GlossyBox is a monthly beauty subscription box. They have the best packaging in the business, their products are usually deluxe-size or full size, and the value is usually really good too. The only issue with this box seems to be the late shipping – I would recommend just keeping that in mind and setting your expectations accordingly if you sign up for this box.

GlossyBox sent us this box early for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FYI - GlossyBox sends out multiple variations of boxes each month - so not every subscriber will receive every item in this box.

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing the items included.

glossybox-november-2015-florapy

Florapy Strength + Energy Mask - Value $8

This mask is free of parabens, synthetic fragrances and dyes, and it is vegan and safe for sensitive skin! I'm wearing it as I write this review, and I'm finding it to be refreshing. It has a slight rose scent, but nothing too strong. (You leave this mask on for 15-20 minutes, then let the remaining formula on your skin sink in).

glossybox-november-2015-hand-cream

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme - .17 oz Value $8.50

This creme almost instantly absorbs and made my skin feel so soft. It's scented (I prefer unscented skincare), but the scent isn't too strong and fades.

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Ultra-Moisturizing Hand Therapy - 25 g Value $9

This hand cream has an fresh, ocean scent, and isn't as heavy as I was expecting for a hand cream - I like it!

glossybox-november-2015-marsk

Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in You're Toast - FULL SIZE! Value $22.50

I really like the Marsk makeup brand. All their products are free of parabens, synthetic fragrance, etc. and they work well too! This shade is a light copper shimmer. (Swatched below).

Beauty For Real D-Fine Perfect Lip Pencil - FULL SIZE! Value $14

When I first opened this box I thought "another black eyeliner...." but it's a lip liner! Yay! This "universal shade" works well for my skintone too. I think it is my favorite discovery in the box. (Swatched below):

glossybox-november-2015-swatch

Verdict: This box has a value of about $62. I think that's a good value for a $21 box! I wasn't super excited by all the items at the first glance, but after going through the samples, I realize I'll use every single item in this box, so I'm happy!

It was through my introduction and subsequent newsletters from my subscription addiction that I decided to take the plunge and sign up for this subscription box. So happy I found the deal through Gilt City–what a steal! I usually only buy limited edition boxes as I know exactly what I’m getting (usually), can calculate the value and know whether I’d use the products or not. I had purchased the Net-A-Porter and Allure Thrills Beauty Boxes in the past and loved them. I recently signed up for the Walmart Beauty box and what an enormous disappointment–the calculated value was UNDER what I pay for and considering I’m not going to use 75% of the items, was definitely let down. Will give them one more season.

As for this Glossybox, I got everything Liz did and absolutely loved it. I received my voucher from Gilt City about 2-3 days after purchase (which I wasn’t expecting, thought it was more like a Groupon-esque instant deal, but anywho), submitted it to the Glossybox website on Nov 9 and received my November Glossybox on Nov 14–how amazingly fast is that! Can’t wait for my future boxes. Yaye to my first awesome subscription box! Thanks MSA!!!

I got the $8.75/month deal for 1 year too from GC. Thanks for posting the details on that Liz. I am new to the subscription boxes too and I am really enjoying everything. I really like the Glossybox November box too. Mine was same as everyone else’s also just FYI. I will use everything in the box. So far I have received lots of black eyeliner, which I don’t wear, black mascara, don’t generally wear that either but have tried a few times because I’ve received so many, and lots of dry shampoo, which I have yet to try. I fully intend on trying it out though. So this box from Glossybox had everything I didn’t have and everything I am happy to try. When I’ve received too many items to give away then I believe it will be time to find something else I enjoy.

I received my first box today and found everything useful. Glad I bought the 1 year gilt deal. The products are great for the price.

I just got my first box from the Gilt offer and I got this exact same box. I definitely cannot complain for the price. And the box is soooo cute! My daughter loved it.

I just got my first GB from my yearly deal I bought from Gilt City. I think it’s the fastest I’ve ever received a Glossybox, usually the shipping is so late I get it the following month. It was also the lightest box ever I think. I LOVE the lotion that’s why I wanted November’s box and for $8.75 it’s a steal. So glad I canceled Ipsy for this.

Heather

Liz, Im sorry to point out, but you did not get the value correct for this box. The hand lotion is 25g, the full size is 100g and retails for $22. That would put the value at $5.50. Also the Marsk eyeshadow is not full size. It is about 1/10 the size of the full size, only 0.04 oz.

