First Impressions
Since Walmart did their reboot a few seasons ago, their shipping has been top notch. For the past year, I have received the quarterly Walmart Beauty Box within a few weeks of the season change. I am all about timeliness, and I just couldn't wait to see what this season might bring. What was in store to start off the fall of 2025? Read below to find out!
This quarter we received a pamphlet detailing the "Perfect Fall Beauty Haul" theme. With 9 different options listed, you are guaranteed to receive a box full of goodness. Being a mix of skin care, hair care, and make-up, the choices were rounded out quite well, but just what size items did they send?
OGX Renewing + Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo - Travel Size - Retail Value $1.60
The first item I received was a travel-sized bottle of OGX Argan Oil of Morocco shampoo. This formula is designed to repair and strengthen hair—and it smells amazing. With a light floral and citrus scent, the shampoo is both sulfate-free and paraben-free. I love these smaller bottles for travel; they’re not only perfect for hotel stays but also super convenient for camping. Personally, I absolutely need conditioner when I wash my hair, so I wish that had been included as well. Still, it was fun to try out this formula, and I really did enjoy the scent.
Adidas Vibes Eau de Parfum - Sample Size - Retail Value $0.63
The next item I received was a sample of Adidas perfume. This "Get Comfy" spray features notes of vanilla and mandarin, creating a scent that’s both calming and warm. Adidas isn’t a brand I typically associate with fragrance, but honestly, I do like this perfume. It has decent longevity—I sprayed it on my sweatshirt in the morning and could still catch a hint of it by evening. Overall, this is something I could see myself wearing daily, and I might just pick up a full-sized bottle.
Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Diamond Mascara - Estimated Value $2.31
Mascara is definitely an item I enjoy receiving, and while this one wasn’t my favorite, it was still fun to try. I’ve used quite a few Physicians Formula products in the past and usually enjoy them, but I’m just not a fan of small plastic wand bristles. This formula has decent staying power and provided an okay amount of volume, but it took several layers to build up. While it’s not a makeup item I’d purchase in the future, I’m still glad I got to test it out.
CoverGirl Clean Invisible Foundation - Estimated Value $0.07
I’m not usually a fan of foil samples, but I did enjoy receiving this CoverGirl set because it allows me to find the perfect shade throughout the year. Another fun aspect of the set is that you can mix some of the shades to create a custom match that’s just right. While it can be a little messy to use, it’s great for shade matching and makes it easy to adjust when I get my summer tan on!
It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In - Travel Size - Estimated Value $8.00
I love hair products, and the "It’s a 10" Miracle Leave-In is one of my all-time favorites. This product truly does it all—it repairs dry, damaged hair, controls frizz, prevents split ends, detangles, protects hair color, and even offers thermal protection. The fruity floral scent smells divine, and it’s easy to spray in and work with. I’m obsessed with this spritz and use it every day before straightening my hair. It works wonders and leaves a scent I love smelling throughout the day!
CeraVe Intensive Moisturizing Lotion - Sample Size - Estimated Value $1.49
The next item I received was a small container of CeraVe Intensive Moisturizing Lotion. With dry season in full swing, lotion is a must-have for me. Although this item wasn’t listed in the fall pamphlet, I was happy to receive it! Designed for people with dry to very dry skin, this lotion helps restore the skin barrier and provides lasting hydration. I can personally attest that it works—my hands get extremely dry from frequent washing at school, and this keeps them from cracking and bleeding like they used to. It has only a slight natural scent and absorbs nicely into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, which is exactly what I look for in a lotion. I was genuinely excited to get this as part of the box!
Milani Primer Sachet - Foil Packet - Estimated Value $1.01
The last item I received was another foil packet—this one containing a sample of Milani primer. While I do enjoy a good primer, I really dislike foil packets, and this one was no exception. The top tore open messily, making it difficult to get the product out cleanly. That said, there was plenty to use, and I did like the formula; it helped create a smoother base for my foundation. I saved the rest overnight to use the next day, but it dried out and didn’t feel as nice. I’d love to receive this product in different packaging in the future, but I still appreciated the chance to try it. At a full-size price of $13.97, it wouldn’t break the bank if I decided to try the full size version—but seriously, I just can't stand those foil packets!
Verdict
Fall is here—and so is the wind! My fine hair tangles even on a calm day, so this season’s Walmart Beauty Box arrived just in time with the "It’s a 10" Leave-In Detangler to save my strands from disaster. Overall, I thought the mix of haircare, makeup, perfume, and skincare was well-balanced, and I genuinely enjoyed the inclusions, even though I didn’t receive any full-size items this time around. This month’s box had a total retail value of $15.11, which is quite a bit lower than previous months, but I still found the products useful. Hopefully, next season brings more full-size items and fewer foil packets—Walmart Beauty, take notes!
