All the Subscriptions I Depend on Each Month

Liz Cadman

Since I started My Subscription Addiction, I've been obsessed with the surprise element of monthly beauty and lifestyle subscription boxes. But something I don't post about or review frequently are all the other subscriptions I depend on. I've rounded up my favorite essential, behind-the-scenes subscriptions that make my life run smoothly. I'd also love to hear what your essential subscriptions are in the comments!

Here are the subscriptions that I depend on every month:

Thrive Market

Image via our review.

The Cost: Annual subscription fee is $60. Sign up here.

Why I Love It: Thrive Market is somewhat similar to the Costco model but online only. You pay an annual fee ($60) to get access to shop their market at prices that are lower than you would likely find in your local supermarket. I shop Thrive Market several times a month for almost all our non-perishable goods. (Pre-pandemic, they had excellent free gifts with every order, too.)

See my review of Thrive Market (and all my favorite food and snack discoveries) here.

Chewy

Image via our review.

The Cost: Save 5% on autoship subscriptions to the products of your choice. Sign up here.

Why I Love It: Chewy has the best customer care and makes it so easy to keep dog food, treats, and flea and tick medication stocked for Buckles!

See my review of Chewy here.

Fabletics

Image via our review.

The Cost: $49.95 a month BUT! I recommend you skip every month before you're charged on the 5th. Sign up here.

Why I Love It: I pretty much live in the High-Waisted Powerhold Legging from Fabletics. I have a dozen+ of these leggings in black, and I've been wearing them regularly for years. They seriously hold up!

And here's my best hack on how to make the most of your Fabletics subscription:

  1. They usually have an amazing new subscriber offer like 2 pairs of leggings for $12 each. Sign up with that.
  2. Set a reminder for yourself to skip each month by the 5th.
  3. Wait for the emails about their sales and shop those!

(By subscribing and skipping each month you'll keep access to all their exclusive sales and deals without having to pay the monthly fee. The sales are seriously good, too, like a free pair of leggings with an order, or 70% off select styles, etc. And the $49.95 credit you would have to spend if you don't skip actually is frustrating because you can't combine it with their sale offers!)

Seed Probiotics

The Cost: $49.99 a month. Sign up here.

Why I Love It: I've tried a few different probiotics over the years, and my stomach really agrees with this one, so I'm now a complete convert. (If you're thinking about trying it, they offer a 30-day refund if you try it and decide it isn't for you.)

Check out my Seed Probiotics review here.

MasterClass

The Cost: $180 for an annual subscription. Sign up here.

Why I Love It: I try to combine one or two MasterClass lessons a day with my treadmill time and feel very accomplished. I've also gifted my mom a subscription and we're taking classes "together" so we can discuss them and connect about something that isn't news when we're physically apart for a while.

See my review here.

Ritual Vitamins

Image via our review.

The Cost: $30 a month. Sign up here.

Why I Love It: Another supplement that suits with my stomach! I've been taking this multivitamin for well over a year and it seems like the formula was designed for my sensitive stomach issues!

Check out my Ritual Vitamins review here.

Bartesian

Bartesian

The Cost: $42.74 for 18 cocktail capsules, $349.99 for the Bartesian machine. Sign up here. (also available on Amazon.)

Why I Love It: My husband Eric and I bought a Bartesian a few months ago and we absolutely love it. (It's like a Keurig but for cocktails.) We have a subscription for their cocktail mix capsules. (Margaritas for me and Gimlets for Eric.)

Audible

Woman Listening to Audible

The Cost: $14.95 a month for one book credit and access to Audible original content. Sign up here.

Why I Love It: I love listening to some interesting yet non-alarming non-fiction before I fall asleep, so the 1-book-credit a month subscription plan from Audible works out perfectly for me to listen to about 20 minutes of a book per night. (I just listened to Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and loved it. Her voice is so soothing, too!)

Apple News+

The Cost: $9.99 a month. Sign up here.

Why I Love It: I LOVE magazines, and I LOVED my Texture Magazine app before it was acquired by Apple, and while I miss the functionality of Texture, Apple News+ does the job. You get pretty much all popular digital magazines every month for the $9.99 monthly cost. Opening up this app and reading a new magazine every day is the critical piece of my morning ritual.

So those are my essential subscriptions that make my life better and easier each month. What subscriptions do you depend on?

There are also two free apps from local libraries for audio books: libby and hoopla. Their selections are not as extensive as audible, but good enough for me.

I finally signed up for Thrive, and switched to Ritual from the multi I was using with Methylated B vitamins. I already started Seed due to your reviews, and It is amazing. Thanks, Liz!

Thank you, Liz! I love Audible and have been a member since 2009! I have been eyeing Fabletics and Masterclass for a while. You’ve just helped me to go for it. It’s time I learned something new and I live in my leggings, especially since the shelter in place.

If you love magazines, check with your local library. Mine has a free app called RBDigital and they have a large selection including all new and current magazines! I love it and it’s supporting my local community. Plus free ebook apps!

I like audible. I often can’t sleep, so I like to listen to a book, which ends up playing all night. The background noise helps me sleep.
