Year in Review: StitchFix

StitchFix in 2021

A look back at this past year and our hopes for 2022.

As 2021 comes to a close, we want to share our StitchFix year in review, because we reviewed a lot of Fixes and loved what we got. Not only did we get to try the Stitch Fix women's, but we also tried out the Stitch Fix kids, too! 2021 brought StitchFix Freestyle, which gives shoppers the chance to buy curated items directly from the StitchFix site. Some of these brands include Free People, Universal Standard, Vince, Madewell, Mother, Rag & Bone, The North Face, Club Monaco, Girlfriend Collective, and more. We also saw StitchFix's Elevate Collection, a collection that showcased five designers of color on the brand's site and on their Freestyle page. Let's look back at some of our other highlights from 2021 and get excited for all that's to come in '22.

What StitchFix Got Right in 2021

Patterns

Over the past year, we have loved the patterns that were sent in every Fix. From bold punches of color to striking patterns like polka dots, florals, houndstooth, and plaids - there has been something for everyone. The best part? All of these pieces were highly wearable and make a trendy statement that isn't intimidating to try. There were also great neutral basics that everyone should have in their wardrobe, like well-fitting denim and the perfect little black dress.

Variety

We have loved the variety in pieces we've seen over the past year, they are perfect for filling out a closet and trying gout styles you might not normally choose for yourself. We've seen dresses, jeans, skirts, t-shirts, sweaters, jumpers, blazers, coats, and more - StitchFix also sends accessories and shoes to help you complete the look.

Inclusivity

Having an inclusive size range is always important to us, and StitchFix definitely hits that mark. StitchFix currently carries women's sizes 0-24W & XS-3X, and men's sizes XS-3XL. Our reviewer, Nicole Rieder, has been writing reviews on her StitchFix Fixes that cater to her plus size figure - check out some of her reviews to get the full scoop!

Our Favorite Brands and Products from StitchFix in 2021

Joanna Slim Straight Leg Trouser in Red by Kut From The Kloth, Size 24 — Retail Value $78.00

From Nicole's October 2021 Review:

I am living my foxy Ronald/Rhonda McDonald lifestyle in these adorable red trousers that Torey selected for me. I have reviewed a few pairs of Kut From The Kloth brand jeans and I am always rather impressed with the quality. I love the color of these pants and how buttery soft and stretchy the fabric is. The size 24 fits well in the belly and waist, but the legs aren't as tapered as I would prefer. I would like these slightly more if they were higher in the waist and snugger in the calves and ankle. Otherwise, these are well made and rather stylish. Wear these pants with a striped t-shirt and faux leather biker jacket year-round with either white Chuck Taylors or pointy toe ankle booties. Either way, you will look fantastic and feel comfortable in these pants.

Darleena Surplice Jumpsuit by Skies Are Blue, Size 3x — Retail Value $78.00

From Nicole's End of Summer Review:

My dad helped me take the photos on this review and he loved this jumpsuit on me so much that he offered to get it as a birthday present for me. I appreciated the gesture-- I love my dad!  I was mighty tempted to take him up on it too but opted against it because the fabric has limited stretch. I didn't want to have to worry that I would bust a seam sitting down or feel too tightly enclosed. My stylist, Torey, truly did nail it with this piece, though. I absolutely love the bright and bold vintage-inspired floral print on this jumpsuit. I also love the sleeves and the modesty buttons at the cleavage. This is fantastic for when you are at work and want to ensure you are fully covered! Styling with a jumpsuit like this is so simple too-- I just put on my go-to orange jellies and some yellow flower power earrings to bring out the beautiful colors in this piece. Did I happen to mention-- IT HAS POCKETS!!!

Tony Drawstring Knit Jumpsuit by Gilli, Size 3x — Retail Value $54.00

From Nicole's Fall 2021 Review:

You can't go wrong with a great jumpsuit as far as I am concerned. I especially love this one because it is so versatile. I know, you guys are probably thinking, "No! Not another sleeveless item!" Hear me out-- in the colder months you might find yourself wearing a skirt, but wear a long sleeved top, right? This jumpsuit can be worn all year due to it being sleeveless. You can wear it in summer months with embellished sandals and oversized sunglasses for a late night meal or even to travel in. In the fall and winter you can wear it with ankle booties and a faux leather biker jacket like I did. I added extra attitude by wearing leopard print booties, pin covered biker jacket, and my new favorite Divine earrings from RebsRainbowHaus! However, This would be adorable with a striped turtleneck, flats, and an oversized cardigan in the winter months. This piece is made from stretchy, soft, knit cotton and is easy to wear. I love the elastic at the waist because it allows you to define your waist as much as you prefer. That is great if you are wearing it as is or with a t-shirt or long sleeved blouse underneath.

Dawn Disk Drop Earrings by Towne & Reese— Retail Value $34.00

From Nicole's August Review:

I love a big statement earring and I sense Veronica gathered that from my feedback and Pinterest I frequently update. I can see why she sent them to me, they have a vintage coin feel to them. I like them, but they are not necessarily my style, so I passed on them. Even though I am not keeping them, I can see them for the bold and versatile earrings they are! These will look fantastic with your favorite summer dress and sandals or a vintage t-shirt, jeans, and slip-on VANS just the same! They are a bit on the heavy side too, so if your ears can't take larger pieces, these might not be for you!
