Bespoke Post is a monthly membership club that delivers high-quality lifestyle products from up-and-coming brands. It’s voted as one of the best men’s subscription boxes of 2021 by our readers and it’s a great box for women and couples as well.

When you sign up, there’s a quiz to determine your preferences and interests, then you’re matched with a new themed box every month. For $49 per month, each box promises at least $70 in retail value with items ranging from outdoor gear, barware, home, and kitchen goods, clothing, and more.

Unlike most subscription boxes, you get to preview your Bespoke Post box before it ships and you can easily swap for a different box or skip the month for no charge. You only pay for the months that interest you.

This is a review of the "Buttoned" box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Bespoke Post always has a good presentation. Their boxes are instantly recognizable. I like that they have the perfect box or bag for any item you order. The box typically comes with a card to let you know what's inside, as well as a little bit about each item. This time, they just go over how to take care of your new shirt.

Inside the Bespoke Post "Buttoned" Box

Line of Trade The Arrow Shirt (Herringbone Flannel) - Retail Price $75

To be honest, I chose "Buttoned" because I was hoping the shirt would be a nice, but casual alternative to a few weddings I have to attend this year. The jury (read: my wife) is still out on that one, but whether or not I wear it to any weddings, I immediately fell in love with this shirt once I put it on. So it'll get plenty of wear. The Arrow Shirt comes in three versions: brushed, speckled, and herringbone. I went with the latter, and I'm honestly considering trying to get all three. The shirt fits like a dream, looks sharp, and is impeccably soft. I think they are each quietly stylish. They look nice from far away and even nicer close up. The understated designs are certain to impress those who look closely. Each shirt is 100% cotton with resin buttons. Sleeves look great rolled up or buttoned. And, although I haven't worn it so, I suspect the shirt looks as good as a bottom layer as it does being the main attraction. It's versatile, mature, and – did I mention – soft. Bespoke Post calls this a "three season shirt" but I'm going to try to make it a "year rounder." For what it's worth, I'm 5'9" and wearing a medium. Yes, I know I should have ironed it.

Theo & Amelia Hammock Rollerball Scent Trigger - Retail Price $21

I have received many, many, many fragranced items in my two years of reviewing. A lot of them have been great. However, this just may be the best smelling item I have received in a subscription box. The scent is called "Hammock". Ingredients include Jojoba oil, Texas Cedarwood, Orange, Pine and Eucalyptus. The item can be worn as a fragrance or "scent trigger" – a new term for me. The difference, apparently, is where you wear it. For fragrances, these are the typical pulse points where you may apply cologne. For a scent trigger, they suggest the top of your hands or simply smelling it straight from the bottle. However you wear it, this most incredible scent is sure to sooth, calm, and trigger you...in a good way.

Verdict

This month's choice was born of a reality check. I recently tried on my dress clothes for the wedding season and I'm sad to tell you that they didn't fit like they used to. So I thought I'd use this subscription to remedy that, in part. I was looking for a nice shirt and "Buttoned" fit the bill. While the Arrow Shirt may not exactly be wedding attire, I was very, very happy with my choice this month. It fits good, looks great, and feels even better. I only wish I could have tried all three styles. The roller scent was something I didn't know I wanted, but now that I have tried it, I will be sure to use it all the time. The smell is incredible. Hopefully, if I wear it enough, it will trigger others to think of me when they smell it. Overall, another great box from Bespoke Post. They really have an option for whatever you are feeling each month.

Let's Talk About Value

This box clocks in at $91. That is $37 more than the subscription's cost of $54 (including shipping). That is a nice value and higher than I've been seeing that past few months. They could have easily just included the shirt and called it quits. The scent roller was a great inclusion and a great smelling one at that. I'm happy with the value this month and think I may put the money I saved toward another Arrow Shirt.

I can’t imagine wearing that shirt in the summer. It looks like it would be hot. Herringbone pattern seems like a winter item to me. Just me wondering about it. Too bad it doesn’t work for weddings. Happy shopping.
