INK+ALLOY is a female-founded accessory brand with a mission to empower women through every day, modern pieces that make a bold statement. Their accessories are all designed in Atlanta, and made both in Atlanta and by artisans in India. Their seed bead earrings are hand-woven and their Insider club sends one surprise pair of earrings per month for $20/month. That's 20-30% savings + free shipping!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Opening The Box

The earrings of the month arrive in this small white box, simply packaged with an info card on top and your earrings tucked underneath. I always appreciate minimalist packaging both for environmental reasons and because it's less to break down while I wait for recycling day!

Here's What's Inside

Info Card

The info card shows the five possible colorways of this month's beaded earring style. Subscribers to this box don't indicate preferences at any point; we are sent a pair at random. The cute little paragraphing introducing these beauties indicates that they're made of glass beads.

The flip side tells that INK+ALLOY earrings are woven by artisan women. Their website further explains that they maintain ethical working conditions and fair wages for the women they employ. You can read more about that here! They also provide a 15% discount code should subscribers want to make an additional purchase outside the subscription.

Pink Teal Small Diamond Earrings — Retail Value $33

June's featured earrings are the small diamond earrings. I received the Pink Teal Small Diamond Earrings, but you can see the other colors on offer here. My first impression? A huge smile, because I just love all beaded earrings and because I really like how INK+ALLOY uses modern color combos and shapes to freshen up a familiar style of jewelry. As I sat and took in all five colorways on offer I conceded that this wouldn't have been my choice of color—the mint and rose remind me of the "cotton candy" color combo that I overdid with eyeshadow in middle school (literally with pink on one eye and baby blue on the other, big cringe) and haven't been able to see the same ever since. But ultimately the deeper turquoise, coral, and aubergine plus the neutral beige beads in there mellow it out and make it all okay!

And honestly, when they're on, I think they look nice with my coloring! I am often drawn to richer hues in my clothes and I really don't have any earrings in these colors, so they add variety to my collection. Not to mention, my toddler loves pink and has basically assigned it as my favorite color...turns out that having a color forced on me as my "favorite" truly is warming me up to it! Who knew?

Verdict

This is my second pair of earrings from INK+ALLOY (see my first pair here) and I am really happy with them! They're lightweight, they're quality, they're ethically made, and they're such a fun burst of color. Would I have chosen these exact colors for myself if I were shopping on my own? Likely not, but like many of you, part of what I love about subscription boxes is the element of surprise and being introduced to new styles that get me outside my norms. For $20 per month, I am totally OK with taking my chances.

Value - Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $20 per month + free shipping.

Value Breakdown: The INK+ALLOY Insider subscription costs $20 per month + free shipping. For June I was sent a pair of seed bead earrings with a retail value of $33. That means this month's earrings came at a 39% discount. That's significant! Outside of sale items, the least expensive earrings from INK+ALLOY cost $25, so you know you're always going to save by subscribing.
