Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Box

Daily Look Elite Box is a styling subscription service very similar to Stitch Fix and Wantable Style Edit:

  • Your stylist sends you items based on your preferences and generally range from $75-$350. Only pay for what you keep.
  • Your $20 monthly styling fee applies towards items that you keep. So the service is free if you make a purchase.
  • You can skip a month anytime.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Items

The Subscription Box: Daily Look Elite Box

The Cost: $20 styling fee or the cost of whatever you keep (if you keep anything the $20 fee is deducted)

The Products: Clothing, shoes and accessories based on your sizes and styling preferences.

Ships to: US

When you create an account, you fill out a style profile to let your stylist know your sizes, what type of fit you like, and what looks you are going for. Here is a one of the pieces of the style profile I filled out:

Style Profile

So with this box I was going for more of an edgy look than a pastel classic look. Now onto the items!

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Shoes Side

Chinese Laundry Time Flies Sandals - Cost to Keep $74.95

These definitely fit the edgy vibe I was going for, but I'm really particular when it comes to sandals and need a wider strip covering the widest part of my foot. These went back!

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Shoes

I found these sandals for sale online too, so even if they fit perfectly, I wouldn't have kept them at the full price cost.

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Shorts

The Laundry Room Croc Cut Off Shorts - Cost to Keep $49.95

I don't know where to start with these shorts! They are seriously high cut croc print white shorts - and while I appreciate my stylist sticking to the edgy look I requested, I have neither the legs, nor the occasions to attend needed to wear these!

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Cardigan

DAILYLOOK Ribbed Knit Cardigan - Cost to Keep $59.99

This cardigan is made with a nice lightweight fabric perfect for summer, and I think it looks so chic on the model from Daily Look:

The color was a little draining on me though, so it isn't a keeper.

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Romper

DAILYLOOK Chiffon Romper - Cost to Keep $19.95

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Romper Back

Another item that is WAY too short for me - I like the price though!

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Sweater BB Dakota

BB Dakota Stills Sweater - Cost to Keep $89.99

This sweater has an open back slit design:

I liked it, but didn't love it enough to justify the $90 price tag, plus I'm not looking for fall colors/pieces right now.

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Wrap

DAILYLOOK Sidney Crisscross Blouse - Cost to Keep $49.99

I love everything about this top - it's a great basic I'll wear all the time. Plus, it is lightweight and perfect for layering. Finally - a keeper!

Daily Look Elite Stylist Subscription Review - June 2015 Tee Dress

BLQ Basic Sweatshirt Dress - Cost to Keep $79.99

I like the concept of this dress, but the material is such a thick jersey, that it adds a lot of shape. (Which I didn't need in an already boxy silhouette!)

Verdict: I think my stylist did a good job at sending me the edgy look I requested - but turns out their version of edgy is a little too revealing for me! Since this is the very first box for me, I'm not going to hold that against them - I gave feedback on my returns, and hope that the next box still has an edgy look, but shows a little less skin!

What do you think of the Daily Look Elite Box?

I ordered July 05 and there’s like nothing on my page, it says “pending” 🙁 That romper really made me want the box but looks like I might have to try to cancel if it stays the same by next week

I actually really enjoyed this box, and my stylist always did well!. I cancelled because my husband and I might be relocating soon and were wanting to cut down on extras. I hope I will get to sign back up again though.

Oops! Posted too quickly. I just wanted to add a little warning that I had a lot of difficulty canceling this sub – multiple emails went unanswered (and there is no email address per se, just one of those forms to fill in). After several tried I called and was told they would extend me the courtesy of canceling, but they usually wait until the clothes are returned. I had put my box in the mail what seemed like at least 2 weeks prior, but am guessing they use the slowest return shipping possible. Haven’t had any other problems about it. Also – this box is not called the sh*t show for nothing – out of three boxes two were so laughably bad/low quality that I sent it all back immediately. Plastic purses that stank to high heaven and also lots of out of season merchandise were sent (hello, heavy sweaters and black jeans in June to the south?). I kept one lightweight top from my first box in April thinking I could use it in the fall. The house brand was disappointing. It’s fun to try free but be aware to start the cancellation process early!

After I saw this post I was curious to try this out, I love styling services! I just signed up and I’m getting my first box this month! I don’t think there’s a waitlist or maybe I just got lucky? Either way I’m excited to see what they send!

The romper is super cute!

I want to try this so bad! I singed up a few weeks ago but ended up canceling before I ever tried it. It upset me that I was first told I was getting my first box a week later, then after checkout I was sent an email saying they were experiencing high volumes and it would be a few months before I actually got it. I did buy sons things from their site! They have crazy good sales, I got six dresses for only $75! Most of them are BB Dakota, I just got them today and they are gorgeous! The only problem I had with that was very long shipping times, it took over two weeks to get them! I might end up resigning up though!

I signed up probably in March or early April, and was also SO excited to see that I’d get a box pretty quickly! And then I got another email saying I was on the waitlist…. Still am on the waitlist as far as I know…..

I miss the days when I used to wear shorts like that and not think twice.

I was sort of a deluded young lady. I would dress in short shorts and walk around thinking my thigh dimples came off like smile ones. LOL Now I fret…

How much would I have to pay you to wear those to run errands in on a Saturday?

PA Anna

Depends. Are you accompanying me wearing the velvet dress?

I like the shoes too.

Jocelyn

I like those sandals! Chinese laundry shoes hold up amazingly well. I have a pair of basic strappy sandals (they actually still make because they’re such a timelessly classic style!) I’ve owned since 2004. They’re my go to for any fancy dress and they still look new. I love them so much.

I just went over to their site to see when it was I tried to sign up. It was February 7th . . . and my order is still showing pending lol. I had emailed them many, many times to no avail. Oh well.

I do like those sandals so I’ll have to do some Googling to see where you found them on sale. Thanks Liz!

That’s weird you all have had issues, when the posted the “two months free” offer on this site I signed up. Got my first box within the month, and have my second slated to come in two weeks. Delivery has been quick! I was amazed at how amazingly they curated my box! I am usually really picky about clothes, and they did send me two floral items when I asked for no floral, but they were actually nice pieces I liked.

I have been waiting since Febuary as well. I wonder if they use a screening process since Liz was able to get in so quickly.

Jenn

They eventually cancelled mine because I had waited so long and they were experiencing “high numbers” and blah blah blah.
I thought it was pretty rude. I had been send up since the end of January.

I meant signed not send lol. Oops
