NewBeauty TestTube is a bi-monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Every other month they send you a tube full of deluxe and full-size beauty samples and you also get a digital subscription to NewBeauty Magazine. It’s a little pricier than other beauty subscriptions, but in general, the value is usually great.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

This packaging is so cute! I love the colors and that all of the products fit neatly inside. Not everything fits into the tube this month.

The tube also came with an information card on what the new ring will bring for NewBeauty!

The Products

LivOn Labs Liposomal Vitamin C, 30 packets – Retail Value $36.95

This vitamin C supplement is meant to boost your immune system, support muscle recovery, protect from free radical damage, and support overall skin firmness. This is unlike other supplements because it contains only ingredients necessary for an effective liposomal supplement, is sugar-free, and has real liposomal encapsulation which is scientifically shown to raise Vitamin C 50% more in white blood cells than a powder. They recommend adding this liquid vitamin C to a cold glass of water once or twice every day for best results. Honestly, I am a big texture person, especially when it comes to what I drink. I can't drink Kambucha because it has things floating in it, so this liquid supplement not dissolving really was too much for me. I did try it and was right, this just is not for me. The supplement is pretty slimy and just overall a strange experience. I love the health benefits that this offers, but I just can't get past the texture. What is everyone thinking about this product?

GrandePRIMER Pre-Mascara Lengthener & Thickener – Retail Value $25

This primer is made to coat your lashes before applying mascara. It is waterproof, smudge-proof, and won't irritate your eyes. The applicator is molded and very movable to separate and coat your lashes thoroughly. This formula is peptide-infused and goes on white to help make your lashes fuller and stronger. My eyes are very sensitive, but I am happy to report that this primer did not irritate them. I did really want to love this because I love the idea of having amazing full lashes without having to do a ton of extra work to them. This just really fell flat for me. I found that it made my mascara clump more and overall I didn't notice a big difference. I used it with two different mascaras and both clumped more than they ever do and it almost made application a bit more difficult because my lashes didn't seem to separate.

Miss Spa Pore Sure Double Detox Peel-Off Mask, 2 fl oz. – Retail Value $15

This peel-off mask is made with volcanic ash, so cool! It works to purify deep into your pores by removing excess oil and dirt. It also contains orange oil to help collagen production. I haven't found a peel-off mask that has worked for my skin yet. I am always a bit nervous to try masks like this because they tend to be very harsh on my skin. Unfortunately, this mask did not blow me away. It was very harsh and drying to my already dry skin, and the mask itself never got to the point where I could peel it off. I was able to peel a small area on my chin, but the rest of the mask would not peel so I had to rinse it all off. I find this with most peel-off masks though that I have tried so maybe I'm doing something wrong? I think a mask like this would be great for someone with oily skin, but for me, this just did not work.

NEOSTRATA Comprehensive Retinol Eye Cream, 0.5 fl oz. – Retail Value $54

I say this a lot, but my eyes are very sensitive, which means I have to be very careful when it comes to eye creams. After looking over the ingredients, I decided not to risk using this, but my Mom was very intrigued when she looked over this product. I decided to pass this along to my very giddy Mom and she is so far loving this product! This cream is made with pure retinol to tone and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. It is also made with a dual-peptide blend that works to lighten dark circles and firm you're under-eye area. This is definitely a product you need to use every night for a few weeks before seeing results, but the reviews are showing that it really does work! I'm very excited to hear more from my Mom on how this product is working for her.

onekind Dream Cream Nighttime Moisturizer, 1.7 fl oz – Retail Value $38

This might be my new favorite moisturizer. My skin loves rosehip so I knew this was going to be great, but I didn't realize just how amazing it would be for my thirsty skin! This cream is to be used at night for intense and fast-absorbing hydration. It goes on smoothly and isn't heavy or greasy so I get up feeling fresh and hydrated! This unique cream is made with squalane that locks in long-lasting hydration, rosehip oil to brighten skin and fight signs of aging, chamomile, aloe vera, and barley seed soothe irritation from environmental stressors. I am so happy that this is a full-size product because it is going to get my dry skin through the winter!

DOLL 10 Lip Genius Self-Sharpening Lip Liner – Retail Value $19

I fell deeply in love with lip liners about a year ago and that love is still going strong. I think I was turned away from liners because it reminded me of my Mom in the 90s, but then I realized how a liner is your lipstick's best friend. I was so excited to see this beautiful berry liner that is going to match with so many of my lipstick shades. This liner is made in small batches with special encapsulated pigments that allow it to go on smoothly and last all day. This is going to be my new go-to liner!

Manna Kadar Lip Balance Color Chemistry Lip Balm – Retail Value $19

This lip balm is so cool because it is pH balanced and changes lips to a pink hue based on your natural lip. It is a super moisturizing and no-transfer formula that will last you throughout the day. While I don't typically love a pink balm like this, I can't deny that it was so hydrating! It made my lips feel so smooth and that lasted through most of my afternoon. The shade wasn't too pink on me so I have been using it a lot in the mornings or over a darker lipstick shade for that big boost of hydration and smoothness.

