First Impressions

Here is our helpful info card with details about all of the items inside.

Now, on to the items!

Treslúce Beauty Midnight Deseos Shadow Palette - Retail Value $35

This is my 3rd palette from Treslúce and as far as I am concerned, keep 'em coming! The color stories always feel inspired and the formulas are divine. The mattes and shimmers are always smooth and very pigmented, applying beautifully with a brush but even better with fingers. This assortment includes some chunkier glitters that I was worried might be a little problematic but they spread over the skin like velvet and create a foiled finish that is pretty amazing. This palette is "midnight wishes" themed, and is absolutely perfect for ringing in the New Year with wishes of your own.

Grown Alchemist Anti-Pollution Primer, 50 mL - Retail Value $42

I don't think I have ever tried a Grown Alchemist makeup product. Generally, I receive skin care or body treatments from this brand. Unsurprisingly, this makeup primer feels a lot more like a primer+skincare hybrid. It has a soft almost silicone-like finish but feels more natural and lighter than other similar primers. This is likely due to it actually being silicone-free and filled with goodies like peptides and botanical extracts. This is a lovely primer option for anyone looking to give their makeup staying power, but who doesn't like some of the icky ingredients inside some more popular primer favorites.

Complex Culture Easy Eyes Brush Trio - Retail Value $40

Complex Culture is an Ipsy brand that holds a close spot to my product-loving heart. Their tools and products are much more high-quality than you would expect and the materials used are always thoughtful. For example, the handles on these three brushes are all biodegradable and the bristles are this grippy mix of straight and wavy textures that work with powder formulas so well. These brushes are also easy on the eyes!

MAKE BEAUTY Serum Balm in 'Pink Cerise', 4.3 g – Retail Value $26

I received this same balm in my recent Fall 2022 BoxyLuxe delivery. Here were my thoughts:

I love effortless lip products that just add a hint of color while making my lips feel soft and plump! This formula has a cheery sheer cherry pink shade and contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid, avocado oil, and botanical antioxidants. I am a big fan of the chubby tube and oversized applicator. Application is a breeze and the serum balm feels thicker than expected but incredible on. I want this in every color.

My feelings remain the same. I am obsessed with this stuff and very pleased to have another tube.

Ciaté London Watermelon Burst Setting Spray, 75 mL - Retail Value $22

Full disclaimer: I don't love this brand. I have tried, swear. But the fragrances and formulas just don't do it for me. Ironically, I did enjoy the fresh watermelon scent of this setting spray, but with the number 2 ingredient being alcohol? Nope.

Beauty for Certain Perfect Collab Liner Duo - Retail Value $32

Can you believe neither of these liners is black? I am so excited! This pretty pair arrives in metallic bronze and beautifully chic navy. The bronze was a little sheerer than the navy but twinkled beautifully. The navy was chic and very pretty! Both were soft and buttery and lent themselves more to smudging than a sharp line. If this is an indication of more colorful eyeliners in the future, I am in full support.

Verdict

This month's BoxyCharm Premium has an overall value of $197, which was great but felt a little lighter than usual. The products were a fun exploration across skincare and makeup! The highs were the shadow palette, lip treatment, brushes, primer, and liner. I was less enthused about the setting spray but, hey, can't win 'em all. I can comfortably say that I enjoyed this box very much, and thing the last Premium curation of 2022 was a good one.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Nothing exciting here for 40 bucks. The palette is the best thing and it’s just ok. The rest of the products are duds. This box doesn’t seem premium to me..
