Arianna Huffington Quarterly Box Review – #ARI03 Box

This is the second Arianna Huffington Quarterly box. Her box is focused on health, wellness and mindfulness. (I think it is a really unique theme for a subscription box!)

A little more about Arianna from Quarterly:

Arianna Huffington is the editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group and author of fourteen books. She sends items that help her take her mother’s advice: “Don’t Miss the Moment.”

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Arianna Huffington Quarterly Box Review – #ARI03 Letter

Each Quarterly box comes with a letter from the curator detailing the items included. (You can read the full letter in the ARI03 Spoiler Post).

Arianna Huffington Quarterly Box Review – #ARI03 UP

Jawbone Up Move - Value $50

I received this in the Kevin Rose Quarterly box as well. I like it and I think I may give this one to my mom so we can share our data through their app. I used to have an original Jawbone Up and FitBit wristband, and my biggest issue with both fitness trackers was remembering to charge them, so I like that this one comes with a 6-month replaceable battery instead.

Arianna Huffington Quarterly Box Review – #ARI03 Yoga

Yoga Warrior 365 DVD Set - Value $100

This is the item I am most excited about in the box. It gets excellent reviews on Amazon, and it is a complete 14-disc set. This also fits in so well with Arianna's praise of the benefits of yoga and meditation.

Arianna Huffington Quarterly Box Review – #ARI03 Pillow Case

Sleep Your Way to the Top Pillow Case - Value $29

(100% Polyester)

This pillow case was made exclusively for the box by DENY Designs, so I used their pricing for a similar pillow case to get the value.

I love this fun play on words as a reminder of the importance of sleep in your career and life in general. The material has a soft silky feel, but it has a slight chemical smell, so I'll be washing it before using it.

Arianna Huffington Quarterly Box Review – #ARI03 Bracelet

Look Up Stop Texting Bracelet - Value ?

This is another exclusive piece designed to remind you to pay attention to the world around you instead of looking at your phone. I like the idea behind the bracelet a lot, and I appreciate the simplicity of the design. My only issue with the bracelet it that the square shape makes it a little uncomfortable for me to wear.

Verdict: I really like this box! The value is likely over $200 (assuming the bracelet is worth at least $20), and I think that is great for a $100 box. The products also match perfectly with her Quarterly subscription theme, and her book Thrive.

What do you think of #ARI03?

I just wanted to share that I removed the lobster claw clasp from the bracelet and it became a lot more comfortable and very easy to put on/take off – give it a try! I love the message behind it!

Off topic but quarterly question, any idea when the quarterly Animal box disappeared? That was on my list of cooking subs to try and i was going to sign up but… don’t see it anymore

I have yet to receive my box, but I am super-excited about it.

Are the Yoga DVDs region free? I am a bit concerned that they won’t work on European devices.

Does anyone know if you can still order the box? Sorry..my first quarterly was MSA02, so I’m not super familiar with it. Mahalo!

Meme – Email them to see if there are still boxes available. It wasn’t sold out when it shipped and sometimes people cancel at the last minute or credit cards fail.

Mucho Mahalo, Anna!! I’m emailing them now and crossing my fingers!

The Jawbone and the Yoga DVDs are a hit for me – the bracelet is a miss (uncomfortable and hard to get on/off – why can’t it just be a normal shape bracelet or a bangle?), the pillowcase is meh. But since I like the high value items, it works well for me. I’m on Day 2 with the Jawbone and I really like it so far – motivating me to be better about getting up and walking during the work day!

I should add that my Jawbone is black, which I’m very pleased with – didn’t realize they came in a variety of colors. And I like the clip, as I’ve found that the bracelets from other trackers are uncomfortable and look clunky.

I got mine today & I love it. The pillowcase really made me laugh. It is very soft & feels like silk even though it is polyester. I usually prefer cotton pillowcases, can’t wait to see if this makes any difference. I got a yellow jawbone too. I think the bracelet is cute, I have a tiny wrist but it fits perfect. I really got this for the DVDs, very happy with so many DVDs.

I loved this entire box! The bracelet is really flexible so I was able to bend it into a more oval shape that was more comfortable and fit my wrist a little better.

Liz, first sencente mentions this is the 2nd box instead of the third… Well maybe this is really the 2nd box. The actually second box was somehow off the theme.

I have a FitBit One. I was struggling with timing the charging until I just decided to charge it once a week, regardless of how much battery I had used. I deep condition my hair on Friday nights so before I do that, I plug the FitBit in. By the time I’m done (minimum 30 minutes of hair treatment plus a normal shower), it’s all ready to go. Should work for any activity tracker that needs to be recharged.

Maybe the bracelet is uncomfortable so you will look up and not text? Like the thumb thingys that were popular earlier this year?

Also, who wants to sleep on polyester? Eww!

Actually, a lot of people use satin pillowcases now (often made of polyester). They are great for your hair and skin (aids in preventing wrinkles).

My box finally arrived today! I can’t wait to start using the items in the next few days. The Jawbone will be my first activity tracker. I’m not crazy about it, but will try it for a month and see what happens. I received a yellow one too which matches the yellow sleep band that I bought off of Amazon a few days ago.

I’m very excited about the yoga DVDs. Is your pillowcase off white/cream?

I found the bracelet design to be a little uncomfortable. Maybe the wrist is too big? I can wear the LLB bracelet from the Jan box with no problems.

I think this fits in great with her theme. I can’t wait to see what will arrive in the next box.
