Petit Vour is a monthly vegan beauty subscription box. It’s a great box if you’re looking to try out new vegan and/or natural beauty products.

There are two subscription options to choose from. The base Petit Vour box is $18.00 per month and the Petit Vour Plus box is $25.00 per month.

This is a review of the $18.00 per month box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

When you open the box, the first thing you find is the information sheet, which lists the products included, their values, and a quick blurb about what they do. After that, you can always expect to find four products safely nestled inside the box waiting for you to enjoy.

Each month comes with an info sheet, and the other side of the info sheet always features a new art print.

The Breakdown - What's Inside My September 2022 Petit Vour Box

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular 2-in-1 Cleanser, 60 mL - Estimated Value $15.11 (buy the 4.5 oz version for $34)

Juice Beauty can make a good cleanser, but this one wasn't a good fit for me. This is made with algae, grapeseed oil, aloe, lemon, and apple juice- it's ingredients list reminds me a little of a skincare label but also a little of a salad dressing. While I love the smell of citrus, my skin isn't the biggest fan of it. This cleanser left my skin feeling a little tight, and I think it's better suited for those who have skin that is a little more oily than mine.

Neal's Yard Rejuvenating Frankincense Hydrating Cream, 0.53 oz - Retail Value $27

I applied this cream to my face as one typically does with moisturizers, and I had immediate regrets. The smell of this is just...honestly it's unpleasant. I don't know if that's the pungency of regular Frankincense or if I got a bad sample, but this did not smell good on my face and the smell lingered. Any skincare benefits from the 3-peptide complex, macadamia seed oil, or cocoa seed butter couldn't overcome how off-putting the smell was—I will not be using this sample again.

Yuni My Om World Aromatherapy Mist, 30 mL - Retail Value $7

I've tried products from Yuni before so I had high hopes for this aromatherapy mist, and I was not disappointed (I wish we got a bigger bottle!). It's made with essential oils to help you relax, reset, and refresh wherever you are in just a few spritzes (it's skin safe, so you can spray it on like a body mist rather than only spraying it on things like linens). The scent blend is a mix of geranium, bergamot, neroli, and sage and smells heavenly, and this also has organic kukui seed oil and fair trade green tea extract in the formula.

Mineral Fusion Eyeshadow Trio in Stunning, 0.10 oz - Retail Value $28.99

This eyeshadow trio is beautiful. I love shimmer eyeshadows as a general rule, and I am always drawn to golden neutral hues because they make my blue eyes pop. The texture of these shadows was great- creamy, buttery, super smooth on my skin with lots of pigment. The price feels a little high for what I would realistically pay for an eyeshadow trio like this, but I love receiving it in this box.

Here are the swatches.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $18

Cost Breakdown:

  • Juice Beauty: $15.11 → $3.48
  • Neal's Yard: $27 → $6.22
  • Yuni: $7 → $1.61
  • Andalou Naturals: $28.99 → $6.69

Everything in the box adds up to $78.10, which is fantastic for an $18 box that sends exclusively vegan beauty products. Alternatively, each of the 4 items has an average cost of $4.50.

Key Takeaways

This month's box from Petit Vour was a bit of a mixed bag. I really didn't like the Neal's Yard moisturizer, and the Juice Beauty cleanser wasn't a good fit, but I really loved both the Yuni aromatherapy spray and Mineral Fusion eyeshadow trio. I do think what I like in the box outweighs what I don't, so I am still happy with my box this month. Petit Vour does a good job of sending out well-rounded boxes with nice values for under $20, and I appreciate the effort they put in each month (it never feels like filler products have been put in my box the way it can with other subscriptions). If you try to focus on vegan beauty products (or have a friend who does), this is definitely a box you want to check out.
