Cat Lady Box is a monthly subscription box for cat ladies (or anyone who is crazy about cats)! The $34.99 per month Cat Lady Box has 2-3 cat-themed items – wearables, items for the home, books, etc., while the $39.99 per month Crazy Cat Lady Box contains everything from the Cat Lady Box plus a few items just for cats.

This is a review of the Crazy Cat Lady Box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

As soon as the box arrives, you know your cat-loving heart is in for a good time. Everything arrives in a brown cardboard box with a black cat silhouette on it. Once you open it up, you can expect to find anything from cat-themed jewelry, clothes, home decor, and more. If you subscribe to the Crazy Cat Lady box, you'll also get a few treats for your furbaby, too.

Goose was excited to see what he was going to get this month.

This box does come with an info sheet, and each month they feature custom artwork. This month's artist was Lilly from AllCuteStudio.

This month we also received an insert about the extra special annual black cat box that will come in October. I'm excited- I loved last year's black cat box and the sweatshirt that came in it is still one of my favorites. It also will officially mark one year of reviewing CatLadyBox, as the black cat box was the first ever box I reviewed from this brand!

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The September Crazy Cat Lady Box

First, let's meet the cat that will be helping me to review this box. If you've been reading my MSA reviews for a while, you may remember my old cat, Duchess. Duchess is no longer here with me, and after a few months, I felt ready to get another cat companion. Meet Sir Goose! I adopted him when he was one month and twenty-two days old, and he was 2.2 pounds. Now he is a year old and he loves toys—I have yet to find a toy he won't play with.

Goose just recently had his annual visit with the vet, and we found out how much he weighs. Goose weighs thirteen pounds- I knew he was a big boy, but I can't believe I got him when he was 2.2 pounds and now he's 13!

Honestly, we're lucky that we are getting a review turned in this month. He really didn't want to get off of my laptop when I was ready to get to work- even though he's bigger than my computer, he fits, so he sits.

Cat Lady Couture Long Sleeve - Listed Value $22.99

I'll be honest and say I was prepared to not like this shirt. "Cat Lady Couture" isn't really a phrase I would typically say, and the font choice isn't my favorite. All of that changed when I put this long-sleeve on- it is SO comfortable! It's a little heavier than their typical tees, and the length of the sleeves and the torso of the shirt were perfect- I'll be wearing this at home to cuddle with Goose but also out and about as the weather starts to cool down.

Cat Ears Shoulder Bag - Listed Value $24.99

This grey shoulder bag features cat ears at the top, but is otherwise not too outwardly cat-heavy. This is another thing that isn't my style or something I would normally reach for, but I appreciate that it came with a detachable shoulder strap. I may end up using this as a quasi makeup bag to store products in, but it does have a pocket inside that would fit an ID and a credit card if you wanted to take this purse out and about.

Stoneware Cat Car Coaster - Listed Value $8.99

I had to read the name of this coaster a few times before it clicked that it's specifically designed to be placed in the cupholder of your vehicle- I was thinking to myself "wow, that's a small coaster" before I was able to put two and two together (I got there eventually). I love the idea of peering into my cupholder and seeing a cute kitty peeking back at me when this isn't at work absorbing drips and condensation from a cold drink while I drive.

Bonus! Color Changing Tumbler - Listed Value $14.99

This month we also received an item listed as a bonus extra item as a subscriber gift that would be a loved product from a previous box. This tumbler came in the April 2022 box- you can read my thoughts on it here! Since mine is still going strong, I am going to pass this along to a friend, and it's actually perfect because I am putting together a small kitty-themed care package together because Goose doesn't eat treats but her cat will, so I am sending her some products I received. This tumbler fits in perfectly.

Purrfume Catnip Toy - Listed Value $4.99

This little catnap toy in the shape of a perfume bottle is darling- I love the feather accent for the fun flair, and Goose loves it because he likes anything with feathers.

There are two categories of toys with him- ones he likes to chew and bite and ones he likes to rub his head against and sniff. This was a rubbing and sniff toy all the way.

Summer Surprise Toy - Listed Value $4.99

Our last toy is one of a various assortment, and we got a catnip-filled fish. One thing I really like is that it's actually refillable- I have plenty of catnip on hand to do just that with, and I think this may be my first refillable toy from this box.

This was another sniff and rub toy as well for Sir Goose.

Key Takeaways

Oh, I love my Cat Lady Box Subscription. This month didn't spark quite as much joy as other months have before, but I still found it to be delightful. My favorite item was definitely the long-sleeve shirt, which was not what I was expecting when I first opened the box. I love that I get to share this box with Goose and that the box does a good job of sending items that are both creative and practical. While you should take the listed values with a grain of salt, I do feel like there was more than $39.99 of value in this box. If you have cats and/or like cat-themed things, I recommend checking this subscription box out. If you're looking for fun cat-themed items you can enjoy around your home and share with your feline friend, you're going to see a lot more value in this box than someone who is going strictly off of listed values (or who desires brand name products in a box).

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I thought the font on the shirt was supposed to represent cat hair, as in couture for cat lovers means being covered in cat hair. Clever!

This is my longest running subscription (I’ve been subscribed since they started) and this box was the worst one I’ve ever received. I dislike the shirt, the purse is nothing I’d actually use for anything and o got dryer balls as the repeat item. I don’t need more dryer balls. The toys are always a hit at my house but that’s way too much $$ for two cat toys. 🙁
Let’s hope the October box is spectacular cause I just might end up cancelling if it’s not.
