks, this product is for normal skin. I’d like to think the tatcha was worth the price but I guess I don’t know what I was expecting. At 50, I’m not going to look young again. But it’s very nice enough and it feels hydrating in a way that my somewhat dry skin has never experienced. I certainly would not consider paying full price.

I’m in the same boat with the Sunday riley. I have so many products so should I swap it and move on the mychelle? Or whatever my next box brings.

I’m seriously considering dropping the $10-25 beauty boxes in favor of the luxe cleaner ones like clean beauty, heroes, pearlesque or yuzen, that are more focused on skin care.

      • I really liked the MyChelle Perfect C Radiance and felt like it made a difference. It wasn’t highly moisturizing and I felt it worked better when I used a serum (any serum) with it. Then I didn’t need a lot of it. I love my Goodbeing box, they send some great natural brands and the price is amazing. I have had it for 8 months now and never been disappointed!

    • Without naming any brands, all I can say is exquisite facial cream is worth the cost when you find one you love. Just got an email from Sephora that they now carry the La Mer line.

      • I’m so excited about that, because now I can finally get 20% off La Mer without having to wait for the annual holiday sale at Blue Mercury. Now I’m just hoping they start to carry it in the actual stores where I live.

  6. The Seaweed Bath Co. lotion is a big hit – so hard to find a rich moisture/ light application combo. I like the Osea cleanser, but you do need to use it with a toner.

  7. I love that we now can pick two products in our Goodbeing boxes. ❤ This is my favorite sub!
