Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up, you take an in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and your pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Fix may be completely different.

FYI, COVID-19 Updates: To learn more about Stitch Fix’s extended return window, any potential fulfillment delays, and more, read all of their service-related updates here.

First Impressions

Let's take a look at this month's selections, shall we?

What's Inside This Month's Fix

Tony Drawstring Knit Jumpsuit by Gilli, Size 3x — Retail Value $54.00

You can't go wrong with a great jumpsuit as far as I am concerned. I especially love this one because it is so versatile. I know, you guys are probably thinking, "No! Not another sleeveless item!" Hear me out-- in the colder months, you might find yourself wearing a skirt, but wear a long-sleeved top, right? This jumpsuit can be worn all year due to it being sleeveless. You can wear it in the summer months with embellished sandals and oversized sunglasses for a late-night meal or even to travel in. In the fall and winter, you can wear it with ankle booties and a faux leather biker jacket like I did. I added extra attitude by wearing leopard print booties, pin covered biker jacket and my new favorite Divine earrings from RebsRainbowHaus! However, This would be adorable with a striped turtleneck, flats, and an oversized cardigan in the winter months. This piece is made from stretchy, soft, knit cotton and is easy to wear. I love the elastic at the waist because it allows you to define your waist as much as you prefer. That is great if you are wearing it as is or with a t-shirt or long-sleeved blouse underneath.

Plus, did I happen to mention... IT HAS POCKETS?! In fact, it has pockets at the waist and one on the chest to boot!

Ayda Textured Cardigan in Navy by LOVE ELLIE, Size 2x — Retail Value $46.00

Speaking of different ways to style the Gilli jumpsuit, I love it paired with this cardigan my stylist selected for me as well. I wore this cardigan along with a comfortable pair of white studded mules.  The color palette of this piece definitely screams fall to me with the different shades of squash and ginger against the deep navy blue. The knit of this sweater has a lovely texture and is the perfect thickness. Not too thin or an overwhelmingly dense knit either. This would look great paired with a mock turtleneck, terracotta/camel mini skirt, black tights, and boots for a perfect autumn outfit.

Emilia Knit Dress by Gilli, Size 3x— Retail Value $58.00

This deep berry dress dotted with abstract black and white dots definitely makes me think of fall moreso than summer. The color is a jewel tone shade that would look gorgeous paired with a mustard yellow cardigan and black opaque tights. The material has loads of stretch and is ultra-comfortable to wear. I did ultra-simple styling by just wearing this piece with my go-to white Mary Janes from Torrid and some silver statement earrings. Not only can this be layered with a cardigan as previously mentioned, but you could easily layer this with a turtleneck, tights, and boots in the winter.

Margie Knit Dress by FORTUNE + IVY, Size 3x  — Retail Value $48.00

This might be my favorite piece from this month's selections, yinz! The dress has such a classic cut, the fabric is buttery soft with ample stretch, and I absolutely love the cut out at the cleavage.  The polka dot print is similar to the last dress in that the dots are irregular and more abstract. This is another piece too that can be worn all year long. I didn't have to do much to make this dress look great; I once again paired it with my white Mary Janes and some Mary Quaint Mod-inspired earrings from one of my fave makers, RebsRainbowHaus! This will easily translate into cooler months by wearing this dress with tights, a thick knit cardigan, and combat boots, or for the office in a blazer and platform heels.

Vivienne Knit Midi Dress by Nine Britton, Size 3x— Retail Value $58.00

Okay, so this dress DEFINITELY is not a fall or winter dress. Stitch Fix allows you to check out what your stylist selects for you before sending your month's items. I had favorited this dress earlier in the summer, but when my stylist, Torey, listed this beauty-- I simply couldn't decline! I was curious how this piece would look for months, so my curiosity won out! I absolutely love the color palette of pinks, yellows, and greens against the black background. This dress has a 70s vibe to it-- I feel like I should be going to a discotheque in this number!  This also would be a fantastic summer dress paired with my Bad Sandy from Grease heels and a large-brimmed black hat.  One will not go home dateless in a number like this one!

The Verdict

This month's Stitch Fix had a fun mix of versatile pieces. I loved the dresses and jumpsuit that Torey chose for me best. I am all for pieces that can be worn throughout the year in different ways! I truly feel like my stylist, Torey, and I collaborate well together. I feel like my feedback is heard and that she takes it into account each time she creates a Fix for me. She not only reads my direct feedback, but also what I "bookmark" or list as a favorite on the site, and even what I post on my Pinterest and Instagram. She is thorough and thoughtful! I can't suggest enough to give frequent feedback! Don't be afraid to address your likes and dislikes with your stylist. This makes their job so much easier and allows for you to get dream additions for your wardrobe! Keep in mind too-- you also have the ability to personally select pieces for your Stitch Fix as well! This is an awesome feature if you are a shopping fiend like me! Did you also know that Stitch Fix now allows you to shop on their site for clothing items, accessories, foundation garments, and also shoes without getting a monthly Stitch Fix sent to you? This is awesome if you aren't interested in the monthly Fix. You can peruse their site and just outright buy brands exclusive to Stitch Fix!  With all these options, how can you not like Stitch Fix? I followed through and gave Torey ample feedback; I can't wait to see what I get next month, can you?

Can you still get these pieces if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This personal styling service has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $264. The cost of each item is listed alongside it, above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $178 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s about a 31% discount!