Liz Cadman

Hi Heather,

Here is how I got my number. Hope this makes sense:

The Marsk eye shadow is 1.2 g or .04 oz on the packaging, and the 1.2 grams matches up with the full-size version listed on their site: http://www.marskcosmetics.com/product/youre-toast-mineral-eyeshadow/

The 25 g Lotion sells for $9 here: http://www.crabtree-evelyn.com/collections/la-source/ultra-moisturising-hand-therapy/Las-Hand-Therapy.html

Dea

This is my first Glossybox. I paid $8.75 and got three full size items and two deluxe samples. $62 of stuff I’ll use up for just $8.75, plus a cute box. Who could ever complain!!!!!!!!!!!!

The limited edition Glossybox spoilers are on Glossybox’s Instagram! There are two released so far and they will release one a day until Sunday!

I got the same box as Liz and it showed up yesterday. I also really liked my October box. Not really that thrilled about my September box….

Jen

Just got the box today and love it. The eyeshadow color is so pretty and very pigmented, lipliner matched my lips almost exactly. I like the hand cream but I am not crazy about the scent and I’m excited to try the other 2 items.

I just got my box! I bought the 8.95 yearly subscription from guilt citY and i got the same exact box as Liz! I love everything inside it. the marsk eyeshadow is gorgeous. im so happy with my glossybox.

Betty

I received the same box as Liz & I love it ? Just waiting for the holiday box to be available ?

I just received my first Glossybox about a week ago, the October one. I love it. The beautiful box, the way it is packaged and the items inside are all amazing for $21. I loved that it wasn’t too much makeup, but hair and skin care which is my main interest. I am very excited I was able to sign up for the Gilt City deal. Thanks Liz for letting us know about that. I’m looking forward to the coming year of Glossybox at a fabulous price.

Actually there should be a correction. The mineral eye shadow is not a full size, it is about a tenth of the full size and drops the value of this month drastically…another 20, so this month is a real bummer. If I had not already paid for the entire year I would cancel it. For that Gilt City deal, it is worth it, but this sub box has really disappointed me.

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

It is clearly a misprint if you look on the website also I have never seen a .47 oz eyeshadow.

Reply ButtonReply

nelliebelle1197

Yeah, that would be a body bronzer at that size!

MK

The eyeshadow is full sized per the Marsk website. The GB card is a misprint.

Shannon

I cancelled my box last month(too many subscriptions and Im getting bored- of course then I bought that gilt voucher for a year LOL) but im still getting Novembers and I’m actually looking forward to it I love neutral eye shadows and in one year I have yet to get a lip-liner in 4 sub boxes Im hoping to get the same box as yours I will use everything in it!

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

I signed up with the gilt promo too and I also like this box, I will use all of it. I have only seen a variation in the sheet mask (just the scent) so far this month. So I think everyone will have the same as Liz 🙂

Cindy

I just signed up for Glossy Box and Boxy Charm at the end of October. I have been impressed with Glossy Box shipping! I recieved the GB October right away and have recieved a shipping notice for the November GB box.
So far I have been billed for two months of Boxy Charm (Oct. and Nov.) and recieved nothing. Its been 10 business days and even tho I emailed customer service to verify that I would recieve an October box and they confirmed I would, no shipping notice yet. Crickets.

I actually got the exact same box as Liz.. just got it today.. I love Glossybox and I’ve been receiving it for over a year with no complaints.. they even sent me a Mega thank you box worth over 120 bucks just for sticking up for them on Facebook last year. Filled with amazing products!

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

Wow, I got the same box as Liz except for a variation of the mask. I got lavender vs. her rose which is perfect since I am allergic to roses. I actually like my box this month and don’t feel box envy. And my box is already here rather than coming the last week of the month or later.

I didn’t sign up for that good deal since I’ve been unhappy with GB lately but maybe I should reconsider….

Reply ButtonReply

Denise

I’ll be getting my first box on Monday and I’m excited because I love face masks, can’t stand not having hand lotion along anywhere I wash my hands (this is a great purse size) and use another of the Estée Lauder moisturizers regularly so will be happy to try this one out. Don’t need the lip pencil but can easily give that away.

