First Impressions

Each month, Nourish Beauty Box usually arrives with an info card that has a quick overview of the box on one side and more detailed information about the products included on the other. This month I did not receive a card.

Now, on to the items!

NOURISH NATURALS Lip and Cheek Stain in Red Spice, 2 g - Retail Value $22

This lip and cheek stain has been a main staple in this box for quite a while now. We receive a different shade each month, and this time it’s a bold, dark red that works very nicely with my skin tone. Am I the kind of person to wear a dark red on a regular basis? No. But do I like to spice it up every now and then? Absolutely. I’ll be saving this stain for the next time I step out for a red carpet event or launch party. Definitely a perfect addition to a night out with the girls. Plus, I do enjoy how hydrating it is on my lips, and a little goes a long way. As a cheek stain, it doesn’t really work for me and tends to slide right off, but that’s likely due to my skin being more on the oily side. As a lip stain, although it won’t be an everyday wear for me, it’s nice to have in my arsenal. The one downside, for me, is the lack of a built-in applicator since I’m not a huge fan of sticking my fingers into products, lol.

NOURISH NATURALS Safflower Shimmer Luminizing Vegan Lip Gloss in Pagoda, 4 ml - Retail Value $16

Hooray, they brought back the lip gloss! Nourish Beauty Box used to include a lip shimmer a year or so ago (replaced by the lip and cheek stain above), and although this product is slightly different, I’m very happy to have another dedicated lip product from Nourish Naturals again. This gloss is hydrating like a lip balm but works nicely as a tinted liquid lip, and the standard doe foot applicator applies the product smoothly and easily. I love the scent of this lip gloss… To me, it smells exactly like an orange creamsicle (yummy), and I couldn’t be happier to have it. However, I do hope that they swap this lip gloss out for the lip and cheek stain as opposed to including both in the future.

SERAPHINE BOTANICALS Rose + Coconut Water Hydrating Facial Mist, 10 ml - Retail Value $24

I always enjoy a good facial mist, so I was pretty happy with the inclusion of this product. The spray component is nice and fine and did a great job dispensing an even amount of product on my face. For me, the scent was a bit humdrum, but I’m not the biggest fan of rose-scented products anyway. It was quite refreshing to spray onto my face after coming in from some time outdoors. I appreciate the formula of this mist, which includes damask rose hydrosol, coconut water, witch hazel, and one of my favorite ingredients, aloe vera juice. I was surprised to learn that this product also acts as an exfoliator of sorts, thanks to its inclusion of damask rose and grapefruit extracts.

EARTH HARBOR NATURALS Sunstone Hair Revive Elixir, 30 ml - Retail Value $30

I love how lightweight this hair elixir from Earth Harbor Naturals is. It's fabulously refreshing on my scalp. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue. After using, my scalp feels hydrated and revitalized, and not at all irritated. The product delivers moisture to my parched ends, without weighing down my curls or leaving my hair feeling oily. There is a delightful, light, fruity scent to this elixir that I really enjoy. The scent isn’t overbearing and dissipates quickly.

Verdict

This was a very typical Nourish Beauty Box. The curation included the signature Nourish Naturals lip and cheek stain and also brought back the ‘revamped’ classic signature, the Nourish Naturals lip gloss. I enjoyed the shade and scent of each, and although I won’t be using the lip and cheek stain on my cheeks, I’ll definitely get some use out of it when I want a pop of color on my lips. The Seraphine Botanicals facial mist had a delightfully fine mist and is super refreshing, now that the spring days are getting warmer. Lastly, I really enjoy the Earth Harbor Naturals hair elixir. It feels absolutely divine on my scalp, and I find the scent to be very enjoyable. I love how hydrating, lightweight, and fast-absorbing it is. Overall, I’d say this was a solid month. There wasn’t as much diversity in products as I usually enjoy, but the value was definitely there.

Hi Naomi. Great review, thank you. For the lip and cheek stain, since you’re only going to use it on your lips, you should consider using a lip brush. I like the ones that come with a cover, that way it doesn’t make a mess in your makeup bag or purse. This makes it more sanitary because you don’t have to stick your fingers in the product.