T.TAIO ESPONJABON Mother Of Pearl, Lightning  Effect – Retail Value $4.99

This is a 2-in-1 soap that is made with a mother of pearl to brighten, even, and soften skin. You can use this sponge daily to clean and exfoliate your skin. The sponge does have a light exfoliating side to it that isn't too harsh on the skin. It gives you just enough of a scrub that feels really nice and left my skin feeling so soft. The soap itself wasn't drying and left me feeling very clean. I can't say that this product was overly exciting, but I did enjoy the exfoliation that it gave me.

Verdict

This NewBeauty TestTube has a $211.94 value, wow! This month's box was a bit of a mix of hits and misses. I am so happy that I found the most amazing nighttime moisturizer that has been showing my skin so much love! It provides deep hydration overnight that leaves me with a smooth healthy glow in the am. The lip liner and balm went straight into my lip collection and have quickly become items that I turn to in the morning. The liner is the perfect shade for me and is matching so many of my lipsticks. The balm is working to provide my dry winter lips with that hydration that I really need. It also works great over a darker lipstick shade which I really appreciate. The retinol eye cream was a bit too intense for my sensitive eyes, but I was so happy to pass it along to my Mom. She is having a lot of luck with it so far and can't wait to see how it continues to work for her. The biggest misses for me this month were the peel-off mask and the sponge which felt a bit out of place with the other items. Overall though, I continue to be impressed with the value that this box brings. I mean, there are so many full-size items and such a high retail value that makes this box totally worth it in my opinion! I love that there is so much variety in the product selection which makes unboxing so interesting. While everything wasn't a winner for me this month, I loved testing and learning more about each brand and product!

I got an email Saturday saying my Jan/Feb tube was confirmed, not shipped mind you. They said I would get another email when shipped.

What’s going on ?

I ended my year sub just in time, the last 2 tubes have been awful. The One Kind moisturizer is the only good product here. The others just belong maybe in an ipsy or allure, or nowhere lol.

Same here. I put in another contact us ticket but received no response of course. I don’t know why they can’t at least send an email to the subscribers whose tubes haven’t shipped yet to say something like ‘sorry about the delay, we expect to start shipping xxx date’.

I was traumatized pulling that mask off, lol. It literally felt like dried lava on my face and I felt every little hair on my face being pulled out!!!

Omg, I’ve been there! I honestly have had too many experiences like this with pull-off masks I just have no desire to try them now!

RE: your experience with peel-off masks. They aren’t my favorite either, and I have received a couple recently, including this one of course, and I am going to get another one in my IPSY plus bag. Then of all things I saw a YouTube video yesterday with a doctor saying that you should avoid peel-off masks (and pore strips). So since you don’t like them in the first place, maybe just avoid them. 🙂

Absolutely not a product that is great for sensitive skin. My Mom owns a spa and they are always telling me not to mess with these types of masks.

I love the liposomal supplements. You definitely don’t want to take them on their own – put them in water and take them like a shot. I am always thankful for retinol and this is no exception. And I ADORE the lip balm. It is my absolute favorite thing in this tube. The lip liner is great too, but that balm is the bomb. Exfoliating soap is nice enough – I can always use soap. The only thing that was a miss for me was that mascara primer. I also found it clumpy.

Hey I’m the same way about texture in anything I put in my mouth but really need the vitamins in the LIPISOMAL vitamins C packet, so here’s what I did& it works! Hey fruit punch Capri sun& it works even better if it’s cold, squeeze out a little under a shot worth into a cup& add the vitamin packets. Now take a fork& beat it a couple times(it will mix to a point where the texture isn’t noticed) then drink it down in one sip& follow with a sip of Capri. It actually makes the Capri sun taste like there’s a bit of orange juice added, that’s it& texture is totally normal juice texture. It works! Also works great for the other LIPISOMAL vitamin packets that came in I think last Sept tube as well!

Has anyone who is not an influencer received this box yet?

I haven’t. I reached out and got a response from CS telling me ‘it takes 2-3 weeks for us to ship your box’. But like, it’s February and this is a January box and they still haven’t shipped mine..

June

I just opened up the fall tube the other night and I am LOVING it! The lipospheric vitamin B is such a strange experience. It tastes horrible if you make the mistake like I did of trying to eat it directly, but once you put it in a shot glass with water, it goes down fine! Can definitely feel a difference in my energy levels and it was a bit of a surprise to see that my pee was neon yellow! In my opinion the box was totally worth it just for these packets! The lavender chapstick was surprisingly a hit as well! And I am very excited to try the strawberry face oil.

Also – next week is the new beauty live VIP box!! The BF and I turn it into a date night event lol Even though he generally doesn’t get any use out of the things in the box, he enjoys opening them up with me during the event and sampling all the creams and lotions! 🙂

June I cancelled my Test Tube subscription but I haven’t missed a New Beauty VIP box! I’ve received the last 6 or so and overall I love them. I am so excited for the one next week. I wish MSA would cover these as well. Have you ever won anything from the live events? I have not but still find the whole thing enjoyable. The lighted mirror we received in the last box has been a real game changer for me. Happy VIP to you!

The next event is the 9th. I’m with you, I can’t wait for it! I think those big boxes are worth it. I did get this tube also. But I am cutting back, every month, less and less.
