Flora Remedia Let Go Perfume - Value $18.23

I am completely obsessed with this fragrance! It smells SO GOOD. This is my favorite perfume I've received in a subscription box in a long time. It's a very sensual floral with undertones of sweet orange. I love it!

1 Hour Break Oral Spray - Value $29

Wow! I am having all sorts of feelings about the inclusion of this item in this month's Goddess Provisions. This is a sublingual spray containing kava root as the primary ingredient, and it's formulated to bring calmness and allow for meaningful meditation. I am impressed that GP sent such a high-value item, and such an important herb. I am also a little concerned because kava is a powerful ceremonial ingredient, and I don't know if it should be taken capriciously. It has historically been used to put people into a trance state to enable them to engage in difficult rituals. I also worry about its addictive properties. I have used it before, and it is very calming, but I would say proceed with caution, and of course, listen to your body.

Modern Minerals Lip Gloss - Value $25

This is a really nice, crystal infused lip gloss. It provided a tiny bit of shine, but I could not get it to even show up a little in the swatch picture. I was impressed, however, at how well it moisturized my lips! This is excellent!

Chocolita Lavender Dreamtime Bar - Value $4.86

You can't really see it too well from the picture, but this little chocolate square has actual lavender leaves in it! I am a complete sucker for chocolate, so I have to report that it was, of course, delicious. I didn't really notice it making me sleepy at all, but I think that goal might be optimistic when blended with dark chocolate.

Bad Girl Good Tea Flower Crown Tea - Value $8.99

I love this tea! I have had it several times before, and it's awesome. It is very smooth with a subtle sweetness, and because of the dried flowers, it smells incredible.

Technician of the Sacred Sticker Set - Listed Value $6

These stickers are so beautiful! I wasn't able to find them online, but I did find the website for Technician of the Sacred (linked above). I am not usually too excited about stickers, but these are absolutely gorgeous.

Polychrome Jasper - Listed Value $20

This is not a blurry picture; do not adjust your set! This is how this stone actually looks. Isn't it cool looking? This is a stone I definitely do not have, and I am so pleased to have received it! Jasper is excellent for grounding/root chakra, but the color splashes on this particular type of jasper also assist with emotional balance.

Verdict: Goddess Provisions is so awesome! It's one of my favorite boxes. This month I love the fragrance, the jasper, and even the stickers! I might be a little overly cautious about the oral spray, but I am definitely impressed that Goddess Provisions included it. Bold move! The value of everything totals around $112, which is incredible for a $33 box! They always seem to provide a great value for the cost.

I don’t know much about kava and it’s calming effects but if you notice the “other ingredients” lists grain alcohol and that is a central nervous system depressant. Even though I’m interested in trying this, I’m not sure it’s worth the risk. It’s pretty iffy whe you’re dealing with “natural” supplements that aren’t FDA approved. Remember the ephedrine issues. The rest of the box looks great though.

I use kava on occasion for anxiety attacks and if you use a quality brand (such as above) there are no negative side effects and it’s wonderfully calming for a couple of hours. Anyhow, this box is awesome and I’m highly considering subscribing now.

I don’t think the amount of kava you are going to get in a spray is too significant, unless they’ve done some amazing breakthrough on concentrating the active ingredient. The health risks of kava come with large doses and usually over time. Think about this more like the rum in a rum flavored chocolate (as opposed to a fifth of rum).

it does say to start with 15 sprays and increase in 5s. that seemed like a lot to me. i’m going to have to look into it, i’ve been hesitant to try it and appreciate all the info in the comments!

Good point, totally makes sense when you put it in perspective. I’m always tempted by the reviews for this box. I think it’s time to subscribe 🙂

I like that you put it this way because I know nothing about it, and the review as well as one of the comments made me feel reluctant/anxious about kava. But now I’m thinking of other boxes, like Rob Vices, which includes liquor, and no one is freaking out about that–yet alcohol can hurt your liver!! Moderation is everything

I hadn’t heard of Kava root before but I googled it and copied this from webMD (this wasn’t the total description, there was more about how it is used etc. but it was enough for me to decide not to use it)

There are some BIG safety concerns about kava. Many cases of liver damage and even some deaths have been traced to kava use. As a result, kava has been banned from the market in Europe and Canada. This ban has hurt the economies of Pacific Island countries that export kava. Despite health concerns, kava has not been taken off the U.S. market.

People drink kava that’s why. I would spray it but wouldn’t drink it

^yep true. There are all kinds of kava products, supplements, etc. But as with anything unfamiliar do some research, I try to find facts before fearmongering as a lifelong worrywart, lol! 🙂

Thank you for including this, Donna.
