Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up, you take an in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and your pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Fix may be completely different.

Stitch Fix Plus Size Clothing August 2021 Review

Let's take a look at this month's selections, shall we?

Gracie Knit Scalloped Dress by Fortune & Ivy, Size 2x — Retail Value $54.00

This dress was far and away my favorite piece in this month's selections from my stylist, Veronica. I was SO tempted to keep this one, but I decided against it since I already have a sea of dresses. I can't roller skate for my life, but I kept imagining myself skating in this dress with bike shorts underneath. Daydreams aside, in reality, this dress is adorable! I love the mustard yellow color and the delicate floral print. I usually go after bolder prints, but I couldn't deny the cuteness of this piece! The scallop detail on the arms, the key hold detail on the back, and the faux wrap style had me at HELLO! The fabric had loads of stretch to boot as well! I styled this dress simply with white Mary Janes from Torrid and yellow acrylic flower power statement earrings. This would look phenomenal in the fall with opaque tights, an oversized cardigan, and Mary Jane platforms, or a faux leather biker jacket, fishnets, and booties for optimum fierceness!

Bastille Tulip Sleeve Blouse by Paper Moon, Size 2x — Retail Value $38.00

I love the style of this top in theory and especially love the rich burgundy shade. However, the fit was not forgiving and rather atrocious on me. My ample hips and chest combined with the no-stretch fabric made for a nightmarish fit. The top kept wanting to ride up both on my chest and hips. I think if I had received a 3x, this crisis would have been avoided for sure! Aside from the fit issues, I find this top to be rather charming. It has a cute retro style I love that would pair perfectly with skinny jeans or a pencil skirt and flats at the office.

Ellie Skinny High Rise Jean by Sts Blue, Size 22w — Retail Value $55.00

I love deep blue skinny leg style jeans and these are no exception. These jeans have a great deal of stretch which I absolutely love. I would have sized up to a 24W in these because these were very snug on me and I think the waist would have been even higher on me in the proper size. Even with the slight fit issues I had, I would suggest getting these jeans for sure! They will be a staple piece in your wardrobe offering a ton of versatile looks throughout the year!

Fayette Mixed Material Blouse by Paper Moon, Size 2x  — Retail Value $38.00

This top has it all! I love the bold colors and floral print, but I love the mixed material as well. You have the flowy material on the front with the gorgeous print and the back is a solid navy stretch cotton material. I love this because it gives the top a fit that is still roomy, but perfectly hugs your curves. I did some simple styling by pairing this cutie top with jeans and my favorite white Mary Janes. Imagine wearing this with a red or mustard yellow pencil skirt to tie into the colors on the blouse-- chef's kiss, I tell ya! This can easily translate to cooler weather too if you pair it with a cardigan and tights too!

Dawn Disk Drop Earrings by Towne & Reese— Retail Value $34.00

I love a big statement earring and I sense Veronica gathered that from my feedback and Pinterest I frequently update. I can see why she sent them to me, they have a vintage coin feel to them. I like them, but they are not necessarily my style, so I passed on them. Even though I am not keeping them, I can see them for the bold and versatile earrings they are! These will look fantastic with your favorite summer dress and sandals or a vintage t-shirt, jeans, and slip-on VANS just the same! They are a bit on the heavy side too, so if your ears can't take larger pieces, these might not be for you!

The Verdict: This month's Stitch Fix had some phenomenal pieces-- it  felt like my new stylist had me in mind, for sure! My favorite piece of the lot was the adorable Fortune + Ivy dress. I am kicking myself a bit on that one. The styles were pretty on point, there were just some fit issues and that isn't necessarily Veronica's fault. I just updated my sizing to ensure I get more pieces that will fit me better. I am actually looking forward to providing feedback to Veronica since she nailed this month so well! I always strongly suggest providing a Pinterest and Instagram link as well to give your stylist a better idea of what your preferences are and even your body type to get a better feel for the fit you need! Also, it is helpful to do the Daily Style Quiz they offer on their site. It allows you to thumbs up or down pieces to further communicate with your stylist your likes and dislikes. Even if you just do it after you provide written feedback, it still is a big help! You can also "bookmark" items in their shop and send the links to items on your feedback as well. If you prefer to not get a monthly Style Fix-- no worries! Stitch Fix now allows you to shop on their site for clothing items, accessories, foundation garments, and also shoes without getting a monthly Stitch Fix sent to you! Another thing to keep in mind-- Stitch Fix has offered the option for you to purchase pieces outside of your style box, but also to select items you like for the box as well. I am going to give that a go for one of my future boxes. For someone like me that actually loves to shop-- that is a great feature! Are you as excited as me to see what Veronica sends me next month?

Can you still get these pieces if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This personal styling service has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $219. The cost of each item is listed alongside it, above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $144.25 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s about a 31% discount!
