From The Lab Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Box

From the Lab is a unique beauty subscription box – each month they send you a new beauty product that isn’t on the market yet. The idea is that beauty companies heavily markup their products, so by getting the beauty product after it’s created and tested in the lab, they can send you the products for much less than you would pay once they are branded in the upcoming months/years.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

From The Lab Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Info

The main product this month is the Nourishing Hydration Balm, and the bonus product is this eye lift primer.

Nourishing Hydration Balm No. 624 - Estimated Retail Value $75

(FYI - these retail estimates are from From the Lab since this exact item isn't available for purchase, so keep that in mind with value estimates).

This balm is pretty interesting in that it is supposed to basically do everything - it's a cleanser, an overnight mask, and a body balm. (They even recommend using it as a hair mask!)

I tried it out as a body balm, and I think that's how I'll be using it entirely. It has a bit of a gel-like texture, but absorbs pretty quickly into the skin. It did leave my skin with a good amount of sheen hough. (This could be a good thing for using on my legs in the summer!)

Most From the Lab products are scented, and some of those scents don't agree with me, but fortunately this one is very subtle. I'm a fan!

From The Lab Subscription Box Review - September 2014 Eyelift

EyeLift Primer - Value 30? (the estimated value wasn't included in the box)

This is basically a highlighter that can also work as an eyeshadow primer. The formula has a subtle sparkle to it, so you can definitely wear it alone, or layer eyeshadow over it.

Verdict: I think this may be my favorite From The Lab box to date - both products are items I know I'll use completely. What did you think of the From the Lab products this month?

From the Lab is my favorite beauty subscription box! I have been a member for one year now. I love their products, the value is super (as everything is full-size) and their customer service team is beyond great!

I love the eye primer but really hate the balm…

I subscribed to FTL when they started for a few months, but cancelled because I had allergic reactions to some of their skin products. I really like the Lip Primer I swapped for, though, and I really hope someone wants to swap that eye primer!
