First Impressions

beige cardboard box

My excitement wavered initially—the box's presentation was unexpectedly bare, lacking any brand identity or information on its contents.

But, not to fret, the inside goodies saved the day!

What’s Inside:

Petitfee Dry Essence Hand Pack and Foot Pack ($4.10/each)

In Korea, these aren’t just masks; they’re essential rituals, and they didn’t disappoint. The sensation of enriched essence soaking into my skin was sublime. You basically place them over your hands and feet and wait for 10-15 minutes. The result? An almost ethereal softness. These will literally give you baby skin in a few minutes.

Farmstay Escargot Noblesse Intensive Cream 50g ($19.99)

Not surprisingly, this box included a snail mucin cream. But this one was different from what I was expecting. Its texture was a dream, blending seamlessly and absorbing with ease, leaving a supple finish that’s rich yet non-greasy. This cream is a testament to how luxury can come in simple packages — or, in this case, a jar.

Some By Mi Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Mask 100g ($17.95)

Honey in skincare is my Achilles' heel, and this mask was a sweet surprise. As someone who struggles with acne, honey masks are a great way to fight infection and calm my skin after facials and extractions. It has five different honey varieties and potent chamomile and rose leaf extracts to fully calm and nourish the skin.

The only downside is that the texture is runnier, which can make things a tad messy! But the glow post-application was undeniably worth the careful handling.

Jumiso Deluxe All Day Vitamin Brightening & Balancing Facial Serum 5ml ($4.86)

Sampling this bestseller was a delight. It's a bottled morning routine with niacinamide, vitamin tea extract, and centella-asiatica. It is a must-have for the fall season when our skin starts to look dull. The texture is sublime, non-greasy, and absorbs almost instantly on the skin. Every application felt like a concentrated burst of brightness for my skin, a perfect primer for the day ahead.

BLab Matcha Hydrating Real Sun Screen 50ml ($9.20)

Here in Florida, sunscreen is non-negotiable. And this sunscreen has made repeated appearances in my routine already. The matcha-infused formula is an essence and shield in one, cooling and protective, leaving no white cast behind. Its irritation-free formula is a rare find in the SPF50 category and a must in any skincare lineup.

Mise En Scene Aging Care Power Berry Treatment 330ml ($13)

I don’t have much experience with Korean hair care products, so this was a fun addition to my repertoire. It’s an excellent hair treatment to include in your everything shower. The scent is invigorating, and it genuinely breathed life into my hair. I can’t wait to see what this mask will do for my hair long-term.

Frudia My Orchard Quince Hand Cream 30g ($4.17)

As a writer, hand creams are my constant companions, and this one stands out. With shea butter and honey extract, it's a mini escape in a tube. And I love the size: perfect for keeping around the desk or my purse when I skip the office for remote work instead.

Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $44.99

Takeaways

Despite the initial presentation shortfall, the BomiBox has left a lasting impression. A more informative packaging approach in the future could elevate the experience. But make no mistake, the essence of this box – its curated selection of Korean skincare – leaves a lasting, positive impression that has me looking forward to what's next.

Aww man, I hope this doesn’t mean Jessica Hapak is gone from MSA. Why would a reviewer complain about products being shipped in a plain cardboard box?

I love the Frudia hand creams. They’re so soft, the hydration lasts, and they’re affordable.
