First Impressions

Open Envelope for Ipsy Glam Bag September 2025

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month’s theme is "More is More," and the bag design certainly leans into the nostalgia factor. The glossy, jewel-toned print paired with the oversized bejeweled zipper instantly transported me back to the 90s. Remember those stick-on earrings from back in the day? It’s playful, a little kitschy, and definitely not your everyday neutral, which makes it stand out in a fun way.

E.L.F. SKIN Bronzing Drops in Copper Gold, 30 ml - Retail Value $13.00

Front of E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops in Copper Gold for Ipsy Glam Bag September 2025

A little shimmer goes a long way with the E.L.F. Skin Bronzing Drops in Copper Gold, though I’ll admit these lean more toward my teenage-night-out fantasy than my current reality. Described as a "serum," the formula feels much thicker than what I’d usually associate with such a product, but I can see why it’s framed that way. These drops are infused with nourishing goodies like sunflower seed oil and vitamin E, which keep it from being just another makeup topper. Plus, you can mix it in with your moisturizer to thin it out a bit. The shade, Copper Gold, is a bit too deep for my skin tone, but I do like that it’s versatile enough to use on both the face and body. Definitely an ideal go-to for anyone chasing that sun-kissed, just-back-from-vacation glow. While it’s not something I’d wear on an everyday basis, I can imagine it being a fun touch for a night out.

SONÄGE SKINCARE Gommage Exfoliating Gel, 15 ml - Retail Value $20.00

Front of Sonage Exfoliating Gel for Ipsy Glam Bag September 2025

There’s something oddly satisfying about watching this gel transform as you work it across the skin. The Sonäge Skincare Gommage Exfoliating Gel doesn’t rely on harsh scrubbing, but instead gently peels away dead skin cells in little rolls that you can actually see. It feels more like a facial peel than a standard exfoliator, and that’s exactly why I like it. With ingredients like locust bean husk for hydration, camphor bark oil for calming irritation, and nettle extract to eliminate redness, it delivers quite a powerful punch. It also doubles as a purifying mask while still leaving my skin soft and refreshed rather than stripped. Because it is more intense than my everyday skincare, I’ve kept it to a once-a-week ritual, and my sensitive skin has been happy with that. The payoff is worth it: smooth, baby-fresh skin. Unique and chemical-free, this one feels like a little spa moment at home.

INNISFREE Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Cream, 10 ml - Estimated Value $6.40

Front of Innisfree Brightening Cream for Ipsy Glam Bag September 2025

Finding a vitamin C cream that my sensitive skin actually loves is a rare occasion, and this Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Cream from Innisfree is one of them. The gel-cream texture is lightweight, refreshing, and completely non-greasy. Perfect for warm California days when heavy creams are the last thing I want on my face. Packed with green tea enzymes, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid, it works overtime to brighten and even out dark spots while keeping my skin plump and hydrated. What impresses me most is how gentle it is; vitamin C products tend to result in dryness and irritation for me, but this one glides on smoothly without triggering breakouts or sensitivity. I can honestly see myself using this to the very last drop.

LES BEAUTY Matte Face Primer, 20 ml - Retail Value $20.00

Front of Les Beauty Matte Primer for Ipsy Glam Bag September 2025

Some primers feel more like an obligatory step, but the Les Beauty Matte Face Primer surprised me by how much I enjoy wearing it on its own. The water-based formula gives me that soft matte finish I’m always chasing, keeping shine under control without drying out my skin. A balance like that is harder to find than it should be. This primer feels hydrating yet never greasy, and I love that it leaves behind no tacky residue, just a smooth, velvety base. While I did notice it didn’t mesh quite as seamlessly with my usual foundation as my everyday primer does, I’ve found myself reaching for it on no-makeup days when I just want my skin to look fresh and put-together. For a standalone primer, this is a solid option.

BLINC Eye Repair Peptide Complex, 5 ml - Estimated Value $10.13

Front of Blinc Eye Peptide Complex for Ipsy Glam Bag September 2025

Eye creams are my happy place, so seeing the Blinc Eye Repair Peptide Complex in this month’s bag felt like hitting the jackpot. This little powerhouse combines caffeine to help with puffiness, bio-peptides to smooth out fine lines by encouraging collagen, and vitamin C to brighten up pigmentation. It’s basically everything you’d want in an eye treatment packed into one small tube. I’ll admit I wasn’t familiar with the brand before this, but I’m glad to have been introduced; the formula is rich and nourishing without being heavy, and it sinks in beautifully without clogging pores or leaving that odd tingling sensation some caffeine-infused products can have. Instead, it just feels hydrating and soothing on my delicate under-eye area, and I’m here for it.

The Verdict

This was a great month for Ipsy Glam Bag! The assortment offered up a strong mix of skincare-forward picks with a few makeup staples sprinkled in. The standout for me was definitely the Innisfree brightening cream. This cream managed to deliver all the brightening benefits of vitamin C without the irritation I usually get, and its gel-cream texture has already made it a new daily favorite. I was also really happy to discover Blinc’s eye peptide: a nourishing formula that checks all the boxes for hydration, puffiness, and fine-line care without feeling heavy or sticky. On the exfoliation front, Sonäge’s gommage gel proved to be a unique addition. Though I only use it once a week, it’s incredibly satisfying to watch the dead skin roll away and be left with baby-smooth skin. The matte primer from Les Beauty has also earned a spot in my rotation – not so much under makeup, since it didn’t pair as well with my usual foundation, but as a solo product it’s lovely for controlling shine while keeping skin moisturized. Lastly, the E.L.F. Skin bronzing drops… The shade was too dark for my skin tone, and the texture felt more like a thick illuminator than a serum. Still, for someone who’s interested in securing a bold glow, this might be your new go-to. Overall, this bag delivered a fun variety and a couple of new faves I’ll be savoring to the very last drop.
