First Impressions

The first thing I noticed was that this month’s Cocotique box is an Urban Hydration takeover box. I know of the brand but haven’t had the opportunity to try very many of their products, so I’m excited to see what they have to offer.

The back of the Cocotique info card describes all the products included in this month’s box. It also provides information on where to purchase the products online and exclusive discount codes where available. This month's theme is "Self Love Always Matters."

Now, on to the items!

URBAN HYDRATION Nourish and Rehydrate Castor Oil and Shea Face Wash, 180 ml - Retail Value $9.99

I really enjoyed how luxurious and creamy this face wash is. It left my skin feeling so soft and rinsed off completely without leaving behind any residue or oils that could clog my pores. It didn’t leave my skin feeling tight or stripped, but healthy and hydrated instead. There is a light natural scent. It’s gentle and effective and perfect for my sensitive skin, and I’m happy to add it to my skincare routine.

URBAN HYDRATION Nourish and Repair Castor Oil and Shea Daily Lotion, 120 ml - Retail Value $9.99

What I really like about this lotion is that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky. It’s hydrating and absorbs fully and fairly quickly into the skin. It’s lightweight and has a natural subtle minty fragrance that dissipates quickly and is non-intrusive. I appreciate that this daily lotion was curated along with the face wash so that I can try the products in unison. Formulated with all-natural ingredients including shea butter, castor seed oil, vitamins A and E, and argan oil, this daily lotion works to even skin tone and moisturize and is great for sensitive and eczema-prone skin.

URBAN HYDRATION Spot and Scar Olive and Rosehip Face Cleansing Oil, 120 ml - Retail Value $14.99

I have stubborn old acne scars, so I’m always on the lookout for products that brighten dark spots and fade scars. I am very excited about this cleansing oil. It’s super lightweight and easy to spread across my face, and it only takes a few drops to break down a full face of makeup or the grease and grime after a long day. The scent is delicious, almost fruity. After cleansing, my skin feels hydrated and buoyant and my complexion visibly brighter. I’m also really impressed that this oil doesn’t leave my oily skin feeling greasy, just hydrated.

URBAN HYDRATION Acne and Inflammation Olive and Tea Tree Face Cleansing Oil, 120 ml - Retail Value $14.99

What I really like about this olive and tea tree cleansing oil is how lightweight and thin the product is. It’s very easy to apply and spread over my face, and a little goes a long way. It broke down the dirt, grease, and makeup from a long day with ease and left my skin feeling soft and hydrated. It didn’t leave behind any residue or oil and didn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. The scent is a light natural smell with an undertone of tea tree oil. I really appreciate that the product is naturally scented, and there are no synthetic fragrances. The tea tree oil in the formula helps disinfect pores, fight acne, and soothe blemishes. It didn’t clog my pores at all and handled a breakout nicely.

URBAN HYDRATION Moisture Boost Kiwi and Pomegranate Micellar Cleansing Water, 500 ml - Retail Value $14.99

I’m super pumped to have this micellar cleansing water. It came in the nick of time too. I was really impressed with how well this product removed my eye and face makeup, even waterproof mascara. It also has a lovely fruity scent and leaves my skin feeling wonderful and rejuvenated. A couple drops on a cotton pad, and my pores feel squeaky clean. On top of the miracle of micellar water, the product has the added benefits of pomegranate and kiwi fruit extracts, vitamins A and E, and castor oil, which work together to detox, repair, soften, and moisturize skin.

Verdict

This month’s Cocotique box featured Urban Hydration and was curated with a wide array of their skincare products. I really like that almost a whole skincare routine was included in this month’s box. The face wash was a luxurious, creamy cleanser that left my skin feeling soft and hydrated, without feeling oily or greasy. Following that up with the daily lotion left my skin feeling smooth and soft. The lotion is incredibly lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. The micellar cleansing water has such a delightful fruity scent and works well to make sure my pores are clean and makes all of my eye makeup easy to remove. Lastly, the pair of face cleansing oils. The oils are light and thin and make it easy to spread a little bit over my entire face. They broke down makeup, dirt, and grime with ease. The olive and rosehip scent was amazing. Overall, I think this was a very solid Cocotique box. Subscribers got to try basically a full skincare routine from Urban Hydration!
