I remember when I first started using supplements over a decade ago - man, was I overwhelmed with all the options that were available! Thankfully, I received tons of guidance from people who had experience in this area which helped me to figure out what I needed quickly and not waste a ton of time or money on useless products. I consider myself pretty lucky to have had such strong support in this area as many people do not have trusted sources they can rely on and some even decide not to try out supplements at all after being inundated with annoying sales pitches and conflicting information on the reliability of most products.

So, what can people do who still want to give vitamins and supplements a try but have no game plan or knowledge about them whatsoever? They can turn to Persona!

Persona offers an approach to vitamins and supplements that’s unmatched by its competitors and provides incredible guidance on choosing which products will actually benefit you the most. Basically, they're your new best friend and mentor when it comes down to achieving your health goals.

If you’ve finally given in to trying out supplements and need a brief overview on how to best use Persona to optimize your health, then this guide is exactly what you need. I’ll provide 5 steps that you can follow when choosing what to add to your vitamin pack before subscribing so that it’s got exactly what you need for your desired health outcomes.

Step 1 - Start With Basic Coverage

While you may eat a nutrient-rich diet, it’s always helpful to have a form of nutritional insurance for the days that aren’t so perfect or for when you need extra support. One of the easiest ways to get into using supplements is by first choosing a multivitamin, and Persona almost always includes this within your initial custom vitamin pack.

Personally, I love using Women's Foundational Multivitamin by Persona on a daily basis and appreciate that 1) everything I need is in one capsule and 2) it contains nutrients that are crucial to my health needs that can't be found in some other brands (i.e. vitamins D3 and K2, methylated B vitamins, chromium, iodine, and selenium).

Step 2 - Purchase Supplements That Are Specific To Your Health Goals

Another factor that Persona always takes into consideration when building your vitamin pack is your top health goals. I chose energy, mood, and digestion as my top 3.

Persona included supplements like Chromium Picolinate and ALA (found in Blood Sugar Balance) to help out with my energy as well as Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies, Peppermint Plus, and Digestive Enzymes to help out with digestion.

However, if you want to avoid having too many pills in one vitamin pack, Persona also offers curated packs that only contain 3-5 ingredients per pouch. Curated packs like Weight Loss Support or Energy Vitamin Pack would do the job just as well if simplicity is your friend.

Step 3 - Add Supplements That Help Fill-In Nutrient Gaps

While Persona’s multivitamins provide extensive coverage for most nutrients, there are still other products you should consider stacking your vitamin pack with, such as Omega-3 or DHA w/Vitamin D, Iron with Vitamin C (specifically for women), and Spirulina.

Generally, Persona will ask you during the vitamin quiz what your diet is like along with other supplements you’re currently taking so that it can better assess your nutrient deficiencies and not inundate you with nutrients you already consume on a regular basis. I'm not always the best when it comes to eating salmon (even though I know it's amazing for me), so Persona recommended that I take Omega-3 (the stronger version).

Step 4 - Consider Supplements That Function As Nootropics

If you struggle with maintaining focus or need to stabilize your mood (that's totally an everyday struggle for me), using nutrients that work as nootropics can be an absolute life-saver. Some of the best supplements that Persona offers for cognitive function include 5-HTP, Ashwagandha, Cordyceps, Green Tea Extract, and N-Acetyl Cysteine.

I chose to include 5-HTP, NAC, and Ashwagandha in my vitamin pack and have noticed substantial improvements in my anxiety - talk about an absolute lifesaver!

Step 5 - Select Supplements That Support Training And Recovery

Last, but not least, Persona offers supplements that enhance training and accelerate recovery. Options include Vital Proteins® Hydration + Collagen Sticks (Lemon Lime or Tropical) and BCAAs.

You may not consider these products essential like your multi, but they certainly optimize performance and provide a fun and easy way to enhance training. I love adding the lemon-lime sticks and BCAAs to my intra workout drink and sipping it throughout my training session. I've noticed a major reduction in cramps and feel like I can push harder for longer.