Reply ButtonReply

Kay

I am new to GB and just purchased GiltCity deal. I saw the November spoiler as eye shadow and lip pencil. I decided to wait for December or January to activate the voucher. I like everything else Liz got in her box. I understand that there are variation to this box, but I thought the spoiler items were sent to everyone, but it seems some people are receiving totally different items. I wonder if they send different box for voucher customers. Anyway, I am looking forward to start my sub and also looking forward to gift items 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

After hemming and hawing about it for several days, I broke down and bought the GB year through GiltCity. I am torn as to whether to wait until December or not.

Reply ButtonReply

Kay

Rebecca, for me, I am more into skincare than makeup, so the two higher priced spoiler items that were makeup pushed me to wait. I am pretty simple/conservative when it comes to makeup, so. I hope the voucher sales gave them good purchasing power up front. I really hope that they send voucher customers with the same products.

Anna Marie

Well, I for one love Glossybox but then I am new to beauty subscription boxes (this is how new, I still haven’t gotten any dry shampoo, this month’s Birchbox will have my first). It also helps that I have just started using skincare and make up products and so I need everything! Still, the hate that Glossy gets seems a bit excessive. I started getting Glossy in August and the only thing Liz got that I wish I had was the perfume in October, but other than that, my boxes are the same as hers so far.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

I have gotten just over a dozen different boxes from 4 different subscriptons in the last few months and so far no dry shampoo. And I actually want some! Ha ha.

Reply ButtonReply

Sandra Flaishmakher

Haha you can have mine! I just started my first sub in July (Birchbox) the got ipsy from Agust, and just sub’s to GB today. SO… in 7 total boxes, I already got 4 (!!!) dry shampoos! I hope I never get one again…. Same goes for nail polish (3 already… ALL in different shades of purple) 🙂

Meghan

Just my 2 cents, but my observation over the past couple of months is that we are on a “Trash GB bandwagon.” I know they hit a period of time where the impressiveness of their boxes was less than in the past. I’m hoping their attention to message boards and better customer service (which I’ve had several instances of lately) is indicative that they’re aware they need to get back on track.
But bottom line for me anyway, even just looking at this Nov box, is that the products are different than my usual arsenal or anything I would likely take the time and energy to find on my own. And isn’t that the point of these subs? No sub can cater to every sub addict that’s been doing this for years. I like GB a lot for myself. And when they send something that’s not quite right for me, I feel perfectly good about gifting it because the items are quality enough.

Didn’t mean to rant, just thought some folks might like to know there are people that are enjoying this sub 🙂

Mary K

Well said, Meghan! I think people’s expectations are too high sometimes. This is supposed to be FUN! 😀

QuickBrownFox

I got all of these products in my November box, but the value of my box I calculate at about $38. Marsk shadow was .04 oz, not the .47 oz full size. C&E lotion is 25g, making its value $5.50 (card indicates full 100g size is $22). Does glossybox send reviewers larger size samples? Very misleading to have a reviewer so overstate the value of the box other subscribers are getting.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

I just wrote a comment about my shadow being the smaller size as well. Not sure if it is a card misprint or an actual smaller size?

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

Did they put .47 oz in the card ? Must have been a misprint .. That would be a huge eye shadow.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

We have the same size products. Hope this helps:

The Marsk eye shadow is 1.2 g or .04 oz on the packaging, and the 1.2 grams matches up with the full-size version listed on their site: http://www.marskcosmetics.com/product/youre-toast-mineral-eyeshadow/

The 25 g Lotion sells for $9 here: http://www.crabtree-evelyn.com/collections/la-source/ultra-moisturising-hand-therapy/Las-Hand-Therapy.html

Hope that makes sense!

Reply ButtonReply

Kathy

To get the price $8.75 do you need to pay all at once? Or pay monthly?

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

You pay it all at once upfront.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

I know this doesn’t look like an exciting box, but it is useful for me. I am almost out of my lip liner in this color so I am glad I don’t have to buy another. The eye shadow looks like it could go with the NYX palette I got from Ipsy a few months ago since the lightest shade in the palette was not very pigmented. I love hand cream. I have several at my desk and in my purse since AZ is so dry. And I’ve started using anti-aging creams this year to hopefully help prevent those wrinkles from coming in.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

I actually really like this box, the only thing I won’t use is the lip liner. The eyeshadow is a pretty color and is all natural, hand cream is a nice size for purse, and I love face masks.
