First Impressions
My box arrived bursting with so many new and cool finds; everything was packaged securely and there was a QR code under the lid that took me to a relaxing playlist to help set the mood.
This leaflet has some of the answers to the questions you might have about the products included in this quarter's box. I like that they include a brand bio for each item so you can learn more about these local, conscious AU & NZ brands.
Now, on to the items!
Retreat Yourself The Daydream Cup - Retail Value AU$39.95 ($25.94 USD)
First up is this beautiful ceramic takeaway coffee cup. It’s hard to capture in a photo, but the cup is quite weighty and feels really well made. I wouldn’t have expected anything less after receiving RY’s ceramic incense holder, which was just as solid and polished. It also gets bonus points for being dishwasher-safe. I can’t wait to bring this to my local coffee shop—it’s a serious upgrade from my current plastic one.
Pukka Herbs Night Time Berry Tea - Retail Value AU$8.50 ($5.52 USD)
Next is this box of teas from Pukka Herbs. Night Time Berry is one of three blends subscribers might receive—along with Relax (with chamomile and oat flowers) or Feel New (with fennel, cardamom, and turmeric). Teas are a perfect fit for a winter box, especially paired with the new ceramic cup. I generally love all of Pukka’s herbal teas and their beautifully designed packaging, and this restorative blend—featuring organic berries, calming chamomile, valerian, and echinacea—makes for a soothing way to unwind.
Evolu Skincare Skin Rescue Recovery Day Cream - Retail Value AU$58.00 ($37.66 USD)
Then we have this day cream from New Zealand-owned brand Evolu featuring a calming blend of pure botanicals to soothe and hydrate sensitive skin. We have targeted plant actives of Kawakawa, a traditional medicinal plant of the Māori, geranium, pure vitamin E and borage and kiwifruit seed oils. It's lightweight, smells great and leaves my skin feeling nice and hydrated.
Love Beauty Foods Ultra Brightening Serum - Retail Value AU$34.95 ($22.69 USD)
This Brightening Face Serum is packed with kakadu plum and pomegranate extract to help even out skin tone and boost brightness. The texture was a bit thicker and stickier than I expected, but it absorbed easily. It’s clear and completely unscented—not usually what I go for in my skincare but my skin did feel noticeably firm and fresh afterward.
Zenj Australia Calm Reed Diffuser - Retail Value AU$38.00 ($24.67 USD)
I’ve been thinking it would be nice to have a signature scent for my home, and while this diffuser—featuring a handcrafted blend of sandalwood and geranium—seemed like a strong contender, it ended up being a little too floral for my taste. That said, the amber bottle with natural fibre reeds is really lovely, so I might give one of Zenj’s other scent options a try.
Retreat Yourself Cloud Nine Scrunchies- Retail Value AU$7.95 ($5.16 USD)
A SCRUNCHIE?! Lol. I remember wholeheartedly agreeing with Carrie in that Sex and the City scene, so I’m not sure when exactly scrunchies came back in style—but here we are. Lately, I find myself reaching for one way more than my more “subtle” hair ties. These silky satin ones are a real treat. The smooth material is designed to reduce frizz, prevent breakage, and avoid creases. I have a feeling they’re about to become my new favorites.
Kind Bod Dreamland Essential Oil Roller - Retail Value AU$39.00 ($25.32 USD)
With my raging RBP (revenge bedtime procrastination, for those who don’t know), I need all the help I can get when it comes to falling asleep. This roller—filled with pure blue tansy, frankincense, ylang ylang, and lavender essential oils—has become part of a calming nightly ritual. I roll it onto my wrists, temples, and neck, and the scent instantly helps me wind down. Since using it, I’ve found myself more inclined to put down my phone and actually drift off into a deeper sleep.
Bounce Foods Choc Brownie Protein Ball - Retail Value AU$4.30 ($2.79 USD)
This choc protein ball features 9.9g of plant-based protein and 3.8g of fiber. I’m no expert, but that seems like a lot of protein for such a little bite. The chocolate coating and peanut butter center are pleasantly chewy—not too chalky, which is always a win. I’m not rushing out to buy a whole box, but I’d definitely have one again if it landed in front of me.
Blake & Arloe Sleep Bath Soak - Retail Value AU$18.00 ($11.69 USD)
I’m not really a bath person, but maybe I should start taking more soaks, especially with this handcrafted blend that includes magnesium salts, Himalayan pink salt, lavender, dehydrated citrus, Himalayan salt rocks and a sleep essential oil blend. The scent alone—lavender with a hint of citrus—is super calming, and the mix of salts feels like it really helps my muscles relax.
Stray Willow Pink Vitamin C Facial Mask - Retail Value AU$12.95 ($8.41 USD)
Welp, I did not read the directions that said to add just a few drops of water—I dumped the powder in a bowl and stuck it under the faucet. So, yeah… the mask turned out very runny. That said, it still seemed to work really well! I used it with my husband (who’s definitely not a mask guy), and he kept commenting on how soft his skin felt—he’s already planning to mask again with me. The pink color was fun, and the mask itself felt super soothing and fruity.
Empire Australia Aromapure Pink Grapefruit & Geranium Cuticle Cream- Retail Value AU$9.95 ($6.46 USD)
Ending strong with a cuticle cream I desperately need for my winter-chapped skin. This pink grapefruit and geranium-scented cream is a dream to use—lightweight, refreshing, and surprisingly effective at softening dry cuticles and hydrating the skin around my nails. I keep it on my bedside table and am trying to make a habit of using it as often as I can.

Verdict
This was another well-rounded curation from Retreat Yourself that delivered on its promise of mindful self-care. It’s hard to pick favorites, but I’m getting a lot of use out of the scrunchies and cuticle cream—and the serum is really growing on me. I especially appreciated how many of the products encouraged slowing down and winding up for the night—perfect for winter hibernation mode.
