First Impressions

This month included an activity sheet and a welcome sheet introducing this month's contents. This month's activity is "Gratitude for your community." Little Feminist had three little cards you could cut out so your little one could hand deliver them to a few community members to show their appreciation.

What's Inside This Box

Up Up Up Down by Kimberly Gee – Retail Value $7.99

Toddlers are very, very busy people. They are constantly on the move, and the dad character in this book is just barely keeping up with his little one (so relatable). My daughter Win just turned one, and one of her favorite things to do is to parrot every last word I say; this repetitive book is the perfect practice for her while looking at the cute illustrations. I really love that this book shows the dad being a caretaker, too!

Baby's First Words by Christane Engel – Retail Value $7.99

Books like this are invaluable for babies building their vocabularies. This book maps out a father's day with his child, listing tons of words, phrases, and actions taking place throughout. It covers everything from emotions and animals, to transportation and clothing; making sure to address many situations and topics that a baby can encounter throughout the day.

Discussion Questions

Little Feminist Book Club includes discussion questions for each book every month. You receive two cards that follow the book's themes, and provide questions to discuss with your little reader about their reading experience and other topics to consider. This month's topics are opposites and naming. Each card asks questions to help continue our discussions about each book. These questions are age-appropriate and help to get your kids engaged.

The Verdict

Little Feminist Book Club always provides us with books that help us slow down and appreciate all of our babies' new phases and processes. I love the simplicity in this month's selections; it is fun to see how Win reacts to each word and page. I can't get enough of her inquisitive face when she mimics the words I say as I point to the pictures on the pages.

After shipping, this subscription adds up to $26.90 a month; if you don't mind paying the price for excellent curation and content, then this subscription may be worth your investment. The subscription holds a value that doesn't always monetarily meet its cost, but I appreciate the service.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.
