Liliputiens Dancing Walter Dragon toy - Value $9.88
This is adorable – it’s a coiled plush dragon toy that you can pull and it’ll retract and vibrate. It also has strings on top so you can tie it in place for babies to play with. This is cute, but definitely too young for my 15-month-old. I guess I’ll end up gifting it for Christmas.
HABA Allegro Stacking Ball – Value $22.20
This product looks like it’s discontinued from the manufacturer, but I’m estimating value on Amazon.
This is cute – it’s a soft ball that is actually four rings that stack onto a soft post. There are different colors and patterns and such. It’d be an interesting little puzzle/toy for a baby.
The sides that go towards each other match in pattern to show which pieces go which way on the ball. This is a cute idea, but it’s also younger than what my 15-month old is doing right now.
Janod Wire Pull Turtle – Value $29.95?
FYI - I can’t find this exact pull toy on their website, but I’m estimating the value off of the other pieces they do have listed.
This toy is very well made and I love that it’s a combination of a pull toy and a wire/bead toy. I gifted this to my nephew at his first birthday party and he was obsessed with it right away!
Kizingo Right-Handed Spoon – Value $9.99
This is an interesting idea – this spoon is shaped all wonky in an ergonomic way to help teach babies to feed themselves. It’s designed to help make the learning curve less difficult and prevent parents from stepping in.
It’s an interesting idea for sure – one that I think is probably better for kids slightly younger than Gideon. Also, Gideon seems to be left-handed, so I can’t even really test to see how he would do with this.
BabyPrints Ornament – Value $9.95
These kinds of ornament kits are great because you don’t have to mix or bake the clay! It comes soft and air-dries in 24-48 hours. It also includes a plastic shaping ring/cookie cutter, hole punch, and satin ribbons to hang them with.
This isn’t my son’s first Christmas, and it feels weird doing an ornament for just his second Christmas, but I know if I use that logic I’ll never have any handprints or ornaments for him ever.
The Original Sili Squeeze 2 oz Food Pouch – Value $13.99
This is a little reusable, silicone food pouch! It’s spill-proof, BPA-, PVC-, and Phthalate-free, dishwasher-safe (top rack) and freezer-safe. I like that this has a little loop to hold the cap so you don’t lose it, and also that it snaps on and off so a toddler can do it.
Verdict: This The BabyGuy Box was pretty okay. My previous boxes were better, but they were personalized surprise boxes instead of the curated boxes. I knew this box was curated for 0-2-year-olds which is a wide range to begin with, so you risk some items being too young, but I honestly felt the whole box was ranged younger. Most of these items are too young for my 15-month-old, even more so a 2-year-old. Also, this was supposed to be a “holiday” box, and the only holiday item was a DIY ornament. I was expecting maybe a hat or gloves, at least socks, and some winter or holiday themed items. At least this box gave me some good gifting items, but I feel like they didn’t do a great job curating around the theme/ages they said. I already selected the December “Winter Survival” Box, but if December’s curated box is underwhelming, I may have to just stick with personalized boxes from here on out.
The value adds up to $95.96, which is great for a $40 box, but I’m curious to see how future curated boxes are because most of this one (supposedly for 0-2 years) didn’t work for my 15-month-old. My previous, personalized boxes were awesome, however, so that may just be the way to go with this sub!
