Silk + Sonder September 2026
September is here, and I am really struggling with that fact. It seems like just yesterday I was counting down the days until summer vacation, and now it is almost over. This year, we were blessed with a late Labor Day, which extended our vacay another week, but boy, am I not ready to get back into the swing of things! Football is ramping up, and our schedule is already nutso. Without the help of this planner, I’d be toast!
With our chaotic schedule, I need my Silk + Sonder planner to keep track of my day-to-day life. It has become an essential part of my routine, helping me manage everything I need to get done. Without this little booklet, I’d be completely lost.
Not only is it beautiful to look at, but it also gives me a chance to pause, reflect, and reset. It helps me stay organized, grounded, and just a little more in control of everything life throws our way. Honestly, I can’t imagine managing it all without it.
Focus — The directed attention or concentrated effort toward a specific intention, goal, or present moment — essential for clarity, self-care, and growth.
I love that Silk + Sonder chooses a unique theme each month, and I truly appreciate how thoughtfully Meha Agrawal, the creator, curates each one. September’s theme is Focus, and as soon as I read the word, I knew it was exactly the theme I needed this month. With so many changes happening between work, school, schedules, and sports, I feel like a spinning duck! Focus is exactly what I need right now, and this journal has already helped me get through so much.
Life has been moving so quickly, and this month’s planner reminded me to slow down, be present, and move forward with intention. We only get one life, so it’s important to make the most of it and embrace our own unique journeys.
This month, I’m focusing on being present, appreciating each and every moment, and reminding myself not to compare my life to anyone else’s. ❤️
One of my favorite things about Silk + Sonder is receiving a fresh planner each month. That little reset feels so refreshing—year-long planners always end up feeling overwhelming to me. This planner does include a year-at-a-glance page, but the boxes are quite small, so I mainly use it as a quick reference when looking ahead at future dates.
At the beginning of each month, I fill in the calendar with upcoming events, and before I know it, the days start flying by. Because sports practice times are only given a week at a time, our calendar looks pretty quiet right now. Trust me, that is definitely not the case! As soon as I get the practice schedules, I add those times to the calendar, and it helps me stay on track. I typically take a photo of it and send it to my husband so he can be part of the chaos and try to keep track, too.
Staying organized plays a huge role in managing my anxiety, so having a quick-reference calendar right at the front of my planner is a lifesaver. It helps me stay grounded and calm when life gets hectic—especially during seasons when taking things one day at a time just isn’t quite enough.
On page 6, we turn to the “Future Log,” which includes two small calendars for the upcoming months. There’s just enough space to jot down quick notes—and honestly, I’m so focused on the now that I don’t even want to think about October or November yet. Bleh!!! Can we please just have a few more months of warm weather?!
On the opposite page, we have a piece of grid paper for notes, lists, or anything else you might need a little scratch space for!
Page 8 offers space to reflect on the previous month, with sections to capture your wins, challenges, and favorite moments. It’s such a helpful way to pause and evaluate what’s working—and what isn’t. This is one of my favorite pages because it reminds me to acknowledge the small accomplishments that might otherwise go unnoticed. There’s also a section to jot down what you want to start, stop, and continue moving forward.
August was a wild month. There were so many ups and downs! My wins included county fair victories, finishing 5Ks, and a trip to the Cities. Some of my challenges included losing my kitty cat, Miley, dealing with health troubles and multiple doctor appointments, running around nonstop, and just being busy. My favorite moments included getting two new kitties, attending my cousin’s wedding, Flower Beauty, and the fairs.
Even with all the chaos, August turned out to be a fun and memorable month—just a little too busy!
Reflecting on these moments helps keep me grounded. Even when things feel difficult, life is still filled with so much goodness, and I love that this page encourages me to recognize and hold on to those moments.
Next up is the Monthly Intentions page. I love this section because it gives you space to set meaningful goals and revisit them throughout the month. With six categories and boxes to fill in, there’s plenty of room to jot down your thoughts and ideas.
It’s not necessarily a to-do list—it’s more about starting the month with intention and reminding yourself what you’d like to focus on. This month, my intentions are pretty simple, but I really do need to find a new prayer (and maybe a health anxiety) podcast! I also need to focus on getting back in shape now that the 5K is over. I never really trained for it, and honestly, I almost threw up after crossing the finish line! Ekkkk!!
As I mentioned earlier, Silk + Sonder is so much more than just a planner—and the trackers on pages 10 and 11 are proof of that. These pages feature a mood tracker and a habit tracker, giving you space to log your daily moods and monitor your habits throughout the month.
I find this feature especially helpful for identifying patterns, which is something that truly supports me in managing my anxiety. What I love most is how customizable these trackers are—you can focus on exactly what matters most to you, all while enjoying such a beautiful design.
Silk + Sonder typically ships about a week and a half before the new month begins, so while I’ve already created my “keys” for each tracker, I haven’t started filling them in just yet. Here is where I get back on the health train and find those podcasts!! Wooo hooo!!
Page 12 features another tracker—this one focused on sleep. I don’t usually have trouble in that department, so this is a page I tend to skip. The opposite page, however, is one of my favorites. Page 13 includes a gratitude log, which provides a line for each of the 30 days in September to jot down something I’m grateful for.
I truly believe practicing gratitude is one of the simplest ways to shift your mindset and find more joy in everyday moments, even if you don’t use this specific planner. Especially during tough or stressful seasons, taking a few minutes to reflect on what we’re thankful for can serve as a gentle reminder that there is still so much goodness and beauty around us.
I love that this page encourages me to slow down and intentionally notice the little things—the moments, people, and blessings that are easy to overlook when life gets busy.
