The information card this month included additional information on some of the items and a workout. There is usually a bit of bonus information like this workout, or a recipe, or something of that nature.

strength-crate-november-2016-belt

Humanx by Harbinger 5” CoreFlex Contour Belt – Value $39.99

This is supposed to support your back during heavy lifting. I could totally use something like this, too. Unfortunately, this appears to be a men’s medium and I need a women’s small. Even at the tightest setting it was loose. So I can’t say how it worked. It does fit my husband, though, so not all is lost.

strength-crate-november-2016-drink

Kill Cliff Tasty Recovery Drink in Blood Orange (12 fl oz) – Value $3

This has a fair amount of caffeine as well as green tea extract and some B vitamins. It wasn’t the pretty red I expected from something called “blood orange” but the taste was not too bad (not at all like vitamins). And I do think it was energizing. Plus the whole can was only 15 calories!

Elivate Nutrition cAMP (60 capsules) – Value $22.99

I'm going to try not to bog you down in the biochemical details here (you can read much more about this at the link above if you are so inclined). This has forskolin, which is extracted from a plant and activates an enzyme called adenylate cyclase that in turn increases the concentration of another molecule (cAMP) that is supposed to enhance fat loss while retaining lean body mass. This is gluten free and non-GMO but it does have gelatin capsules so is not vegetarian. You do get enough for a full month’s supply so if you are not a vegetarian, you can use it for long enough to see results.

strength-crate-november-2016-granola

Bite Fuel Protein Granola Trail Mix in Pina Colada (11 oz) – Value $8.99

I’ve sampled Bite Fuel trail mixes before but usually in very small bags. This is a very generous size and pineapple and coconut are two of my favorite flavors so this is a big win. This is good in muffins, too!

strength-crate-november-2016-shirt

Hylete Accent Hooded Jacket in Black and Electric Blue (small) – Value $100

Now this fits just right! I have a Hylete t-shirt I got in another box and I love it to pieces and wear it at least once a week to work out. It is high quality and this jacket looks to be the same. My basement workout room is very cold right now and this will be nice during warm-ups or for taking Nyx out. (This is probably now the most expensive piece of outerwear I own. I think it is worth more than my nice wool winter coat…)

Verdict: I calculated a value of almost $175 for the November Strength Crate. That is an exceptional value. Although I’m a bit bummed that the lifting belt was too big, the jacket more than makes up for that, plus their FAQ encourages subscribers to contact them with any issues. I’m also glad I got to try this flavor of granola (I think it is now my favorite Bite Fuel flavor) and the recovery drink was better than expected.
