This May the theme is “Love Yourself”. Our note from the Founder, Dana Hill dares us to live authentically by embracing our imperfections. She says to be beautiful and strong and to let your unique gifts and talents be a blessing to others. We also have an insert from Naked Beaute informing subscribers of their Father’s Day Giveaway!
Score! I love face mask singles! They are so easy to use and I normally slap one on before a long bath. This one has moisturizing properties and will be great after a long day out in the dry heat.
Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture – Deluxe Samples – 1oz ea – $4.00
I used both of these this month. I repurposed the conditioner as a cowash. It’s not my favorite, but I’m happy to try another line from this brand. I wish their sample packets were bigger (and in a different container). I also used the control gel in the kiddos hair. Again, not a favorite, but I’m glad to try it out. In my opinion, the formula lacked oils. My hair felt a little dry but thankfully not stripped of the natural oils.
Luster’s PINK – Shea Butter & Coconut Oil 10-N-1 Hot Oil Treatment – Full Size – $2.99
Naked Beaute – Chamomile & Cucumber Facial Cleanser – 1.5oz – $3.00
Speaking of dry, my hair hasn’t had a hot oil treatment in a long time. This treatment is self heating and all you need is your hands to warm up the product. You leave it on for 10+ minutes before rinsing. I love that we received a full sized tube. I’m sure it’s enough for my head and the kiddos too.
I’m really enjoying this facial cleanser. I’ve been using it with my Clarisonic in the mornings and my face feels great. I alternate cleansers in the mornings, sometimes I use an exfoliant, other mornings a simple cleanser like this. I do hate the container it’s in. The cleanser is very liquidy and I have to pat little dots on my finger tips to keep from spilling so much at a time.
Harvey Prince – Cherie Blossom Perfume Spray – 8.8ml (Tall/Mini) – $28.00 $15.50
Wow! Why haven’t I received this scent before from HP!? It’s really soft and sweet. Perfect for summer. Notes include Cherry Blossom, Citrus, Vanilla and Musk. (Enabler Alert: This perfume is currently on sale, and the “COCOTIQUE” 30% off coupon code works on it.) Don’t say I didn’t tell you.
Palmer’s – Cocoa Butter Formula Eventone Suncare Sunscreen Balm – Full Size – $5.97
Perfect timing! The sun has finally decided to show up around our parts of the Earth. We had gloomy weather almost all of April and May. It smells just a good as all of Palmer’s products but doesn’t have the same texture or finish. It claims that it doesn’t leave a white cast like most SPFs and is water resistant.
Verdict: This May, COCOTIQUE had an estimated retail value of $33.00. No too bad at all. I will personally enjoy everything we received this month. I’m really surprised that there’s a HP perfume that I really really like. I’m seriously considering using the coupon code to grab a backup. And I find the hot oil treatment and sunscreen are perfect for the warm change in season.