This month’s theme is Focus, and on page 14, there are prompts inviting us to reflect on when we feel the most focused during our day and what environments, habits, and people help support that feeling. We’re also asked to think about distractions and which areas of our lives deserve more focused energy this month. I’ve started pondering these questions and jotted down some answers, but I’ll circle back throughout the month to add more.
On the opposite page, we have space to create a Focus Map. This activity creates a mind map with “focus” at the center. We’re encouraged to write down 2–3 practices or boundaries that could help us focus more internally in each area. The areas include self-care, work or purpose, relationships, home or environment, and personal growth.
I did write down a couple of things, but I’ll continue to ponder this map as the month goes on. Since writing these things down, I’ve already taken action. I focused on setting up my workroom, even though I had to volunteer my time to get it done, and my anxiety does feel a little calmer now that it’s organized. I also took a hot bath and instantly felt better. Writing things down and doing them intentionally really does help, and I’m excited that I could see almost instant results!
The next page introduces a new activity called “The Focus Filter.” In this exercise, you’re asked to list anything that has been stealing your focus—habits, worries, digital distractions, noise, or even things that aren’t aligned with your values. Then, you’re given space to write down what those distractions might be trying to tell you and what shift you can make to reclaim your attention.
I have so many things to list that I wouldn’t even know where to start! Ha! I definitely plan on working through this exercise in the mornings with my coffee, and I’m excited to see how it helps me manage my anxiety and, hopefully, clear some of the mental clutter.
On the opposite page, we’re given a beautiful poem written by Christine Evangelou titled “Butterfly.” It’s a lovely read, and it really resonated with me.
The next page features a really pretty coloring page this month. A loosely bunched bouquet of flowers offers plenty of relaxing time to color! I used some alcohol ink markers to color this one, and I loved the pigment. They did bleed through onto the poem page, but I had already read it, and I can still see the poem if I want to go through it again. The tips of my markers aren’t tiny enough for some of the smallest details, so I’ll probably use colored pencils for those areas, but I absolutely love how it turned out!
On the opposite page, there’s a “Noticing Nature Game” that asks you to find some freshly blooming plants or flowers and answer a few questions. I have a huge garden filled with poppies, zinnias, and dahlias, so I’m excited to do this activity—I just haven’t had time to get to it yet!
Every Silk + Sonder journal includes a recipe, and this month’s dish calls for ingredients I don’t currently have on hand—which is usually the case for me with these recipes! This month’s featured recipe is for an Apple-Ginger Moscow Mule Mocktail, and because my husband doesn’t drink, I would love to make this if I had the right ingredients! It looks both enticing and beautiful, so let me know in the comments if you’ve made something similar and whether it’s worth purchasing the cider and ginger beer!
On the opposite page is a “Brain Dump” activity. Like I mentioned before, my anxiety has been ramping up. This page gives you space to release the tension in your jaw, take a deep breath, and write down every single thing that’s churning in your mind. Once it’s out of your head, take another deep breath and reflect on it later.
I found this extremely helpful for letting go of the things that are out of my control, and it truly relieved some of my stress! I plan on doing this activity more often!
Blank sheets are always helpful and a great place to do some long division, write notes, and jot down addresses!
Each month, we get some kind of brain puzzle, and this time, it’s a word puzzle! I like these kinds of puzzles, but I only had a few minutes to sit down and work on it. Finding words is right up my alley, and I really enjoy taking the time to do something like this! I also think I solved this month’s riddle! I first asked the kids what they thought the answer was, and then I came up with my own answer. They think I got it right, but I won’t know for sure until next month. Wooo, winning!!
On the opposite page, there’s an expense tracker. While it’s a great feature, I don’t personally use it since I already track my expenses in a Google Doc. That’s one of the things I really appreciate about this journal—it’s designed to be flexible and can be used in whatever way works best for you.
I love that this journal always starts on a Monday, and because September falls on a Tuesday, we get an extra August day! When it comes to the journal as a whole, I probably spend the most time on these calendar pages. With sections for meal planning, to-do lists, habits and activities, shopping lists, and daily schedules, I truly write everything here.
These pages help keep me on track each day and give me that satisfying sense of accomplishment—because honestly, there’s nothing better than crossing something off a list! I also really appreciate the thoughtful extras included throughout these pages. While I don’t always fill out the section about how I want to feel each week, I found it especially helpful this time to write those intentions down and pray over them.
This journal is seriously so helpful and has become such an important part of my routine!
Tidying up with one last quote, the dictionary definition of "sonder," and the back cover, that's all there is to it. I have come to find that a key part of my day is when I sit and fill out my planner with my cup of coffee. This quiet time happens before the kids are awake, and kicks my day off to a good start before the chaos starts. It is extremely important for me to keep a consistent schedule for managing my anxiety and creating much more positive life, and this journal definitely is a big help in that.
The Verdict
I have to say, I truly enjoyed September’s theme of Focus because the lack of a schedule during summer vacation, along with all the extra things going on, had me in a tailspin. I needed a reminder to hone in on what matters and stay organized, and it has truly helped me manage my anxiety! Every moment is a gift, and I really need to slow down, relax, and savor the little moments I’m given.
Silk + Sonder has been an incredible source of support through both the good times and the challenging ones. It has truly become a necessity in my daily routine! Without this planner, I’d definitely feel lost—and so would my husband!
I continue to be impressed with this subscription and can’t wait to see what October has in store.
I typically set aside about 15–20 minutes each day for this journal, flipping from front to back as I reflect, add to, and process what I’ve written. By the end of the month, my thoughts feel much more organized, and I feel more grounded. The beauty of this planner is remarkable, and its portable size means I can easily carry it with me in my purse wherever I go.
I’ve been so impressed with every aspect of this journal, and I’m truly looking forward to continuing this journey of learning more about myself—all while staying organized, enjoying a little daily quiet time, and prioritizing meaningful self-care.
