Medusa's Make-Up Beauty Box is a vegan and cruelty-free makeup subscription box from the popular indie brand of the same name. Each month you'll receive a box of 3-5 vegan beauty products for just $25.95 with free shipping, with a total value of around $40. The shades and colors are always unique and the packaging is super fun!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The October 2025 Box

As a long-time beauty enthusiast and subscription box reviewer, I've tried just about every make-up box out there. Medusa’s Make-Up, though, has steadily carved out a special spot in my rotation. When I first got the chance to review one of their boxes, I was curious, and now, several months (and many fun looks) later, I’m fully hooked. Each delivery brings something bold, cruelty-free, and totally unique. So, what’s inside October's box? Let’s dive in and see what this month has to offer!

Wrapped in a beautiful pink foil mailer, it was love at first sight! I was so excited to find this in my mailbox—I actually jumped for joy! This month, my products arrived in a fun, reusable bubble mailer. Everything was securely packaged, arrived in perfect condition, and now I have a new travel pouch to use!

Now, let’s dig in and see what I received!

Kicking things off, we have an info card that lists everything included in the box, along with the retail values. There doesn’t seem to be a specific theme this month, but the orange glitter background definitely gives off Halloween vibes—if I do say so myself! Let’s check it out, shall we?

Medusa Bake Eyeshadow - Raven - Retail Value $14.00

October just wouldn’t be complete without some black eyeshadow in the mix—so this was the perfect item to kick off the curation. I’ve received a few versions of this baked eyeshadow before and really enjoy the formula and staying power. This particular shade is a deep black that can be applied lightly for a soft grey effect or built up for a bold, pitch-black look. While I usually stick to dark brown tones, I do like to amp things up for special occasions. Adding some extra drama, I’m excited to put this to use during Homecoming week and Halloween. Pics coming soon!!

36H Eyeliner Pen - Listed Value $10.00

One of my favorite makeup items to receive is liquid eyeliner. I use it daily and am always on the lookout for the next best brand. This version includes everything I look for in a liquid eyeliner: a small, flexible tip for creating a smooth cat-eye, great staying power, and a rich, dramatic color. At a reasonable price point, this might just be my new fave!

Medusa Disco Queen Lip Gloss - Bad Girls – Listed Value $14.00

The next item I received was a really pretty lip gloss. Generally, I prefer a colorless gloss since I usually wear smoky eye makeup. However, this month I discovered a lovely purple glitter gloss—and I’m obsessed!

I know this photo makes the gloss look pretty clear and colorless, but in true sunlight, it actually has a beautiful shimmery purple tint. While it's fun on its own, it also works really well as a topper! I layered it over the bright pink matte lip stick we got from Medusa’s Makeup a few months ago and loved the ‘80s vibe it gave off. Yay for fun colors!!

Medusa Glitter Gel -  Listed Value $9.00

Glitter was definitely my best friend in the early 2000s—but now that I’m older, I’m kind of over it. That said, I still appreciate receiving it and “having” to test it out. 😉 Purple isn’t a shade I wear often, but as a Minnesota Vikings fan, this glitter might actually come in handy! With its large confetti-style pieces, I feel like it’s better suited as a body glitter. When I tried applying it to my eyelids, one of the pieces ended up in my eye—ouch. The info card calls it a glitter gel, but to me, it looked more like a loose glitter. Still, it stayed in place fairly well with a little primer and a spritz of hairspray.

So, this was kind of a disaster—and that’s okay. I just wanted to see what would happen if I applied it like an eyeshadow, and... yeah, it did not go well. Lesson learned: it’s definitely best as body glitter. Let’s go, Vikings!!

Medusa Eyelashes - Listed Value $12.00

Perfect for Halloween festivities, we also received a set of fake eyelashes. Presented in a sweet little plastic container, they looked great—but they’re just not something I’ll use. I wanted to try them, but I’d have needed to buy glue, and honestly, I have never—ever—managed to get a pair of falsies to look good. While I’ve given up on falsies for myself, some high school girls I work with are obsessed with them. With the end of the quarter fast approaching, I’m definitely going to use these as a little incentive to get one of them to turn in their missing work. Think it will work?

Velvet Scrunchie w/ Zipper Pocket - Retail Value $6.00

The last item we received was a velvet scrunchie with a zipper pouch. This cute accessory is soft to the touch and perfectly fits October’s color palette. It’s a great way to store a few dollars or a key—both cute and functional!

Here, you can see a few of this month’s items in action. I’m wearing the black eyeshadow, eyeliner pen, "Bad Girls" lip gloss, and the scrunchie. Overall, it creates a really cute look!

The Verdict

This month’s curation from Medusa’s Make-Up was perfect for the season and offered a great mix of products. Overall, I really enjoyed everything—except for the eyelashes, which will still make a great incentive prize, so it worked out anyway! Of all the items I received, the liquid eyeliner and gloss were my favorites, but I’ll definitely be using the other products too. What did you think of this month’s curation? What was your favorite item? Let me know in the comments below!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You'll likely receive the November box. Some past boxes are also available for a one-time purchase here.

Value Breakdown: I estimate I received $65.00 worth of items this month with these five items. This is more than triple the cost of the box! That's definitely a good value for $25.95!
