Enchanted Crystal is a monthly subscription for crystals, hand-picked and uniquely curated to offer a truly enchanted crystal experience.

My Subscription Addiction received this box free for review. (Check out the editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review for the $16.00 Crystal of the Month subscription.

First Impressions

How cute is the crystal-covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation!

The crystal was carefully packaged: nestled in packing paper and enclosed in bubble wrap. It’s not surprising then, that it arrived in perfect condition.

Enchanted Crystal includes two inserts in their monthly subscription box. The first uses several QR codes to link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library and one to the current month’s newsletter.

In the December blog post, Enchanted Crystal shares their love that this time of year brings people together. They also add, “This month's crystal selections have been intentionally chosen to bring warmth and joyful energy to all of your homes and spaces.” I think that’s fantastic!

The second insert details December’s star crystal: Lemurian Quartz. The inserts are fabulous because they give the history of the stone as well as the metaphysical properties. If you lose your insert or you’d like to read it online, the same information can be found in their Crystal Library.

The Crystals

Dragon Bloodstone & Icelandic Spar (Bonus Crystals)

Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones. I look at these extras as an appetizer; a little taste to get you hungry for more! The bonus crystals I received this month were a handful of small pieces of Iceland spar and three pieces of dragon bloodstone.

According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, Icelandic spar “...is formed through a process called sedimentation, where calcium-rich waters deposit calcite crystals over time….Icelandic spar is transparent and colorless, allowing light to pass through it creating a double refraction effect.” What that means is that if your piece of Icelandic spar is clear enough, you might be able to see the effect by looking through it onto another object. This made it very difficult to photograph, but it’s an interesting stone to look at.

“Metaphysically, Icelandic spar is associated with clarity and insight, helping to clear mental fog and enhance focus. The double refraction effect is said to symbolize the ability to see different perspectives and find balance in life. Icelandic spar is also considered a spiritual amplifier, enhancing one's connection to higher consciousness and aiding in meditation and spiritual practices.”

The three pieces of dragon bloodstone that I received are a shiny deep green to black color with beautiful speckles of red and some lighter shades. Unfortunately, Enchanted Crystal’s Library doesn’t have a listing for dragon bloodstone (or bloodstone in general) but a web search turned up plenty of interesting information.

Crystal Viden, a website focused on the meaning of crystals and stones, says, “According to legend, this stone is the remnants of long-extinct dragons. The green sections are said to represent the creature’s skin. Meanwhile, the red is its blood. Dragons symbolize strength and vitality, which lends credence to the stone’s healing powers.” They add that it was a popular gift from wives to their soldier husbands, believing that it would prevent the soldier from spilling their blood in battle. Fascinating!

A great start. Now, on to the main event!

Lemurian Quartz

This month’s featured stone is Lemurian quartz and it’s unforgettable. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “Lemurian quartz is a type of quartz crystal known for its unique appearance and metaphysical properties. It is believed to have originated in ancient Lemuria, a mythical lost civilization. Lemurian quartz is characterized by its distinct horizontal striations or "barcode" patterns on one or more sides of the crystal.

The formation of Lemurian quartz is associated with a process called "seeding." According to metaphysical beliefs, ancient Lemurian beings encoded knowledge and wisdom into the crystals using these striations. It is said that they planted the crystals in various locations around the world for future generations to discover and access this ancient information.”

How fascinating is the story behind this crystal? And it's not just an interesting tale, the Lemurian quartz crystal itself is utterly gorgeous. But beyond its beauty, there is something more that I can’t quite explain. Just holding it, it feels powerful and moving. The first time I held it, I didn’t really want to put it down.

Unsurprisingly, Enchanted Crystal adds that, “Metaphysically, Lemurian quartz is highly regarded for its spiritual properties. It is believed to hold the energy of divine love, unity, and higher consciousness….The striations on the Lemurian crystals are said to serve as access points to ancient wisdom, making them valuable tools for meditation, energy healing, and spiritual growth.”

This is one crystal that I’ll be keeping close to me!

The Verdict

December’s box was really interesting. Two of the three crystals were new to me. And I’m really excited to add all of these beauties to my collection.

The bonus crystals were fun even though I received Icelandic spar in a couple previous boxes. It’s beautiful and the small pieces make it great for decorating. I’m giving my stash of it to my mom to enliven her fairy garden! I loved the dragon bloodstone because of the rich colors, smooth feel and the interesting legends associated with it.

But the crown jewel of the box, the Lemurian quartz, was striking! I absolutely didn’t want to set it down! I wish I was a better photographer so that I could better show its unusual beauty. (I tried several different backgrounds, hoping to bring out its unique features.) If you love crystals, you’re going to need a piece of this in your collection!

If you are interested in crystals, the monthly box is a great place to start your collection. As for the value, considering the fact that shipping is included in the $16 cost, I feel that the subscription price is a very good deal.

I’m always excited to see what this box will contain and what beauty and knowledge lie within it!
