Opening The Box
Who's ready for fall? Or, the Fall Margot Elena Subscription Box, at least? A few weeks ago I wished for summer to never end, but now that the evenings are cool and our rhythm is shifting, I feel ready. It always comes with perfect timing. And, so too does this delightful box of luscious offerings.
Information about what's in the box is listed in this pretty folded info card. I had recently come upon the feathers you'll see throughout my photos at a gorgeous dried flower shop (in fact, the shop carries an extensive array of Margot Elena goods and they always catch my eye!). I had no real game plan for the feathers—perhaps to pair them with plants throughout my home. When I brought them home, my ME box was waiting on my porch, and they looked so pretty together, so I thought I'd experiment with a little feathery fanfare for these wonderful items.
Here's What's Inside
Lollia Breathe Shea Butter Handcreme, 4 oz — Retail Value $29
Breathe continues to be a favorite scent that arrives regularly in our box. Its floral aroma is light and sweet and fresh in a way that no other flowery scent out there seems to be able to capture, perhaps because it's also faintly citrusy and even almost verdant. Plus, of course, the mix of butters and oils in this handcreme—shea, macadamia nut, avocado, and aloe—make for lush hydration that absorbs quickly and leaves skin silky.
Exclusive! The Cottage Greenhouse Cedar & Sweet Orange Relaxing Candle — Listed Value $18
I'm easily wooed by a cedar scent in all its warm, resinous glory. But this take on cedar is new—it's layered with sweet orange, which manifests as a simultaneously uplifting and grounded aroma. This tin is called a "relaxing candle" on its label, and yes, yes, it is so very calming. It nails the mood as we experience the early changing of the seasons. This is a box-exclusive item, but I sure hope they expand it out into a whole series of offerings down the line.
TokyoMilk Greeting Cards in Sealed With a Kiss, Sending You a Message, and floral — Retail Value $5.50 each
Our three sparkle-touched greeting cards of the season are all suited to general "thinking of you" sentiments, or to be purposed however you wish. The floral one is the first I remember that doesn't have a cute little phrase printed on the front. Plus, who doesn't love a dahlia?
Infinite She Eau de Parfum in Fearless, 1.69 fl oz — Retail Value $48
Our perfume of the quarter is this Fearless scent from the Infinite She line. I tend to have a harder time putting my finger on Infinite She scents, as I find them to be a bit more mainstream than the others (TokyoMilk especially). This is not a condemnation, just an observation! The description calls out Wild Geranium + Rosewood, which I'm not as familiar with. A reviewer says it's "earthy, subtle, and feminine," and another says it's "light, fresh, and a little floral." I'm not sure my nose is picking up on the deeper earthy notes that were mentioned, but otherwise, yes, it's a straightforward take on floral that's easy and palatable! It very well might balance out the heavier colors and tones of autumn nicely.
TokyoMilk Dead Sexy Perfumed Shower Gel, 4 oz — Retail Value $18
Such a classic! This beloved TokyoMilk scent went directly into my shower—in fact, I was waiting with fingers crossed for shower gel in this box because I had run out, and a bar of soap just doesn't have the same beautiful lather or lasting scent. The vanilla and orchid tones whirling around with "exotic wood" (heavens, what is this magical wood!?) and ebony offer up a dimensional aroma that's especially perfect to experience in the shower. My kids are as in love with it as I am!
Archive Yet to Be Written Shower Gel, 8 fl oz — Retail Value $23
And, a shower gel to keep in the wings. I'm surprised to see two in one box, but seeing as the TokyoMilk one is 4 oz, it can be tossed in a toiletry bag (like the one from the Summer box), while this one heads to the home shower. This might be a ridiculous claim, but this Archive scent is striking me as almost too...soapy? I know, I know, a wild thing to say about soap. Perhaps it's that it's just strong. I do generally like Yet to Be Written, especially the grapefruit notes that sing out, but something about it has me not so sure for the shower. I'm going to set it aside to offer to my brother. Archive does unisex scents really well.
The Cottage Greenhouse Sugar Beet & Blossom Travel Size Handcreme, 2 oz — Listed Value $14
Another travel-friendly delivery here. This one is quite sweet and sugared, and its blossom side is strong, too. It's pleasant. We subscribers are familiar with this scent in all different forms, and while I do like it and will use it, I'm also so curious about The Cottage Greenhouse aromas we haven't tried yet, like Wild Ginger & Agave or Violette Fig & Black Currant. Heck, even Wild Lavender & Violet sounds interesting, for as classic as lavender is.

Such as it is, we are left with our classic Sugar Beet & Blossom! It's a nice, thick cream, and will serve my skin well as the cold air comes in.
TokyoMilk Believe (Frog) Finest Perfumed Hand Soap — Retail Value $12.50
I may have just thrown bar soap under the bus in favor of body wash, but the truth is I do always keep a bar of this perfumed French triple-milled Shea Butter soap in my shower! And, while I have all manner of fancy face cleansers on my bathroom counter, often my face ends up being washed with classic bar soap when I'm in the shower. It always feels like a good reset, and this one is gentle enough to not dry me out. Great gifting item, too, if bar soap isn't your thing!
Exclusive! TokyoMilk Ménagerie Curiosité Luxe Letter Opener — Listed Value $22
I'm wide-eyed over this gorgeous letter opener! I remember my child self's desperation to get my hands on my grandmother's letter opener, but it was too close to a weapon, and forbidden for all the grandkids. It feels so special to now have my own. Everything from the item itself to the packaging it arrives in is simply gorgeous.
It's a nice weight, and the engraving on the handle is a special touch. This quality letter opener is something I can see sticking around for generations. Now, if only folks would send me as much mail as I send out into the world, I'd have good use for it! Perhaps even junk mail will feel more welcome with this on hand.
