Birchbox Fresh Start Limited Edition Box Review & Coupon Bombas

KOR Water Aura Water Bottle – Value $10 (colors will vary with this item)

Bombas Ankle Socks – Value $9

I love the design of this water bottle. It’s BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and it has a hygienic drinking spout (completely hidden by the cap).

My husband first got these Bombas socks in the Men’s Limited Edition Sweat the Small Stuff Birchbox, and now we’re both obsessed with them. They are so comfortable, and don’t slip down at all.

Birchbox Fresh Start Limited Edition Box Review & Coupon Juice

Juice Beauty Green Apple Age Defy Hand Cream – FULL SIZE! Value $12

Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave-In Conditioner – 2 oz Value $10

I love the subtle green apple scent of this hand cream. It’s a lightweight cream and absorbs very quickly.

I’ve tried this Yarok Leave-In Conditioner before in another subscription box, and I love the scent and the all-natural ingredients. My only issue with it is that it seemed to weigh-down my hair a bit, so I have to make sure to only use very little in each application.

Birchbox Fresh Start Limited Edition Box Review & Coupon Lip

ILIA Lip Gloss in The Butterfly & I – FULL SIZE! Value $24

VAPOUR Organic Beauty Aura Multi Use Blush in Courtesan – 3.97 g Value $21

This lipgloss gives a sheer wash of color, and a ton of shine/moisture. (It’s also not sticky at all!)

Vapour is one of my favorite natural beauty brands, and I really like this blush stick. It is highly-pigmented, so you only need a quick swipe and then blend it in for a good amount of color.

Birchbox Fresh Start Limited Edition Box Review & Coupon Healing

Mullein & Sparrow Bath Salts – 2 oz? Value $4.50

Fig + Yarrow Healing Salve – .5 oz Value $5.90

Both of these items are made with natural and organic ingredients and smell wonderful! The bath salts have a few essential oils in their ingredients, but for me the main scent is rose.

And the Healing Salve is from one of my favorite brands (I’m so excited to see Fig + Yarrow’s line in the Birchbox shop!)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $96. I paid $33.60 with the TAKEOFF20 coupon, and I’m thrilled with the value. I love every single products – I feel like this box was made for me. I’ll probably end up buying a second one since I know I’ll use everything

  1. Did anyone else think that the ILIA lip gloss smelled like it had gone bad? I’m not incredibly familiar with this brand so I wondered if that’s just the way it smells.

    • From what a lot of people are saying it has a herby/medicinal smell to it. For me personally I don’t find it very pleasant, but no I don’t think its gone bad.

  2. I got my box and L-O-V-E everything in it except the scent of the bath salt. Echoing that this box felt it was made for me, so much so that I ordered a second box and I’ve never done that before!

  3. I received my box today, love it. I t matches this one exactly. I did not have any issues with postage.

  4. I had to pay $5.75 in extra postage to get my actual box. I emailed Birchbox and just got a reply from them and they’re refunding my credit card the $5.75 in extra postage and giving me an extra 100 points. So to anyone else who had to pay postage, you should email them if you haven’t already! Plus every experience I’ve ever had with BB customer service is always awesome, they’re always really nice!

    • So good to hear – and I agree, Birchbox customer service is great! 🙂

  5. Yeah for me…I had more than enough points to get this one for free. I try to stock pile my points over months to use them when I really see something different that I really want. I’m really looking forward to it, looks like a great box.

  6. Just finished reviewing this month’s samples and was able to get enough points to take $20 off, plus with the 20% off code I got it for $13.xx! I was also able to add the Mystery Pack and the pink Birchbox keychain (1yr anniversary gift) for free.

  7. This looks even better seeing it broken down this way. I don’t know if I want to use my points on this or keep them growing. Points and the discount would be the only way I could get it this month due to my remaining budget for this month. Decisions…decisions.

  8. wow this is actually a really nice Birchbox!! So many awesome things 🙂 i was under the impression that they were horrible :/ nice post!

  9. Just picked up my box! Couldn’t resist considering most of the products are ingredient conscious picks. Also love that the water bottle is BPA free! I used the coupon codes as well as $10 worth of points, so it came out to around $27 with tax. I wasn’t crazy about the $42 price tag, but at $27 with a value of $96 and complete usability for me, it is totally worth it!

  10. I hope this box is still around in a month or so. Just can’t swing it right now, but one more month’s worth of points and I think I’m in business.

