First Impressions is a series that introduces and reviews new brands to My Subscription Addiction, drawing from readers’ requests for an insider’s first look. Interested in seeing more reviews from this brand, or have another box in mind that you’d like to see reviewed? Let us know in the comments.

INK+ALLOY is a female-founded accessory brand with a mission to empower women through every day, modern pieces that make a bold statement. Their accessories are all designed in Atlanta, and made both in Atlanta and by artisans in India. Their seed bead earrings are hand-woven and their Insider club sends one surprise pair of earrings per month for $20/month. That's 20-30% savings + free shipping!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Insider Club

Ink+Alloy Insider Club

For $20 per month and free shipping, the Insider subscription hooks you up with one pair of earrings a month. The styles sent will vary in color, shape, and style, but every pair is handmade with seed beads, upcycled brass, and/or luxe glass beads. The image above shows examples of styles you might receive. A lot of great fringey designs are mixed in with beaded hoops, studs, geometric danglies, and more. Subscribers are generally all sent the same pair each month, but sometimes the INK+ALLOY team selects a style with multiple colorways and you get surprised with one of two or three color combinations.

What I Got

My earrings arrived in a small white box. The packaging is simple and secure. The card topping my earrings gave a preview of the ombre earrings I would find tucked underneath. Out of three colorway options of the Ombre Gold Luxe Stripe Fringe earrings, I received teal mint, and their glisten took my breath away!

Here's a closer peek at the card that was awaiting me when I opened my box. It introduces the month's earrings on one side, and on the other, it gives a code for a 15% discount that subscribers can use on other INK+ALLOY purchases. The code does expire at the end of July, but I would venture that a new one is provided in each month's box.

Here's a closer peek at the Ivory Teal Mint Ombre Gold Luxe Stripe Fringe earrings I received. They are simply beautiful! Below you'll get a better peek at just how beautifully the mix of matte colored beads and shining gold ones work together.

What I Thought

Ivory Teal Mint Ombre Gold Luxe Stripe Fringe Earrings — Retail Value $38

Do you see the sun working its magic on these beauts? If I'd had the choice between the three options randomly selected for subscribers for March (these teal mint ones vs. navy with light blue or terra cotta blush), this color combination is what I would've chosen in a heartbeat. I love it when fate works its ways like that! This series of colors stands out against my darker hair but also offers an earthy softness true to the spirit of a turquoise stone. My wardrobe is filled with a lot of warm tones, and I'm already enjoying the way these watery tones balance out some of my favorite fiery-colored outfits. On top of how great of a fit they are with my wardrobe, they're extremely well made: light and sturdy all the same.

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, but you might receive a different colorway. INK+ALLOY functions on a rolling subscription model, so your order will ship 1-2 business days after you've placed your order and then recur on that same day each month.

Value Breakdown: The INK+ALLOY Insider subscription costs $20 per month + free shipping. This month I was sent a pair of luxe bead earrings that retails at $38. That's a 48% discount. Umm...epic! I adore the earrings I was sent and would've happily paid full price for them, so I'm pretty amped about this deal. I would love to see what this subscription sends in the future and to explore how their designs might ignite my outfit creativity.

Do you think you'll stock up on handmade, beaded earrings with INK+ALLOY'S Insider subscription? Do you want to see us keep reviewing this jewelry club?

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

I LOVE this brand. I found them through socials + felt really drawn to them because they work with artisan women in India + they do a giveback where a portion of sales are donated to help educate young girls in India. So boho + modern!

This box seems like such a great deal! Do you know whether the earrings are made ethically/fair trade?

Hey Kate, thanks for your comment! Ink + Alloy supports their female craftswomen with fair wages and ethical working conditions. There’s more info on their business practices page, here: https://inkalloy.com/pages/business-practices

They also donate a portion of proceeds to the charity Commit 2 Change. More info on that here: https://inkalloy.com/pages/give-back-2

Very pretty however I’d be embarrassed to wear something that so closely mimicks Native American style jewelry that isn’t made by Natives.

Hey, April, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this. I reached out to the brand and they shared that their designs are created in-house with inspiration drawn from trends in home decor, up-and-coming color fads, and the like. As someone who is drawn to what’s generally referred to as “boho” style, cultural appropriation is on my radar and something I’m really sensitive to. Seed beads are used in many cultures, and this brand in particular works with Indian craftswomen, providing them fair wages and ethical working conditions. More on that here: https://inkalloy.com/pages/business-practices

LOVED your review. This really caught my eye because I’m a jewelry maker and love to work with seed beads. I’ve created similar fringe styles and this RV for handcrafted is on point. The sub box price is a super deal.

I thought these were hideous, until I saw them on you. They really fit well with your style, but I think they would be ridiculous on me. You are adorable!

Thank you, Bee! So kind of you!
