First Impressions
Since Walmart did their reboot a few seasons ago, their shipping has been top notch. For the past year, I have received the quarterly Walmart Beauty Box within a few weeks of the season change. I am all about timeliness, and I just couldn't wait to see what this season might bring. What was in store to start off the summer of 2025? Read below to find out!
This quarter we received a pamphlet detailing the "Sunshine in a Box" theme. With 7 different options listed, you are guaranteed to receive at least five great finds. Being a mix of skin care, hair care, and make-up, the choices were rounded out quite well, but just what size items did they send?
COVERGIRL Lash Blast Cleantopia Mascara - Sample Size - Retail Value $1.63
The first item I received was a small sample of the Covergirl Lash Blast Cleantopia Mascara. In the previous quarter, we received a full-size Covergirl mascara, so I have to be honest—this felt like a bit of a letdown. Although the sample was small, I really liked the fluffy brush and the rich black pigment. The plant-powered formula performed well, providing impressive volume. I tested it out at my niece’s wedding and was pleasantly surprised by its longevity, even on a hot day. Overall, it was a great product to try, but its impact was diminished by the sample size.
Sun Bum Original Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 - Sample Size - Retail Value $2.74
When the kids were little, I received a Sun Bum tube as a gift. I loved the cute labels and coconut scent, but I always preferred the convenience of spray sunscreen. Although this 1 oz tube was enough for a few uses and provided 30 SPF protection with 80 minutes of water resistance, it did take a bit of effort to rub in. My kids absolutely HATE lotion-type sunscreens, so I ended up keeping this in my purse for use at baseball games—though personally, I’d much rather grab the spray too.
Dove Coconut & Pink Jasmine Whole Body Anti-Friction Stick - Estimated Value $2.31
I personally love receiving deodorant in subscription boxes because it’s a product I use daily—and believe me, the good ones can be pricey! This version is by Dove and is aluminum‑free. The coconut and pink jasmine scent is absolutely divine, and it really performed well—lasting close to 72 hours. The unique part? It’s a “whole‑body” deodorant, so you can apply it nearly everywhere to help with both odor and chafing!
EVA NYC Stay Hydrated Leave-In Conditioner - Estimated Value $5.58
I recently had my hair highlighted to celebrate summer, and it definitely took a toll on my strands. To help, I tried the EVA NYC Stay Hydrated Leave‑In Conditioner, which is a clinically tested, clean, cruelty‑free, vegan formula made from responsibly sourced ingredients. Its blend of low‑ and high‑molecular‑weight hyaluronic acid and vegan collagen worked wonders on my fine, tangle‑prone hair, improving manageability. I absolutely love the clean floral fragrance, and it left my hair hydrated, detangled, and noticeably less frizzy. But the standout feature? It provides heat protection up to 450 °F, which is a total game-changer for my flat ironing routine! This truly is a product that’s made a difference in my hair routine, and I’m planning to switch to it permanently from my current leave‑in!
Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Eyeliner - Estimated Value $5.98
The last item I got was a travel-size eyeliner—the Maybelline Master Precise All Day Liquid Eyeliner. It has a super tiny tip that’s perfect for fine details, and honestly, it worked amazingly well. I wore it to my niece’s wedding on a hot day, and it stayed put all day—no smudging or melting, which surprised me! My only gripe? The size. It’s so tiny, and since I use eyeliner every day and absolutely loved this one, I’m really hoping they bring out a full-size version!

On the 21st, my beautiful niece was married and I was able to test out the Summer 2025 Walmart Beauty products in 85 degree weather! All of this seasons products worked great, and were useful on such an important, but steamy day!
Verdict
Summer has arrived, and I am so excited to start embracing the beautiful weather! This season's Walmart Beauty Box featured a pretty good mixture of hair, skin, and makeup items that I enjoyed trying. My favorite items were the deodorant, mascara, leave-in conditioner, and eyeliner, though I also enjoyed the sunscreen. Overall, this month's box had a retail value of $18.24, which is almost 3 times the cost of the box, and had a great mix of haircare, skincare, and makeup. With this lovely curation, I am excited to see what they will have up their sleeve for the fall quarter!
