The Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly beauty sample subscription box from Walmart. When you sign up you will answer a series of questions about your skin tone, skin concerns, hair type, and more. The answers are used to provide a more personalized experience so that they can tailor your box to you. For $6.98 + free shipping, you receive beauty samples from brands carried by Walmart.
To change it up a bit, Walmart is debuting a SpaceNK Upgrade Edition to their regular Beauty Box subscription. This Limited-Edition box includes 7 products from prestige brands such as Patchology, Babe Lash, and By Terry, along with an exclusive Makeup Bag. This season you can choose to start your subscription with the regular box for $6.98, or upgrade to the SpaceNK box (which is valued at over $90) for $19.98. Please note that your future boxes will be at the regular subscription price point of $6.98.

Back in March, I read an article that Walmart was going to be teaming up with Space NK to launch prestige beauty brands and I was interested to see how this was all going to roll out. I haven't heard much about it recently, but when I was snooping around on the Walmart website, I noticed some advertising, and was excited when I discovered some of the brands this was to include! Furthermore, when I hopped onto the Walmart Beauty Box link, I noticed a link at the top left for a BeautySpaceNK Upgrade Edition that I just had to check out. Arriving in the same box our regular subscription is shipped in, I noticed it seemed a bit heavier, and I couldn't wait to open it! Read below to see what I received.
Like the regular subscription, we were greeted with a pamphlet describing all of the included items in this special edition box. Not only do we receive all the details about every item, but also listed are full size prices and a QR code for a survey.
Babe Lash Essential Serum - 1 mL Container - Retail Value $37.00
So, the first item in this box itself costs almost double the price of this box. I am definitely intrigued so far! Anyways, I have pretty full lashes, but a girl is never satisfied so I was excited to give this serum a whirl. Easily applied, this formula doesn't burn or feel uncomfortable after application. It includes ingredients such as biotin and amino acids, that say they give you longer-looking lashes with consistent nightly applications. Data on the box includes results after 6 weeks, so I will have to wait a little while to see if I can actually tell any difference. Any nourishment I am here for, and if I see even a little improvement in my lashes, I will consider that a win. Has anyone tried this for 6 weeks and noticed a change?
By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder - Estimated Value $19 - Buy a 10g container for $54.00
Typically, I don't use a lot of setting powder, but my skin has been extra oily lately with the increased humidity, so I was in need of some control. After applying my regular makeup and blush, I used a large fluffy brush to apply this Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder right over my makeup. Mattifying my foundation, this really worked wonders to blur my pores and keep the oil away. No more shiny photos, this white dust blended in perfectly with my makeup and I truly saw a difference! If only it weren't quite so expensive...
Eyeko Sport Waterproof Mascara - 2mL - Estimated Value $5
Back when I was an Ipsy subscriber, I received a boat load of Eyeko eyeliners, and I (unlike a lot of people), loved every last one. Though I have experience with just about every version of black eyeliner Eyeko makes, I have never tried their mascara, so I was interested to see how it would compare with my current brand. Noting this is a sport/waterproof version, I applied it before I spent a full day out in the sun at a county fair. It applied nicely, giving me close to the volume my traditional brand gives. Even through sun and sweat, my mascara stayed put all day. By the time I made it home for the evening, it was 15 hours later, and the mascara didn't even want to come off with my makeup remover. Talk about a job well done! I definitely will be applying this on the days I play volleyball!
Philip B Peppermint Avocado Shampoo, 2 oz - Retail Value - $15
Perfectly pepperminty, this avocado and peppermint shampoo is perfect for travel. Surprising to my scalp, the tingly sensation it delivered was awakening and fun. While I enjoyed the shampoo, I wish they offered a conditioner to pair along with it. What did you think of this green gel shampoo?
Grow Gorgeous Volume Leave-in Serum - Estimated Value $9 - Buy a 5 oz bottle for $20.00
My thin hair needs all the volume it can get, so when I receive a volume increasing hair care product in a beauty box, I am pumped. Usually, serums tend to weigh my hair down, but this air-light version gives my hair exactly what it needs to be able to be teased up. Not leaving my hair greasy or dirty looking, I applied a small amount to my ends and an even smaller amount around my part. Paired with my volume hairspray, this serum did help to achieve the look I was going for, all while giving my hair a clean, fresh scent I couldn't stop sniffing.
Patchology Get Dewy With It Sheet Mask - Retail Value $5
I love face masks, and after a weekend in a chlorine-filled pool, my face needed all of the hydration it could get. Containing "mega-moisture", I applied this Patchology mask for the suggested 10 minutes and rested after a fun-filled weekend. I could definitely detect some rose scent in this mask and found it refreshing and lovely. After peeling it off, I rubbed in the excess serum and noticed it was quite sticky. Leaving a hydrated film on my skin, this did pack in a lot of moisture, which was exactly what I was looking for, but left me realizing this is one mask that should be applied before bed only. Overall, I found this mask to be a winner, and plan on getting a few more to have on hand in times of a dry face crisis.
SpaceNK Private Label, Single Hand Wash - Estimated Value - $0.27 Buy an 11.8oz container for $9.00
Honestly, I don't think I've ever received a hand wash sample before. Body wash, yes, but not hand soap. Anyways, I washed my hands with this Jasmine & Rose soap and was surprised at the lack of scent. While washing, I noticed a decent lather, and caught a few notes of musk and rose hip, but it didn't really linger. Personally, I like a soap a little stronger in the fragrance department, especially on days we go fishing! What did you think of this hand wash?
Exclusive Neoprene BeautySpaceNK Makeup Bag (available only in this box) Estimated Value $7
The last item we received in this box was this limited-edition neoprene cosmetic bag. Honestly, I have quite a few cosmetic bags in fun prints and patterns. I enjoy bright and cheery bags that don't blend in and can't easily be lost. This black bag is quite the opposite. Simplistic in shape and design, this bag does have a handle and zipper, and can stretch. Fitting all of this month's goodies inside, it is of good size, and dries fast. Surprisingly, my husband nabbed up this bag for his travel supplies, and just laid it upside down to hide the "BeautySpaceNK" logo. Tricky, tricky.
Changing up the pace a bit, I have to say I was very impressed with this limited-edition BeautySpaceNK box. I am all about the deals, and really found that this curation was not only different than the past quarters boxes, but also of much higher quality, and value. For $19.98, I received over $90 in items, none of which I have tried in the past. While I wasn't a huge fan of the hand wash, I loved the By Terry powder, Eyeko mascara, and Patchology mask. Choosing makeup, skin care, and hair care items was a win for me, and I hope to see more boxes like this in the future. Did you get the upgrade? What did you think?