  11. Liz could you please review BeautyJoyBox? I have heard it is a great one! $15 for one jewelry item one full size beauty item and 2 deluxe samples.

  12. Ok I finally gave in and headed over to BB to buy this box 🙂 I had 200 points, applied those, put in the takeoff20 code, applied that, and when I checked my order somehow the welcome back20 code was also applied. That brought my order total to $18 and change, and when I applied my mystery sample pack, suddenly my order total was $13.60?! I was like WHAAAAT! I’ve only been with Birchbox for 3 months so I’m not really sure what happened, but hey I’ll take it! Looks like a great box, can’t wait for it to arrive!

  13. I’m like you Liz, I feel like the box was made for me. I wanted the cute socks, there adorable. I also really wanted the Juice Beauty as I love hand creams and the rest of the items, I knew that I would use everything. The value listed on birchbox says about $108 value. I’m really hooked on these limited edition sets. Last night I finally decided to add the cew limited edition box that I’m behind on getting but it was sold out so I clicked to be notified when it became available. The only other le sets that I’ve purchased were the mass appeal and the free for all and I wish the free for all was still available. I love the jurlique and shamanuti charcoal facial cleanser. I really really want the vanity affair box soooo bad but it’s out of my price range at the moment. I’m really hoping that when I can actually afford it that it’s still available. Thanks for the review? I’ve been waiting your review and can’t wait until mine gets here.

Birchbox is easily becoming one of my favorite subscriptions. The past few months ipsy hasn’t really been cutting it for me. Check them out on Facebook! 🙂

  14. Alright, you’ve convinced me. I’ve had this box in my cart for like a week and I finally decided to go for it after seeing your review. I ended up getting it for about $23 after the discount code and $10 in points. I’m excited!

    • Nice discount! I think you’ll love it! 🙂

    • I’ve already used all the 20% codes and I found a 15% code that worked but decided to get it that night and I got lucky I find u a $10 off $50 online and took it and also added tocca hand cream which got me the tocca free and added the mystery pack to cart for free ($10 it deducts it at checkout). I used points so paid $5 and change. I need to start saving all my points for just these limited edition sets that come out. I bet by the time I have enough the vanity affair will be sold out. 🙁 Hope to get it. I found one giveaway on Facebook but didn’t win.

Hey liz it would be so cool if you did a giveaway for this box. I wouldn’t enter though because I was able to get mine but for those that can’t. It would give a great opportunIty to try natural brands. I am really hoping to join vegan cuts/petit vour or goodebox now. I just can’t decide which one. 😉

Thanks for all your work. I’m super excited! Plus I signed up to the wait list a long while back for MSA quarterly but haven’t heard back yet.

    • Saaaame! It’s been sitting in my cart, tempting me…. but I reviewed my box today (so I have $10 in points now) and with these promo codes… I’m buying it now! Yay! 🙂

  15. I really liked the box, but mad I had to pay $5.75 in extra postage to get my box. I’ve emailed Birchbox and so far haven’t heard from them. I think they had a glitch with their mailing system or something, it says the box weighed 6 oz, which it definitely doesn’t. I’m hoping to get a refund or something. I really like the lipgloss, socks and blush and for some reason I got 2 Juice Beauty lotions, not sure why, but love them too.

    • They must have had a string of postage problems. But they refunded me no problem. My only annoyance was having to wait to get my package (mine was just a regular BB purchase). The postage due notice came in the mailbox on a Friday and our post office isn’t open on Saturdays. I also can’t get to the post office given my work hours. So my hubby had to pick it up on the next Monday.

      • Where do you live that you had to pay extra postage?

        • I live in Missouri, it looks like it was a glitch with their scales or something, the box doesn’t weigh 6 oz.

          • I’ve had the same thing happen twice with BB. It’s super annoying having to schlep to the post office here in Las Vegas to not only pick up the package but to also have to pay more to get it. It’s the busiest USPS location I’ve ever seen in the country. The average wait time for pick ups is 30 minutes! A total of $11.90 out of pocket for additional shipping is ridiculous. And I never got a refund. I think some POs check weights more carefully and that’s why this didn’t happen to more people. It happened with a monthly sub box and again with a LE box I bought before Christmas.

  16. I love everything in mine too! Everything. My teenager got the bombas socks in his Xmas”sweat the small stuff” box and is also obsessed. He stole mine from this box, even thought they’re pink….
